Shrek74
Good afternoon everyone!! It's been a day and it's only 1:45pm on Saturday. Ugh. I didn't play today as I finally wanted to get my hitting mat out and hitting net put up. The mat is out and working to flatten out. Sadly, it's going to take some time. I put a few things on the ends to hopefully help. The net, well that's another story. I bought it from Amazon, but it was from Galileo. It's a tent style, 9x7x5. Looked really nice and has a little more of a flat top between the rounded sides. I figured I'd give it a go. Well, after more than an hour of trying to get the damn thing together, both fiberglass shafts broke. Luckily I didn't pay a ton for the net or I'd be really steamed. But now I need to contact them to get the shafts replaced, if they'll even do it. But I'll probably go look for a more square/rectangular shaped net now to hopefully prevent this from happening again. It might have worked if I had another person with me helping bend the shafts evenly, and if their instructions weren't complete garbage. The "destructions" lived up to their name. I've gotten more out of the Dutch versions of Ikea instructions. Well, I'm playing tomorrow. So hopefully that'll help me out of this anger I'm feeling towards this net. Well, everyone have a fantastic Saturday!! Well, everyone have a fantastic Saturday!! I have a different brand net, same idea. No instructions! and the first time I set it up, I put them across the front then the back. Went to bend it and the back wouldn't fit! Collapsed it down and looked a moment. The rods go across diagonally!!! I staked down the left side front and back, slid the rods through the chutes in an X formation, set the left side, then flexed the right side into place. Front first, then rear. Took 10 minutes and some serious flexing to get the piece in the post anchor. Rear went in easier as the ten was now upright. Rob Person
Afternoon... is this mic on? This thread may take me a minute to adjust seeing pop up... Still at work, hour 7 of 12 completed. Seeing that I work a second job just for gold bennies, I don't really get a day off unlessi request one. I suppose that trying to remain efficient in whatever I do, has its drawbacks. One being that I tend to be an On the Spot problem solver. Management at the GC recognized that, and I seem to be placed in more and more roles as I go forward now. This was supposed to be very part time gig for me. I'm not ranting or complaining, just verbally acknowledging the place I've put myself in. Hope everyone has a great Sunday afternoon! Michael.Sandoval33
Good morn...even...afternoon everybody! Tee time got cancelled today due to course closure. No clue what happened as the refund email said nothing but "sorry". Wondering if there was some freak accident on the course or something, it was scheduled at a CC I have never played at so I really don't know. Sooo just relaxing today, nothing major on the to-do list other than getting documents in order to possibly move to another city outside of LA county into Ventura county (it's really not that far lol) but that is still a 50/50 decision for me and the Fiancé. Shrek74
Good afternoon, Spies!!! It started as a horrible day today, but the weather broke here in the afternoon. It's still going to be garbage the next two weeks, but I'll keep trying to get golf in when/if the weather breaks. Well, the 11th-15th looks to be way better now, but still 25% chance of rain. Hopefully I'll get in 18 on both the 11th and 12th. I had my first fitting in a few years today. It was with PXG for a full bag fitting. To say I'm exhausted is an under statement. 152 shots over 2.5 hours and we didn't even get to the putter or really much with wedges. Although I did hit the Sugar Daddy II for the first time. WOW!! I've never hit that many 56's and 60's that well in my life, and in a row! No matter what clubs I look to buy, I'm getting at least 1 of those (likely the 60)! That'll be my B-Day "overspend." I'll do a write up on the fitting in the fitting section here shortly while my brain is still functioning. Tomorrow is back to the same place in Knoxville for their big Demo Day. I really want to hit the P790 and P770 along with the ZX4/5 again. I didn't hit the Srixon's well at all back on the 17th, but it could have been I was just tired by then since they were the third stop I made, after Titleist and Mizuno. So I want to be sure to give them a proper chance. Well, everyone have a fantastic Friday! Shrek74
Good afternoon, Spies!! Got a round in today, finally. 2nd of the season. The rains held off outside of some drops on 12. It just did a pretty big dump about 30 minutes ago. Luckily we finished a couple hours ago and are all cleaned up and ready to chill. I shot a 43/51. Ugh. That 43 was tasting so good too. 4 pars in a 5 hole stretch, then 3 triples and 3 doubles on the back nine just blew up my hope for another sub 90 round. Lots learned though, which is always great. Only 2 lost balls, which is also good. Any time I get out 6 balls for the cart ball holders and can put back 4 in the bag when we unload is a great feeling. Well, need to sign off on my Shot Scope round and post about it in the How Did You Play thread. Then some grub and chill watching the final round of the Byron Nelson. Have an awesome Sunday all! Shrek74
Good afternoon, Spies!!Didn't get to the morning thread as when I got up, dad wanted to come up and work on replacing all my pulls on my cabinets. I replaced all the ones that didn't need additional holes, but dad came up yesterday afternoon to do the new laundry room cabinets. He's here now, and we're working on the remaining doors. It'll be so much more my style when we're done. It's still rainy and gloomy, so no golf today. Hopefully, you're able to get out to play.Have an awesome day!!Sent from my SM-N986U1 using Tapatalk Rob Person, Michael.Sandoval33, Josh Parker and 1 other 4 Quote Driver: STMax 230 10.5*, Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Blue RDX, 60g Fairways: 949x 3w / 5w, 15* / 18*, Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Red RDX, 70g Hybrids: 939x 4h, 21*, Stiff HZRDUS Smoke Red RDX, 80g Hybrid Irons: JPX923 Hot Metal Pro, 5-GW, UST Mamiya Recoil 95 F4 Wedges: S23, 54* & 60*, UST Mamiya Recoil 95 F4 Putter: Moment X Tour @ 35" & 71*, Super Stroke Pistol GT 2.0, White/Red Ball: Tour CG Technology: Anarch Rangefinder, V5 w/ Tags Shot Tracking. https://forum.mygolfspy.com/topic/65161-vortex-optics-rangefinders-2024-member-test/?do=findComment&comment=1089247 https://forum.mygolfspy.com/classifieds/ - DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE CLASSIFIEDS!!!! I've just been watching this Charles Schwab at Colonial all morning (not quite afternoon here yet). It's my first time catching any of it this weekend but the course revamp looks to have turned out great. Dead Solid Bogey
Think we are taking more break time than we are spending time picking corn… Good thing we all ( including myself ) are doing this on a voluntary basis. We would all starve if we were being paid for what we picked. Getting ready to get back at it for a few more hours… Major blessing is that there is almost zero chance of “ You-know-who “ stopping by to try and supervise the activity. The “ Empress of Ease “ is not one for getting dirty or sweaty. Moved the full body cryotherapy back to 5:00 PM.. Geezch, I hope I can still stand for the 3 minutes or so for the cryo treatment.
