Good morning MGSpies from a dark frosty downtown Buffalo parking spot by the office building on this early Tuesday in February ☕ coffee in the mug and Phaeleh's Mist on Pandora setting the mood and thankful for no ice fog of yesterday to go with that title.
Love reading the thread about what's going on with my fellow MGSpies and there's so much reading with all the extra posts in response though the discussion would be better moved to an appropriate thread for the topic. Keeping up with life and family, job, plans, yesterday's adventures though, just love the community here! 🤝
Hope golf is a part of your day ⛳

    Good morning all!
Had a nice Monday, got some work done, wife has been making some gluten free bread to find a good recipe (I think we are very close there), and ended with the kids ski practice where I pulled our youngest for about 75 minutes so that turned into a pretty solid work out. Today should be another normal day, with no major plans. Might get a run in later this morning but time will tell.
    Have a great Tuesday everyone!

    Good Morning all,
In the office today and then today is sanding and painting day for the boys pinewood derby cars.  They're going for broke on speed over style this year.  The standard block is 3.5g of the 5g total limit.  after trimming the blocks down each of the boys base weighs only around 1g each, there's going to be a lot of weight we can add once paint and wheels are added!

Hope you all have a great day!

Every time I drive by a work crew, I'm thinking the best job was being one of the 5 guys standing around supervising the one guy doing the work.  😂

Good morning all. Waiting for the issue of road closure to pump out 9 manholes to run fiber optic cable underground today. Should be a 2-3 day bundle of joy. Fortunately I am not the guy pulling the fiber. Maybe stop at one of the ranges on the way home today, fingers crossed. Hope everyone has a solid Tuesday. Oh almost forgot gonna take my one Pokémon hunter to the park tonight to spin some pokestops and catch some monsters! Again have a good one today!

Follow up to my post the other day about getting to golf again post ACL surgery. Met with the surgeon today for my 12 week follow up. Fully cleared to golf including full swings with the driver. I went straight to PGAASS to take a couple swings with the big stick. First one was a beautiful baby draw at 298 yards. Just a nice smooth swing nothing crazy and was very happily surprised. Wish I could say the rest of my swings were that nice 😂. Still can’t complain I can play golf again and hit the big stick.

Nice result and good to hear you had a positive putter fitting experience. I plan to book a putter fitting and lesson once I figure out the best place for each in my area- it's definitely my Achilles heel! I really like some of the Odyssey mallet putters and I had a try out with a friend's O-works 7S and old Jailbird last spring. The new AI models are intriguing.

Yup, I know it’s evening. But my morning was full of this.

Travel day again. Finished up Atlanta business. Off to Birmingham AL tomorrow morning.

I know it is evening for me but the morning was hectic. Got up to make my morning coffee and saw the news about Toby Keith. Being in the casino business he and I crossed paths a few times and was just a nice down to earth dude. Glad I was able to catch several of his shows over the years. My hour at the gym today was his music on shuffle.

Nice looking putter.  I can kind of relate to your comment about sliding into bad habits.  The last few years I’ve studied a lot about the mechanics of the swing, but ignored various aspects of putting, but last year after improving a lot with my scores, it was obvious my putting was holding me back.
Did I slide into bad habits? IDK - only because I couldnt have told you what my habits were.  I had an old ping blade putter that I really liked the look, but something was wrong.  I finally spent a lot of time studying about putting and tried a lot of different Odyssey Versa putter styles that my club had as demos.  By this time I was convinced I needed a mallet or mid-mallet.  I also focused a lot on setup, ball position, and more shoulder turn with relaxed arms and quiet wrists.
One day at a pgatss I was trying various other brands and a bored sales agent approached and we started talking.  He says if I have time, he’d like to bring out SAM.  So, he sets it up and it analyzes my putting.  I was using an unfamiliar putter for the test, but it gave me a good idea about my swing technique.  So I went back to my club and checked out the Odyssey Versa DoubleWide (has slight toe-hang) and played a round with it with very good success.  I wasn’t  sure it really fit my eye and ended up checking it out 2 more times.  I couldn’t argue with the results and finally ordered.  By that time, the price was reduced to $234 and I couldn’t be happier performance-wise.

I play on Thursday and it will be in the bag! Glad you are impressed with the 7’s. If I didn’t do the fitting I would have picked it. The JailBird Mini actually performed best for me. They also bent it 4 degrees flat.

    Good Day Spies!
Chilly & Windy Central Florida morning.   51 degrees & windy for 7:15am tee time.  We actually teed off closer to 7:30am, due to sanding (top dressing) the greens.  They top-dressed, rolled & watered the greens.  The greens were actually pretty good.  It did warm up to 61 degrees however, wind was pretty stiff & constant. Good ball striking day & Had my first eagle of the year, chipping in on Par 5.
Back home and to work! Enjoying a nice HOT cup of Espresso!!
Have a Great Day Everyone!! Stay Warm! ⛳

Happy Tuesday - happy to say we made it through the torrential downpours SoCal had just fine, and (though it's still raining) feeling pretty good this morning.  Work's slammed, so I'll keep this short, just wanted to poke in and say the forum is going to be pumping now that the '24 testing season is officially upon us.  Tune in each and every Thursday 😉
Enjoy your days, stay dry/cool/warm/pick-your-own-adventure and see you soon.

Good morning all! Got in to play a quick 9 at my home course this morning. I'm still getting back into golf after a 10 year gap from playing in college to now. I'm down to 4 hcp in 6 months which I'm happy with, but this morning was particularly good. I hit all 9 GIR, pretty sure I bounced off the pin back to a foot for what could've been my first HIO and ended at even par through 9. Seems like it's always the best rounds that you aren't able to finish out

Thanks for the shout outs, I used to teach golf back in the day, and I'm in pursuit of getting back into it through an accredited program to become a Teaching professional once again.
Thanks again, I can say the same for all MyGolfSpy members
