I'm down to 282.7 which is 35.3 down from where I started. Keto eating has REALLY been crucial for me. I don't feel tired either, even after a round of 18 holes. I take some macadamia nuts or pistachios with me and make sure to drink plenty of water while I'm playing and it's been great. A push cart will be the next purchase for me (after I get some new sticks!) so I can play AND exercise more than I do.

My home course is fairly hilly and not necessarily a walking course but people do it all the time. At first I thought, "you couldn't pay me to walk 18 here". Well, I just bought a push cart and am committing to walking. I'm in fairly good shape, run and/or workout daily but I still want to shed a few lbs. Wish me luck.

Update: I'm down from 318 to 287.4, so 30.6 pounds since COVID started. I'm feeling pretty good, don't get any cravings, but sticking to these macros is HARD - the last two days haven't been my best - I'll be way low on fat, way up on protein... thankfully I can keep my carbs in check for the most part.
Also, 5 weeks ago my BIL and dad decided to get on the weight loss train with me. Every Monday we're entering our weights into a google form and I'm tracking the % of total weight loss between then (5 weeks ago) and the end of August. Whoever loses the largest % of their 5-week-ago body weight will be the winner. See screenshot of weight lost so far. My BIL had a tough week - his dad died last weekend, and so he regressed a bit (naturally). He's also in his 30s, not 40s like me or 60s like my dad, so he'll have a better chance to make it up 🙂

Yeah baby. As of yesterday, 202.4lbs. The walking at the zoo did help.

I hit everything so well today, it’s hard to pick.
#14 - I hit a full SW from about 109 yards to 3 inches. (yes, I made the putt!)
#18 - Standing on 18 tee, I am tied with two others for the lead.  I knew I needed to birdie the 600 yard uphill, upwind par 5.  A decent drive and second left me 180 out.  I hit a decent approach shot, and that left me about 30 feet away.  Of course, the two guys tied with me and about 40 others were loitering around 18 green, watching me come in, and everyone was expecting a playoff (myself included).  But I drained my downhill, 30 foot double-breaker for the win!

My shot of the day wasn’t anything TOO exciting but it was memorable for me. 130 yds out, 7-8’ uphill to the pin, and I hit a nice, straight 9 iron shot. Landed a couple feet from the cup and rolled away to about 12’. Two putted for par. The memorable part? There was a gentleman standing to the left if the green that watched it all happen and complimented me on my approach shot as I walked up. It happened to be the club pro so the compliment felt like it had some extra substance to it.

Hole 14, par 3, 166 yards downhill. Plays closer to 155. Hit a 8 iron a tad thin, but almost holed it. Then proceed to miss the 4 footer for birdie 😂

Hit my approach a hair too long and went about 5 feet off the steep end of the green, which was a good backstop, but is now an ugly downhill return approach. So I hit a half speed flop that landed pin high and stopped dead where it landed. Missed the par save, but the funny part was all the guys all went “NooOooooOOOoooo,!! when i took the big swing, and when it landed and stopped dead they changed to into a “whooooooOoOOOoo!,!! Then we all busted up laffing..😆

Assistant Director of Residence Life within a Student Housing department at large public university. My fun fact is that I didn’t have to pay rent ever until I was 28 because of my various on a college campus. Let me tell you, I’ve seen the best and worst of 18-22 year olds...

How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? - 85-90, 13ish handicap
What do you love about golf? The constant challenge of getting better and being outside.
What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? - I had a good friend point me to the 2019 MGS Ball Study and I was hooked after that. Looking forward to the 2020 one. Reddit keeps me entertained on r/golf but MGS scratches my more serious golf itch.
Where are you from? What is your home course? - Birmingham AL; RTJ Oxmoor Valley
What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? - Courses can get crowded on the weekends but the RTJ trail is awesome. Also we can pretty much golf 365.
What do you do for a living? - Education Administration for a large University
How’d you pick your user name? - Just happens that my initials are catchy
