So here's why I am no longer bagging the cool new SLDR.

Tournament day last Saturday. I decided to regrip my cool new SLDR. But alas, because of work commitments I couldn't pick it up Friday after work. So it's 10pm Friday night, I tee off at 8:15am Saturday morning and I have no driver!

So I went to Sports Authority (the only place open late) to possibly rent or buy a club. I had no real plan...

I told the kid who usually sells shoes and baseball bats my dilemma. He said the best he could do was sell me a driver from the rack. Resigned to buying a POS and hoping it didn't break on the first tee, I looked at what they had. Off brand crap for $79 was the best I could find. But he found me an RBZ in my specs for $99. So I pulled the trigger.

Tournament Day:

I took the wrapper off the driver on the range and hit a few. Not bad...

I played with a guy I had played a few tournaments with before. I remember him as being a decent player, but 20 yards longer than me. With the RBZ I out drove this guy all day by 5-10 yards.

With the exception of the 18th hole, I never missed a fairway, and I added 20-25 yards. I'll keep the SLDR, but I'm gonna bag this RBZ until it goes cold.

There is no spoon.

I was just hoping to keep it in the fairway. But this thing's legit. The kick point is a little low for me, so I'm sure it won't do well for me in the wind, but with a different shaft, it's a gamer. And only $99 brand new!

Not at all! I thought you were going to say you tried the latest something or other and it beat SLDR. I was curious what it was. RBZ was unexpected.

M. Knight Shyamalan couldn't have written a better twist.

One our Budy a Trip guys broke his 7 yr old driver shaft on the 2nd day of the trip last week, so he asked the pro shop to give him a deal. He bought the Callaway Optiforce for $150. He is hitting it very well. I have not read much about it.......has anyone famed it?

I fear to think... do you know what this implies?  :o

There's no more "extra yards" to be yielded from the latest and greatest!

I was on the verge of pulling the trigger and buy an SLDR, now this changes things a bit  :D

Now in my bag:

TM SLDR 10.5 Deg with Matrix Ozik 6Q3 S flex

TM VSteel 15 deg 3 wood

Cleveland Launcher Hybrid 18 deg Diamana Red Board Stiff

Titleist ZB Forged Iron 3-PW DG S200 Steel Shaft

Cleveland CG15 46, 52, 56, 60 Wedges

Scotty Cameron California Del Mar

That's funny Jon, but glad you found something that works even better.

I'm still gaming mine, haven't changed it or tinkered at all since the fitting.  I don't really feel like I'm any longer than I was before, but I feel like I have more control with it and I'm hitting more fairways.

The original RBZ also had the weight low and forward. It just wasn't marketed based on that technology. It was marketed on the technology of being white. Strangely the original RBZ Tour did not have weight low and forward.
