Ooh, this I can do
What a great opportunity to gain some yards. This will be a a really interesting test as I've always been looking for more distance but never had a way of doing it in a controlled test.
Fingers crossed everyone

Another fantastic test! If I didn't make my own putters I'd be all over this!
"International? Good!
RH or LH? Good!"
Good luck everyone, look forward to seeing if these work well for you guys

I know the feeling!
I promise we have been working hard to get all international and with any luck i may even have one or two international only tests.
Working very hard behind the scenes to make it happen.
It's great that you guys manage to get so many tests and, obviously, USA is the main focus for the manufacturers. Any international stuff is just a bonus to have ago at

Really finding my way with these shafts now. My iron play has got so much better since they were fitted and it's helping my confidence with my game in general.

Got me out of the S300s! playing the 921 Forged with the Modus 115 in stiff and loving it so far. Predictable ball flights and very consistent. Still need to get used to the lighter weight, but I'll get there.
Thanks to all the reviewers for taking time and for the convincing nudge for me to try something different!
Awesome! Just shows that these member reviews do have some valuable input. Hope they keep working for ya

I’m looking for iron shafts and I currently play the s300. Sorry being lazy if you answered this already, but how similar does the stiffness feel since flex isn’t something that is controlled by anyone? Is it close or does it feel stiffer?
Does it feel like you can load it more on partial shots to put more spin on the ball with the lower clubs?
I've gone from an 'S flex' to an 'X flex' so can't give a like for like comparison but they do feel stiffer but the best thing, for me, is the benefit of being able to feel where the head is due to the reduction in shaft weight.
I currently play to my yardages but I've started working on a wedge matrix which is something I'm looking at doing with my lower irons too as I've noticed a big improvement in my game from starting to use the wedge matrix.

Good luck guys, looking forward to hearing your thoughts as I'm contemplating a range finder

I can only comment on the 115's but, for me, the trajectory and descent angle are spot on. I'm holding more greens and getting more spin compared to the old S300 I had in my irons.
I'm going to be putting some Modus 115 wedge shafts in my SM8's as soon as I can.

These just get better and better the more I play them.
Cheeky 10 holes last night and have not hit my irons so well. Distance control is getting much better and the ball is stopped really well on the green giving me some good chances of scoring well as I feel I can now play the right distance rather than gambling on whether or not the ball will hold the green.

Well this club ho just bought some old Mizuno MP60s... I think the Modus is going to pair very well with those.
They have gone, very nicely, in my MP54 so should be fantastic in the MP60

I've definitely found I'm not swinging 'at' the ball. These really help me to maintain a smooth swing and I feel like I'm hitting through the ball so much better.
My consistency of strike has got so much better and distances are more accurate as a result.

Little update on my thoughts after a 36 hole competition yesterday (had a practice session on the range a couple of days prior to the comp to get my distances dialled in a little better):
I really like these shafts, the difference in confidence standing over the ball is fantastic. I was never really sure where the ball was going with the S300's in but now I'm confident that I can hit where I want.
A lot of this is down to the fact that I can feel where the head is at all times, the reduced weight feels like it's taken the shaft out of the equation. It just does a great job of putting my swing through the ball. It's hard to quantify or explain it but it just feels 'right' for me.
It may be down, in some respect, to going from an S-flex to an X-flex but I think/feel it's mainly down to a better shaft that also suits me well.
I'll do another sim session this week to get some final data before finalising my test but, in short, these aren't going anywhere!

Hey testers, hope the shafts are working well for you!
I had a question now that you’ve had some time with the new shafts. For anyone who’s moved up or down in weight did you notice it a lot, and have you adjusted to that? Is anyone thinking about wedge shafts or other parts of the bag now a result?
I've gone down in weight from my DG S300 - approx 12g per club lighter. The difference is really noticeable to me in that I can tell where the head of the club is much better. I feel like I know where it is all the way through the swing.
As a result I'm hitting the ball much more consistently and getting a really nice flight. I seem to be getting a lower launch but peak height looks higher and definitely having softer landings with more spin into the greens.
I'm not much of a shot-shaper at the moment but needed a fade on one shot this weekend. Slightly blocked out and needed a good 10y fade to get to a tight pin, tucked back right. Absolutely nailed it to about 6 feet
Safe to say I'm loving them
I'm also considering putting the 115 wedge shafts in my SM8's as my club pro now has a contract with the UK distributors.

Got out on the practice ground yesterday after picking up my clubs for the 2nd time due to a slight issue with the original build. The builder actually put a couple of shafts in wrong so things were a little out.
All sorted now with a new set of shafts fitted
Wasn't looking at distance too much as I just wanted to get a feel for the shafts and see how they launched and what sort of dispersion I was getting.
Started with my SM8 wedges to warm up, then went through PW to 4i. Really pleasing results it has to be said as I had a dispersion of, roughly, 10y either side so a total of around 20 yards across all the irons. Ball flight looked to be lower launch but a really nice peak height and appeared to be dropping softly. No idea on spin as the ground isn't mowed like a green...
I also tried a low 'punch' shot that I use quite a lot with my 6 & 8i. 8i to 100y, 6i to 150y keeping the ball low for under trees etc. This also worked really well and I was able to control the trajectory very nicely.
On the weight side of things the addition of the new shafts has made a difference to my club weight of between 10 & 14g per club lighter and the result of that, in feel, is that the head seems much more noticeable. I feel like I can tell where the head is at all times which translated into a much more consistent swing that gave me much better dispersion. I never felt like I was just swinging the club, there's a really positive connection with the head.
I'll be doing another sim session this week to gather some more data then I'll be defending a trophy I won last year at the weekend. I've then got a 36 hole comp the weekend after so I'll be getting in as much practice as I can.
So far, so good

@DStar those look fantastic! Too bad they're lefty...
So I have a question for you testers. One of my favorite things about the Modus 120 is that they feel solid/dense in the hands. It's hard to explain but compared to the PX LZ and IO that I've used and tried the Modus feels so solid where the handle felt hollow in the PX offerings.
Anyone pick up on that sensation with the Modus 115? Or am I just crazy?
I do get what you mean Bryan. They do feel different to the DG S300 in a good way, as you say though, hard to explain why. The X-flex is definitely better suited to my swing and initial findings are that my spin is up but a slightly lower launch angle. However, due to the increased spin, the peak height does seem higher and I'm finding the ball is landing 'softer' on the greens so that's 2 ticks in the box for things I was looking to improve.
This was a 6i from 190y, downhill, into a par 5. Missed the eagle putt by a couple of inches:

Mine are ready to collect so super excited to give them a try. Have an hour booked on the sim tomorrow morning then a tee time a bit later so should be nicely warmed up.
I'm going to play 18 with just the irons so that they all get a good 1st test on the course as I don't generally hit a lot of long irons due to my length off the tee.
-
Are you finding they launch lower than you DG S300?
I'm hoping they launch a bit higher for me as the DG are listed as a low launch shaft...

Great opportunity for you guys, look forward to seeing the results.
