dru_
Sometimes, life has a way of intruding and keeping you off the course. For the last week or so, I have been suffering from a wicked unexpected overload of work. Haven't even had time to step out into the yard for some practice swings. Outside of doing my morning yoga stretches, I've been unable to do anything golf related for nearly a week (and was sick the week prior). I'm feeling a little tight and itching to get some holes in. So my question is how about you guys? what is your 'gotta golf and can't' coping mechanism? So my question is how about you guys? what is your 'gotta golf and can't' coping mechanism? I hear you. I'm working multiple projects right now, each with up-coming deadlines, so I have zero free time and haven't gone out more than once a week and it shows in my score. On the off chance I have some free time though, my priorities are: 1) BBQ with friends 2) Golf 3) Read a book (reading Game of Thrones right now) 4) Play a game (playing Diablo 3 off and on) Golf Channel is in the background for any of these things and if I miss a good shot, DVR comes to the rescue with it's handy rewind. @GolfSpy_WD

dru_
Golf is an outlet for me, a place I can go to get away from the stress of work and just relax. Missing that outlet is making me grouchy . Oddly, I am not a TV person. I don't watch it, and certainly don't watch golf (that just makes me want to be out playing). Tyk
I have no idea how I would deal with such a thing. I'd probably quit my job if it interfered with my golf too much! revkev
Of course I had that golf down time earlier this summer with the pneumonia. I also get it in December and in the weeks leading up to Easter. I have a nice study at my work place so I'll get up every hour when I'm working there, stretch, grab a heavy book and do some mirror work with it. I do that all the time in fact. When I was sick I would go in my mud room with a putter and a couple of balls. When I was in Wisconsin and had way too much golf down time I moved to Florida. It's not a lot of fun when you are unable to play that's for sure. GolfSpy WD
Yeah, I'm not looking forward to winter. Considering how mild the last one was, I'm thinking this upcoming one will be bad. @GolfSpy_WD
ZenGolfer
Golf forums, Golf Channel, TW 13 on PS3 and putting practice on the living room carpet. Even if I dont have time to get out on the course, I always try to at least hit some balls on the range. If I dont do get a chance to do anything golf-releated, I tend to be an unpleasant person to be around. revkev
GC to start every day...I have a full-length mirror on the inside of my closet door in my office and at home &, like RK, I probably do 20-30 minutes of mirror work/day...I have one of those 10' putting mats there & @ home and I can't tell ya how many of my conference calls have been spent with me putting while talking....lol....I hate video conferencing & Skype.... If I can't get to a course I buy those 50 balls for $10 @ Wallmart and I'll hit my 3, 5, & 7Is, PW & Dr(10 balls each) into this big field/cemetary behind my property...I've also started using that "RopeIt" that has a few reviews on this site...It's nice for 7i-LW.... Then I'll usually fall asleep to GC....I know, ya don't have to say it, I got issues....But damn, I'm havin fun, I got a great girl & I got no regrets....lol.... Fairways & Greens 4ever.....
