JerBooth
Afternoon all, Happy thanksgiving to you all in the US. Hope everyone is staying safe in the world of COVID. Wondering if some opinion of a couple clubs I've been looking at. Has anyone ever used or is currently playing: - Callaway Mavrik Pro Hybrids or Epic Hybrids. - Cleveland HB Hybrids - Titleist Hybrids of any sort I'm looking at the Callaway Preowned site and deals galore. Hence the Mavrik idea. The other two are on a site up here in Canada I've been considering. Thoughts?? anything to stay away from? others I may be overlooking? Thanks everyone. tony@CIC
Why not go to a local big box store and try out the different models? I personally prefer the 410 hybrids (22* and 26*), even though I've got an F-Max 5 wood and SZ irons. I know you wouldn't find them on the CPO site, but on the other hand if they work better for you it would be time well spent. cnosil
I love Titleist hybrids. Tried a bunch over the years but found the 585 and played it for a long time; then upgraded to the 915 and 816 models. If I wanted new ones, I would start with titleist. RickyBobby_PR
Some of the hybrids are designed more for distance than for iron replacements. Titleist told the approach several Years back to have them be more of an actual iron replacement than all about distance. Some setup more closed than others and than can affect how they may play for one person and not the same for another. Most brands make good clubs. @tony@CIC hit on it, going somewhere to try different ones and see what works best for you and your eye is a better option than 15-20 different opinions on a golf forum. tony@CIC, cnosil and JerBooth 3 Quote Driver: PXG 0811 X+ Proto w/UST Helium 5F4 Wood: TaylorMade M5 5W w/Accra TZ5 +1/2”, TaylorMade Sim 3W w/Aldila rogue white Hybrid: PXG Gen2 22* w/AD hybrid Irons: PXG Gen3 0311T w/Nippon modus 120 Wedges: TaylorMade MG2 50*, Tiger grind 56/60 Putter: Scotty Caemeron Super Rat1 Ball: Titleist Prov1
LeftyMatt89
I’ve tried the CLK and G410. I like the leading edge of the g410 and have a lot of confidence with it from bad lies. Overall, if properly fit most hybrids should perform very similarly. That being said I’ve found shaft matters a lot in hybrid, I didn’t like the g410 with an atmos 9TX but love it with a 9x Ventus blue.
