New Training Aid

Recommended Posts

Greetings All,

I am looking for advice. My company created and manufactured a new training aid that we are trying to get into Retail stores and online stores. This seems like it's an uphill battle but we are moving forward. Other than the 2 or 3  biggest golf retailers, what stores and online stores to you most commonly purchase golf equipment from?

Any help or advise would be appreciated.

Thank you

Brian

There are many golf sites that do reviews and that’s where I usually find something that interests me.  From there it searching to find other reviews.  I have purchased from Amazon, Golftrainingaids.com, and even the manufacturer’s site.

TSi2 Driver, Titleist TSi2 4 Wood, Ping G410 3 Hybrid, Ping G400 4 Hybrid, Maltby TS1 5-GW, Maltby Max Milled 54, Maltby Max Milled 58, Piretti Forza.

Some folks say golf messes up a nice walk.  That’s not true, golf makes a nice walk bearable.

Honestly I think social media and competitive player adoption is an important part of growth for a training aid device. I’d recommend sending it to a few players so people In the golf community will see it and it gives the device validation.

Direct to consumer will be a quicker way to get product out quicker. It all depends on your manufacturing capabilities if it's a physical product. If you can't successfully meet order demands of going into box stores, they won't give you a purchase order approval. For example box stores such as PGA, Dick's, etc may require a minimum of 10-50k units depending on size and sq. ft. the product takes up in store.

I assume you're using third party to manufacture at bulk rate. You can go D2C and use Shopify to self manage which is very simple, then you just need a few brand ambassadors that have a slight bit of weight to help you punch out it there. You can also use golftrainingaids.com as an extra way to push it, and they just take a cut of profit. Amazon as mentioned before is pretty easy to get into store front wise as long as you've got inventory.

Good luck!

Before jumping into the box stores, I would suggest getting players using the product and places like here to do testing and see responses.

Amazon, DTC, YouTube, etc may be the best way to get started.

Have your products been through final QC development testing? I assume they have, but if not, using a place like MGS (here) or setting up a link, and offering a sign up, through social media or similar, and selecting a dedicated group to test and review your products will gain you both alot of traction and attention.   Also look into golf specific expos . But they are not cheap from my understanding to secure a spot.

Good luck, and let the administration here know if you need any further assistance!
