Popular Post injectedcutty Posted March 7 Popular Post Share Posted March 7 Hey MGS junkies, just want to do a quick intro and what I'm lugging around the course. My name is Scott, 40, born and raised in Louisville, KY. I've been playing golf literally my whole life, was dragging around clubs in a walker and hitting balls by age 2 or 3. I did play junior and high school golf, but didn't pursue past that point. I still live in The Ville, house backs up to a public course that's taken care of. That allows me time to walk out and play a few holes almost daily as long as the course isn't busy. There is a mutual understanding, I help take care of the holes by my house by cleaning up, fixing divots, fixing mole tunnels, and in turn get to play when I want! Onto my clubs. Over the past couple years I've really put more thought into my bag, and with the help of MGS I've got my bag locked in pretty good and playing well lately. For driver I'm hitting a PXG 0811X and it's done wonders for me on a budget. 3 wood is a Taylormade RBZ that I love. My 2 and 3 irons are Titleist DCI's, and 4-GW are 716 AP2 that I got gently used. I miss my Mizuno irons from way back, but I love these AP2's for sure. My sand wedge is a forged Cleveland 56° unit, and my putter is my ole faithful Ping Kushin I've had since high school in the late 90's. I usually play Bridgestone Tour RBX or ProV1, but will rock a VICE Pro Plus or close alternatives. Shoes I alternate from the New Balance Stryker or Footjoy Pro SL's. Anyways, thanks for tuning in. Bucketnative Posted March 9 Share Posted March 9 I've got a Kushin that I have since I was 12... so I've had it for 36 years, and my dad probably used it for a couple before he gave it to me. On a downhill, left to right putt, there's nothing like putting one off to the toe to let it die in the hole. I used a 3 iron for years, ended up swapping to a Titleist U510 with better consistency. I looked at one last year at golf galaxy, but they didn't have any hitting bays open to try it. I might go back at some point and test one to see how it feels since those kind of bridge the gap. Titleist has a few options in the U series, found this used at my local shop and was super impressed with it. Struggled for a bit with it last year and tried the Srixon ZX Utility…but that well but the distance and ball height just didn’t work for me.
