Slow play kills a round.  You can shoot 120 or more and still keep pace.  Players that "fall asleep" over the ball before they hit are my biggest issue.  Get ready while others in your group are hitting so you can hit quickly.  In my opinion, new golfers do very little to learn the game and just are out on the course whacking away with little regard for rules or etiquette.  I'm very ok with having to wait occasionally but if I know there is a group that is to blame, I'm saying something to them (politely) about picking the pace.  Most Marshalls arent worth talking to about pace of play at local public courses.  I have played at private clubs..especially in FL that marshalls are all over slow play and have personally witnessed them kicking groups off the course after 2 warnings

Generally I am not a fan. Though I am fine with it if the music is not loud. The guys that think it's okay to blast their tunes are annoying.

Yes, pulling up behind you on the tee with music blaring is the most common and irritating disrespect.

Alright, so I'm sure we can say we've all been there, wether it was us playing slow when we were first learning or, playing behind a group that seems to be taking their sweet sweet time.
    Context:
I played a round recently at a local pricey municipal, tee time is around 120, anyways I digress.  We pull up to a par 3 with 5 groups backed up on it. I call the Marshall, we are all waiting for a foursome that each player hits multiple times.. The Marshall gets there only to tell me they are on pace and what does he expect him to do. In this scenario what would y'all have done. mind you 5 groups and it took 5.5 hrs to finish round.
What I did: I called again along with multiple other groups and Marshall refused to tell them anything or move them up, I ended up yelling at the group , and it made other groups yell too.. I honestly feel like a total you know what for doing so but it still didn't change anything.
how do you guys deal with a slow playing group that isn't being considerate for other players?

    Morning All,
Played with son at 6am on Saturday.  First 2some off.  We walked and finished 18 holes in 3hrs and 10min.....loved it.  Played well.  41/36 for 77 (6,450 yards).  No birdies, but oh well.  Son shot 78 from 7300 yards with a double...he's pretty good!  I never beat him.  My last 3 rounds have all been in the 70s.  I have been working hard on getting more consistent off the tee....seems to be helping!
    Hit Em Straight!!!

    Hi All,
Looking for some help.  I have a set of Tour blades that I am working on for a friend and we are trying to figure out what year they are from.  Can anyone help.  See attached photos.  They have True Temper Dynamic Gold shafts...not sure if they are the original shafts or not.  We are guessing ealry 70s???
    Thanks

    Hello All,
2 rounds this weekend. Firs round was a 75 on Sunday and then a 79 on Friday.  Local courses in SE WI area.  The 79 was actually a better round than the 75 due to the severity and speed of the greens.  Overall ball striking has been good but I sure wish I could find some consistency with my driver...omg!  Need to lower the ball flight somehow...open to any suggestions....Hit em straight!

Thanks.  I love MSG so far.  I have been the store in Sycamore.  I live less than 2 hours from there.  Great old building that they have really decked out.  I spent over an hour with Jason (CEO) on my fitting.  I am a clubmaker and I have been buying components from Jason (he owns Diamond Tour Golf) for about 30 years.  Great guy.  The Sub 70 swag is awesome too!

    2. I love golf for getting outside, playing with my 2 sons, friends and with people I dont know....due to being paired up...love it
    3.  I just found MGS today...looks like fun.  I love to read golf forums to find new courses, etc
    4. I live in SE WI, near the IL border right on Lake Michigan.  I dont have a home course.  I play all over the place but have several rounds at Whistling Straits and Sand Valley Resort in WI
    5.  Best things in WI are the variety of courses...WI rated Top state for golf by Golf Digest...crazy.  Worst thing is the short season but I play until the snow flies and even after that if courses are open

Don't know much about Takomo but I have the 699 irons...game changers.  I went to their Sycamore, IL store for a fitting and they got me into the right set and shaft combination.  Im a lefty so didn't have many choices when I bought but I love them.  I now have Sub 70 wedges and the 949 series 3 & 5 woods.  My son who plays to a 2 handicap just bought a combo set of 659 CBs and MBs.  He has been playing TaylorMade 770s for awhile.  He prefers the Sub 70 irons.
Their customer service is 2nd to none!

Great review of St George.  If you go again play Black Desert and check out the Ledges for rental houses.  Super cheap prices.  I agree with you on the liquor....our 4some drank more beer during our round than they sold the entire day  (said the lady behind the bar counter inside the Pro Shop).  We are from WI, of course we are having some beers while playing.   If you get to WI, check out Sand Valley and Whistling Straits.  If you dont want to spend the big bucks, check out Washington County, The Bull at Pinehurst Farms and the Bog.

WI was rated the number 1 state for golf-by-Golf Digest.  Tons of greats tracks all over the State.  The obvious ones are Whistling Straits, Erin Hills, Sand Valley resort but many, many more great courses that will shock you.  A few courses within 1an hour or so of Milwaukee.....Washington County, The Bull at Pinehurst Farms, Wild Rock (at the Wilderness resort in the Dells), Sentry World, Geneva National, etc.
All great values for the money spent
