Date 02/21/2024 Course Name Sun City Golf Club Cowan Creek Gross Score 71 Course Handicap -1 Gross Strokes over/under par -1 Net Score to Par 0 Net Score 72 Net Birdies or better 4 Longest Drive 341 SIM Round? Beautiful day temperature wise, but a heck of a wind. Gust up to 38 mph. Down or up wind are not an issue. It’s the side wind that kills you. Additionally, the way the wind will mess with chips and putts. Hit 10 fairways and 15 greens. Had one bad double! Recorded 33 putts, but 2 were long 2 putts after hitting par 5’s in two. Tomorrow is another day!

SIM The lessons yesterday translated into me being on fire last night for our sim scramble league putting a -14 down, and then a -7 today. It’s still a Sim round so I would never put that score down, but I would have been even par for sure, maybe just under in real life. The course plays 6000 yards from the tips so it’s definitely short, but the elevation changes are drastic, and can be deceiving if not respected. Everything was firing so well today though, the putter was there to make sure every time I was bailed out if necessary, even though that was sparse.

All in all, small tweaks from the lesson were great and are translating really well!

Wet day, cart paths only, casual water everywhere.  Course played much longer, so chipping and putting at a premium.  Surprisingly, the greens were still fairly quick, and rolled very well, which didn't hurt.  It's a nice place to play, just a shame that our visit came after a weekend of non-stop rain.

Score doesn't really reflect how well I thought I was playing. Pitching and chipping are usually a strong part of my game but today on a wet parkland course it let me down. On 14 (par 4) 70 yds short in 2 made triple. 15th similar story for a double. Also had 4 x 3 putts. But on the positive side it is another 18 holes on my comeback to fitness.

Thank you for the additional insight toward participation throughout the year and testing. I'm very happy that I stumble across MGS over a year ago.
Only bad thing... I didn't find you sooner!!!

Well said @GolfSpy_APH, The OEM's rely/depend on MGS and its members to be honest and detail their reviews, as @Cfhandyman stated about reading and re-reading the guidelines is a must for complete accurate reviews and to give members guidelines as to what is expected before, during and after testing.
Since MGS has really no face to face interactions with a member, they must rely on the members posts and interactions with other MGS members so a comfort level can be reach to make a decision and then possibly grant a product for testing.
I know its a very hard line when choosing a tester and thankfully we have the ADMIN staff to sort through everything. MGS administrators are the best and always are out to do the right thing to help the members and OEM's.  Well Done.
I'm glad I stumbled across the MGS website in 2022... Now that was a GREAT DAY OF GOLF!!
Thank you MGS you are a vital part of the golf world, keep it rockin'

I can attest to the Ai-ONE…it is an awesome putter.  I know the broomsticks have a lot of love on the forum, but they are not my thing…
The Ai has improved my putting so far this year!

I spent a solid amount of time in Dick's today and all I did was use the AI One. Time just flew by as I was sinking putts in there ( I can count on 5 fingers how many were missed). If it had been the DB Rossi, we would be talking in a different topic 😅

Nothing is EVER “safe” in my bag!  That being said, I don’t plan on changing or adding any clubs, or my golf ball (Maxfli Tour X CG), but you just never really know with me.

Which OnCore model do you use?  I have been an OnCore player for more than 6 years (I first discovered them and their golf balls the first year that they exhibited at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando). Being from Buffalo, NY, I was immediately drawn to this golf ball company with their unique golf balls and they were located in my home town of Buffalo!  I joined "Team OnCoreamd have been fortunate to try every ball model that hey have introduced. The VeroX1 is my favorite ball in the OnCore lineup, and the newest ELIXR model is great during the cold winter months, when I want I little lower compression in my golf ball.
I guess that you could say that after the Maxfli balls, OnCore (or, at least their VeroX1 and 2022 ELIXR) are my second choice in golf balls.
FYI (if you didn't already know this), the Maxfli TourX, with its 102 compression, is one of the firmest-feeling golf balls on the market .... right up there with the ProV1 Left Dash ball.

I’m interested in trying the Maxfli. I’m between balls right now but have a lot of OnCore balls to lose. Sounds like the Maxfli is working for you.

Maybe my fairway woods, maybe my irons. More than likely it will be my irons that get replaced this year.
