I just counted, and I've played 74 courses in VA. More than I'd thought.

Looking forward to this! -
I played my F8s for two years, and I'm still playing the wedges. They look fine. Nothing like your pics. I wonder if yours came from a bad batch?

340 courses here in the Commonwealth. That's going to take a while.

Can't wait to see what Gil Hanse has done with SH.

I remember the same thing from Golf My Way. I tell this to the kids we coach at First Tee and they ask me "Who's Jack?" -

I've found the same thing, but what I can't get away with (and indeed, I don't know what club can get away with) is the high toe that you'll get from fluffy rough or a ball teed too high on a par 3. I've actually found that I get better performance teeing the ball lower on par 3s and other times I hit irons off a tee. -

They are solidly in the bag for all modern club rounds (I've started playing every 4th or 5th round with classics). I don't see them leaving any time soon. -
Nice to see this thread come back up. I do miss seeing @edteergolf here with his words of wisdom. So I'll leave the concept of Separation Value from Lowest Score Wins here as I've done in other threads. https://lowestscorewins.com/separation-value We have a finite amount of time to practice; we should dedicate it to shots that we: 1. Hit several of each round 2. Can meaningfully improve with practice

Back under the old handicap system, you were supposed to play to your handicap about 25% of the time (https://www.oga.org/back-basics-handicapping-101-playing-your-handicap). I haven't found an update to that logic since the change to the WHS. Looking at my last revision, 3 of my last 20 scores have differentials at or below my index, and another two scores are .5 or less above my index. So I guess the 25% rule is pretty much still in tact.

So gorgeous. We might have our very own Tyson Lamb here.

Thanks for the recommendations. A friend not on this forum recommended FrameItEasy, and they did a phenomenal job for a really reasonable price.

But seriously, it's beautiful. Have you considered a design that mills out more material as you get closer to the sweetspot to try to make the heel/toe more responsive compared to the center? And do it in a way that you don't get sued by Guerin Rife?

Well, I'm down about 1.5 on my index (6.9 to 5.4 right now), and hitting 8.5% more greens means I'm hitting ... 1.5 more greens. So I guess that's about right.

So here are my stats from last year: and this year I've been focusing pretty hard on hitting enough club this year, and it's worked out well so far. Like @DaveP043 and @THEZIPR23 have said, I just commit to hitting the ball over the green if I hit a really good shot. What surprised me is that I've actually dropped my long misses. Not sure how I managed that. The idea of GI clubs being more flyer-prone is interesting. But I'd pin a fair amount of the variability on the audience. I know how badly I miss short and long.

Thank you guys! I've survived the big 5-0.
