As someone who has been newish to the game and do at least once a week play, you have to have fun every time you go out and play. If there is a shot that you make all the time, but wind up duffing it that one time yes you get aggravated. But you have to laugh at yourself. Getting better is the ultimate goal yes, but having fun regardless of how you are playing is key. Even if you had a bad day on the course, deep down you had fun because you see what you need to work on to get better. When I was getting out drove by 50-60 yards, I still had fun. I was learning. You just have to keep learning every time you go play. But that is my mindset and may not work for others.

How will lions do?  Their coach seems to maximize the talent - can he manage clock and strategy?   I am rooting for them. 

If you are in Florida, specifically the Jacksonville area, volunteer for the Players Championship. Once you are done with the event you get to play the Stadium course for the price of the cart fee, which when I did it was 35 dollars. Amazing course to play once you get past the awe of standing on the first tee and getting the jitters out. Can honestly say my next bucket list course is probably Bethpage Black now.

Pretty sure that course is 45 minutes from me now. Closest golf course to me is the Gloucester golf club 9 hole course. Not the best, but also still not the worst course I played ever. Going to have to try and go there to new Kent and play this summer.

Not gonna lie, got pretty good at putting with my 6 iron. Ever since GM_Golf did it and I started watching his channel before good good came along, they would do that in his channel. Figured I’d start doing it way back when I was learning to play cause I was lazy to walk back to the cart for my putter. I learned to chip with my 6 iron though.

I would say the answer is course dependent. For the purposes of this discussion I’ll use my home course and I’m taking the following:
Driver
3 hybrid
7 iron
Pitching Wedge
58 degree wedge
i can negotiate all of the par 3’s with either the pw or the 7 iron. The par 5’s with driver, 3 h, and pw. Some of the 4’s might be tricky, but it would be fun to try!

For my course.
Driver
6 iron - all par 3s are 5-7 iron depending on wind and I can play this on all par 5s as second shot 
9 iron - good lower end club I can adjust distances or hammer for a few extra yards
Wedges for the misses or chips needed when only playing 5 clubs. 
50*
58*
No putter. I'll use 6 iron

Well go figure, another nice day and stuck at work until the sun goes down. I'm feeling mother nature just doesn't want to play nice right now and allow me a nice day to golf on the weekend. Meh, could always be worse.
