I got new clubs this year. I now play Callaway Paradym X woods, hybrids and irons. I use Cleveland CBX wedges and an Odyssey Versa Sabre tooth putter. The Paradyms are great in my mind. My favourite clubs are the 7 wood and 5 hybrid. I purchased Cleveland CBX wedges a couple of years ago because they were cavity based wedges which have helped my game. As for a putter, I have 3 putter but this year I have been using the Odyssey Versa Sabre tooth putter exclusively. My other putters are an Odyssey 2 ball and a Scotty Cameron Newport 2 or 2.5, I can't remember.

Paradym X 5 & 7 woods

Paradym X 4 & 5 Hybrids

Paradym X irons 6-AW

Cleveland CBG wedges 50, 54 & 58*

3 wood is a good to which is my most trusted Club. Had it for ages and it only seems to get better.

It's a Cobra F7 and if I am ever having a off day with driver, I dump it and bring out the Cobra.

Not only that but it's a great recovery club for me. Will be very difficult to find one that out does this one for me and knowing my history with this Club it will never be sold either.

I've only owned 4 3 woods in the last 25 years or so and it's been my most reliable club. In many instances I can hit it as far as my driver (I have a spin problem with my driver and my delivery) but usually straighter. My current iteration of my 3w is the Sub70 949x @15*. It's been great for me, although I'm not sure it's as long as others I've played in the past. It could be I don't swing like I used to though.

My Sub70 939x 3h & 4h have also been fantastic and for the most part very straight and long. I also have a 949x 5w, but I'm in the process of changing shafts after GG screwed up my current one when I had some work done to it.

The 100% milled Sub70 002 Mid-Mallet putter has been a great replacement for my 20+ year old Carbite Golf DD putter. Same overall design, just a bit heftier and a lot softer off the face. Still getting used to it as it's only about a year old to me.

This couldn't be any closer to my reality right now! Driver launches in a good window but carry distance is often pretty disappointing for my swing speed (I don't have recent launch monitor data right now). It's a bittersweet situation as I feel like my driver should go much much further than it does but I'm also very happy that my 3W is that good and reliable of a club.

By any chance, were you fitted for your driver? Has your swing changed? I shallowed my swing quite a bit lately and noticed a slight increase in driving distance but it's still not close to what I expect or had when I first got my current driver. At the time, I was "semi-fitted" for it in a sense that I tried all stock driver setups available and a few no extra charge shaft options and went with what was was closer to the ideal setup. I'm starting to think that I should return see a fitter and at least verify if my equipment is the culprit...

My Taylormade M2 3 hybrid is my comfort club. It is my most consistently straight club, and misses are a fade instead of a slice. I'm never more than a few yards off the fairway with it. When I get a hold of it, I can put it 220+ down the middle. When my mechanics fall apart and I start catching too much of the ground, I'll still send it 180ish, mostly down the middle. I'm considering a full bag fitting next spring and fully planning to replace everything except for that club.

Woops wanted to interact on this topic but went off track when reading @Shrek74's post regarding driver as I can relate 100%.

I'm currently gaming D, 3W and utility iron at the top of the bag, 4-PW with irons and a 52-56-60 wedge setup.

Driver is a Callaway Rogue ST Max LS with an Aldila Rogue White 130 MSI shaft. It's a mid-lauch/low-spin setup that I got last year when battling spinny cuts that hurted carry distance. Last year was a honeymoon phase: I effortlessly hitted it 270 yds and regularly up to 300 yds  when I pured one. This year, I struggled with slices that killed my drives (and game). I've drastically shallowed my swing and distance has increased accordingly but I still can't reliably hit it 270 yds. I'm thinking of getting fit once again to see if my setup still suits my needs/swing. So far, I suspect that the shaft may be too heavy (i.e., 70X being 76g).

My 3W is a stock/off-the-rack TaylorMade Sim Max (15*) with the Fujikura Ventus Blue shaft. I don't see myself replacing this club anytime soon, maybe ever. As mentioned in my reply to another post in this thread, I hit it on a string basically everytime and it's barely shorter than my driver.

The utility iron is a TaylorMade Stealth UDI 2i (18*) that I love. It's an absolute rocket off the tee, but I don't get to use it as often as I would like (or as often as I should some would say). It's also not the most versatile club as it's quite tough to hit from the rough and I still haven't had repeatable results using it to get par 5s in two shots from the fairway. For that reason, I'm thinking of adding a 5W or a 3H as a 15th club and make a rotation depending on how I feel.

I'm currently in the process of testing irons for the forum so I don't know yet if I'll keep my gamers or replace them with the Caley 01CBs. What is sure is that I'll stay with the 4-PW setup.

As for the wedge setup. I'll keep a 60* that's for sure but I'm thinking of changing the GW (52*) and SW (56*) for a 50* and 54*. My three wedges are TaylorMade MG2s and I feel like the GW and SW's shafts are too soft. I full swing these clubs quite often and I currently have a distance blind spot between PW and GW.

I was not fit for the driver. My last driver fitting was for PXG Gen4, and they had to go to a 7.5*, turned down to 6* to get my spin down. I was just hitting it all over the yard at that point and still hitting mid to upper 3k on the spin. So I took the shaft and just grabbed a used Max LS head to see what would happen. I get the occasional 250-260 yarder (1-2x per round at most), but that's it. At 105, that should be carry not total. I haven't done anything to my driver swing, but am working on my iron swing a bit. But it's mostly wrist rotation and trying to get more hip rotation. I'll get a full bag fitting in May for my 50th b-day, so I'll hopefully be better then.

I may need to do the foot spray test at the range and see if maybe I'm contacting a bad part of the head causing higher spin. I'll just keep trying stuff and seeing what happens. Plus my swing coach will eventually get to my driver after my irons aren't such a mess with my wrists and hips.

I think there are certain clubs in the bag you need to have faith in.

Must have confidence in the driver, but you also need a backup because there are those rounds where driver just isn't working and you need something to get you in play off the tee. For that I go to my hybrid.

It's important to know your carry numbers with irons and have a favorite distance. For me that is my 8i (165) and 50* wedge (125). If I'm having an off day, I try to play for those distances off the tee.

Have one wedge that works for you all the way around the green, I use my low bounce 58* for nearly everything.

Golf club fitting for first time last summer.

Edel EAS 4.0 Putter - custom fit (This putter has helped my game immensely.)

Ping G425 - (Eh, it's ok but sounds terrible)

Callaway Apex 17 and 21 degree fairway woods (These remind me of my old Adams Tightlies is why I play them.)

Callaway Rogue ST Max 5 Hybrid (Eh, it's ok)

Taylormade Stealth Irons 5-AW (Forgiving and long when hit crisp)

Cleveland RTX wedges 54/58 degree (simply Cleveland wedges that spin as much I can make them)

Love my wedges! 6 seasons on them now so I’m looking forward to upgrading to SM10 or whatever Vokey calls their new model next year. (The 52 only had 8 degrees bounce initially and I had it bent 2 degrees stronger to narrow the gap to PW… I hit it well but I’m really going to enjoy having a little more forgiveness on the next one!)

Brother it's gotta be my 56º sand wedge (honestly I hit my 60º and 52º just as well). It is a Cleveland CBX gen 1. I don't care how tired or warmed up I am, when I hit it, it's going 100-105 every time. I've found the most OVERRATED aspect of golf equipment is "feel" and "forged". You know what feels good and gives me confidence? Hitting the ball straight at the pin every time. So I love my cavity back wedges and when it's time to replace them in the Spring, I'm sure I'll be going with the same ones.
