RopeItGolf
Hey everyone, the Rope It is an awesome product that allows you to practice your golf swing in your own backyard using a REAL golfball. Check it out here: www.theropeit.com. We're getting ready to release a new app to supplement the Rope It to help with your golf training. The app should be available for the iPhone within the next few weeks and available for Android devices soon after that. What we're looking for is people to test the app using the Rope It - we're calling it the 100 Swing Challenge. We'll send you a FREE Rope It if you'll help us out. We'd like you to take 100 swings a day using the Rope It and test the app as well (letting us know of any features to be added, etc.) If you're interested send me a private message, we'll be selecting the testers over the next few days. Give us your best pitch on why you should get a free Rope It and be one of our testers (people with blogs and radio shows/ golf instructors, etc)! I am the inventor of The Rope It! GolfSpy WD
Interesting. How well does the rope hold up to driver swing speeds? Also, is there a way to replace the ball? I can imagine hitting the same ball 100 times a day will wear it out quick. @GolfSpy_WD
RopeItGolf
Great Questions! The Rope It is designed to be used with high irons (not drivers). Upon impact with a driver the golf ball's shell ripples which causes fractures near the hook. When used with mid to high irons, the ball does not ripple, and no structural damage is inflicted. And about the replacement of the ball: it is possible for the ball to be replaced, but we strongly discourage you from doing so. Interesting. How well does the rope hold up to driver swing speeds? So what would you recommend as max clubhead speed the Rope It could handle? While I have space in my back yard, I am surrounded with neighbors who wouldn't appreciate the ball flying into their house because the hook broke. Also, could you provide some more detail about what the app does? Thanks again. @GolfSpy_WD
RopeItGolf
The rope it was designed to be used with irons and is completely safe is used as directed (Instructions can be found at: http://www.theropeit.com/how-to-use/instructions/). As for the app, it is designed to be used with the Rope It to help you keep track of your practice shots and see how you are improving your swing. I am the inventor of The Rope It! mudfish
Do you have any pictures of how the ball is attached to the rope? In my yard if the ball comes loose I'm going to have some angry neighbors... Does the rope go all the way through or is it screwed into an eye hook? RopeItGolf
@Mudfish, To answer your question, the rope passes through the eye hook and leaves room for the ball to move independently from the rope. This makes for a more realistic flight path. The eyehook is extremely secure and will not come out of the ball. The knot at the end of the rope can become frayed after heavy usage, so the knot should always be checked for tightness before hitting the ball (for use with 5 through 8 irons, no drivers). STUDque
Love the overt marketing lol. I actually bought one of these for myself and my two buddies for Christmas 2 years ago. I'm not sure they used it much but I definitely got some good whacks out of it and scared the crap out of my neighbors in the process. Mine is still in tact but I don't use it because I've got a pretty decent spot to practice at these days. #throwbackthursday Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy In my Pisa, riding on a 3.5+ G410+ EXS 5W King F7 Hy i500 5-GW Equalizer 56/60 Heppler Ketsch
PlaidJacket
When I hear the word Rope-it out on the golf course I usually see a shot that was severely hooked or sliced. As in... "damn I roped it". or "I rope hooked one on #5 today and it went OB." Not sure how effective a ball with a eye screw in it will help. But... I can be wrong. STUDque
So you point the screw away from you and yes, it's not as soft as a regular golf ball. But it doesn't feel so bad as long as you hit it flush. There's big-time feedback if you have poor contact. It's a nice little expansion on dry swings where you can at least feel the impact and see a little of the flight Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy In my Pisa, riding on a 3.5+ G410+ EXS 5W King F7 Hy i500 5-GW Equalizer 56/60 Heppler Ketsch
