cc7768
Hi everyone. I've followed the site for a couple months now and it has already helped me make some (good) purchase decisions. I have "played" golf on and off for 10-15 years, but recently, in an effort to bring some balance into my life (keep myself sane during my PhD), I've decided to take it more seriously. I have set a goal to have a handicap below 15 before I finish (3 years from now). Thanks for putting together a great site and a good community. cc7768
PhD is in economics -- More specifically (if you're into that kind of thing) I'm working on things that lie on the border between macroeconomics and dynamic contracts/game theory. mdumble21
Macroeconomics is a fascinating field, particularly considering the current political and financial situations across the globe. I'm a geologist by trade. I tried to complete a Bachelor of Commerce last year at my old university, but gave up on it due to better job prospects. Kenny B
Welcome from the Pacific Northwest! Glad you joined us. Good luck on the PhD!! Golf is a different kind of stress, but it is a great distraction from the everyday stresses of life. Aiden Parker
It's important to have hobbies and interests outside of work, especially during a demanding program like a PhD. Golf is a wonderful sport that can offer both physical and mental challenges, and it's great that you've decided to take it more seriously. Setting a specific goal like having a handicap below 15 is a great way to stay motivated and focused on your progress. Remember to be patient with yourself and enjoy the process of learning and improving.
