Tournament Players Club & MasterCard Experiences

The TPC Network as well as the PGA Tour have a unique partnership with MasterCard. In fact, if you have a MasterCard, you have a unique partnership as well. Membership really does have its privileges.  As a MasterCard cardholder, you have access to play private TPC courses on select dates throughout the golf season. If you're a MasterCard World, or World Elite card-holder, you have the ability to have access to the courses and make tee times on your schedule. Not only can you play the courses, but you're treated like a "member for the day" with access to the locker room, dining area, basically the entire facility. In addition to that program, they have the MasterCard Club Series on select Mondays and for $100, you can play the course, have a choice of either breakfast or lunch, and receive $25 to spend in the pro shop. All things considered, that's a pretty sweet deal.

MasterCard World and World Elite Privileges

Indulge yourself in the same white glove treatment typically reserved for club members and book a tee time to suit your schedule.  Enjoy membership benefits of private TPC properties, plus numerous other premier courses near you no matter where you are– call for details and course listing.

Benefits may include:

  • Luxury of booking a tee time that suits your schedule
  • Private Member treatment
  • Dedicated locker
  • Access to membership amenities (e.g., bar, dining, golf course, practice facilities)
  • 14-day booking window

I recently had the opportunity to participate in this program at the TPC Twin Cities. The course is located about 20 minutes north of Minneapolis and is the home of the Champions Tour's, 3M Championship.  TPC Twin Cities is a par-72, 7,164 yard  golf course designed by Arnold Palmer.  I've had the opportunity to play TPC Twin Cities in the past, and like every other TPC course I have played, the conditions are always immaculate. In fact, I would argue that TPC Twin Cities is probably one of the best-conditioned courses I've played, public or private. This time around, I played the course just prior to the 3M Championship, so everything was next to perfect. It's also a treat to play a course with all of the grandstands and tour equipment around. Other than playing in a $15,000 a player pro-am at a tour stop, this is about as close as you can come to playing a course in tournament conditions.

The TPC and MasterCard Experiences are an underpublicized privilege you have as a MasterCard holder.  If you have a private TPC course in your area, it's a great way to take advantage of playing something different.  More likely than not, it probably hosts a professional golf event, and will be in superior condition.

If you are a MasterCard World or World Elite cardholder, you can play a private TPC course up to two times per year.  All other MasterCard card-holders must wait for Club Series event which are typically held on select Monday's.  At TPC Twin Cities, the next event is scheduled for October 6, 2014.

That's too cool - I have to remember that - I have the neatest Master Card with a picture of my dog in the background.

Taylor Made Stealth 2 10.5 Diamana S plus 60  Aldila  R flex   - 42.25 inches

SMT 4 wood bassara R flex, four wood head, 3 wood shaft

Ping G410 7, 9 wood  Alta 65 R flex

Srixon ZX5 MK II  5-GW - UST recoil Dart 65 R flex

India 52,56 (60 pending)  UST recoil 75's R flex

Evon roll ER 5 32 inches

It's our offseason so auditioning candidates - looking for that right mix of low spin long, more spin around the greens - TBD

Thanks Zinger,  I had no idea that Master Card holders could do that.  I'll have to check with TPC Tampa Bay on the rates.

I enrolled in the MC program this past June, by then, the dates for TPC Stonebrae/Hayward and TPC Valencia had either passed or couldn't be made.

That said, through the Golf Channel Am Tour I got to play both this past summer. Good news, if upcoming seasons don't go back to either of these TPC courses it's good to know I can fall back on the MC program.

Now if I can arrange a trip to my corporate office in Minneapolis to coincide with TPC Twin Cities outing, hmm...
