Golf bags- stand or cart, and why?

Forgive me if I'm repeating here.

I bought two bags. Both HotZ. Good deals. About $250 for both. 3.5 Cart Bag. 3.0 Stand Bag. Both are 14 full length divider. Cooler pocket. Good quality. Suggested as a "sleeper" in bags. Look at prices and I have to agree.

Just received the stand bag. It looks good. The base stays at 90 degrees. It wouldn't work bad if you put it on a cart. Has velcro straps to hold the legs in when not using.

I rather prefer the cart bag. Storage a little more. It stands up just fine on level ground. I will be taking a cart. Or won't be playing. I can't walk. Working on rehabilitating so I can. Nothing would make me happier than to be able to walk a course again. So would be using the smaller stand bag.

HotZ has been making bags a long time. I imagine they make bags for others?

I bought through Rock Bottom Golf. Second order their autofill goofed up shipping address. I didn't catch it right away. Rock Bottom Golf did take care of it and ship to my present mailing address. Good company.

To be candid.... I would rather walk a field with a good Bird Dog, than to walk a golf course with people. Only problem is, I can't walk.

Just picked up a Datrek Verge bag from goodwill last week. Still had store tags on it.  Can't say what I paid,  but it was nowhere near what retail is.  It's a 14 way top, has a top putter well and a front well too.  The jumbo grips fit nicely with no binding at all!  In fact,  I've fit 2 clubs in several slots to see if I would be able to use it still. It Works great!  The bag was dusty, and front magnet pouch slightly crushed.  (It has some type of rigid edges inside that was bent on one side.

Tons of pockets too. The front pouch has a dual pocket. Zipper upper with a quick access. Will get some pics later

Nah, it's because deals like that don't happen often.  Good will is cheap, mostly, but when something has store tags and plastic in the pouches, they shoot for ebay pricing. This was not the case. It didn't have a price on it yet.

I like the cart bags durability, I like a stand bag because it’s more versatile. I would like the best of both worlds. Gonna look for one this winter at the Colorado Golf Expo in Denver in February.

I could play golf every day and learn something new each time.

I like stand bags but I find durability of the legs always seems to be an issue.  Would love to see a good stand bag that doesn’t weight too much.

I would like to see a stand bag that has a 14 way top, the same size top as a cart bag, a separate putter well on the front or side, AND a long padded or thicker cover that lays over the legs (with velcro or clips at the bottom) for riding cart use. With a pass thru cart strap feature.  I disliked how annoying it was to have my bag keep shifting sideways.

I prefer a stand bag since I usually carry my clubs. Unfortunately, some of the zippers on my current bag just broke, so I'm in the market for a new one.

I had a stand bag for a long time, even though I rarely walk. I figured that’s what I was supposed to have. Getting a Cart bag (C130) earlier this year was awesome. Slightly bigger, better storage, 14 way top with an oversized putter well and driver well, and it’s sloped the correct way for being on a cart. For me, it’s been great.

For going to the range, I bought a very inexpensive Sunday Golf bag with legs. It’s worked out better than I had hoped. It’s light, limits how many clubs I can take so I can actually work on specifics, not just hit everything, but has enough club space to allow me to work a couple clubs at the range, and a couple more on the pitching/putting green. 👍🏼👍🏼

I’m looking for a decent 14 divider carry bag.  Anyone have any suggestions?

As promised,  here's the new to me Datrek Verge setup for both riding and push cart. No need to re-arrange any clubs transitioning between the two.

2 downsides for me are no handle in the front to hoist the bag, (it has 2 grab handles on each top side) and no loops/D rings near the to clip stuff to.

But for the price I paid, I'm getting alot more of what I do like!

Also, it has a magnetic quick access pocket on the bottom front pocket.

The side pockets are identical on both left and right sides.

I did recently move back to a Maxfli carry bag and noticed last weekend while using the push cart that it just didn’t fit quite right. I have never actually carried my bag just rode and used a push cart. I’m going to use the carry bag for another round with the push cart 1 more time to see if I just had it set up wrong but may have to go cart bag when using the push cart.

I have a cobra rad speed driver, cobra fly z 3 and 5 wood, PXG 0311 P Gen 7 irons (4-GW), 54&58 degree Sub70 246 wedges, Tommy Armour #2 wide blade putter. When I’m playing to keep score I typically play the Maxfli Tour X. When just getting a round in with friends or scrambling I play whatever I might find on the course or might find at the bottom of my bag.
