markb
Haha I suppose I should explain why I asked that. I'm trying to decide whether I should replace my 2 iron(old mizuno mp30) with one. I hit the ball extremely high anyway and if my 2i is in the bag then I want to keep shots under the wind, which I have trouble doing. Even my 2i goes high if I want it to. Low is the hard shot for me I wish I had your problem! I'm the opposite. I tweak everything to go high. Here's a thought for you. Get a cheap lowish launching Rocketbladez 3 iron which has a loft of 18° (equal to a 2 iron) but is very easy to hit. Try to get it with a lower launching shaft like a KBS C-taper. Or have it re-shafted with a low-launcher. That might work. bag - SunMountain Synch with Ogio Synergy X4 cartdriver - Optiforce 440, Paderson Kevlar Green stiff 46.5"fwoods - Jetspeed, 3HL regularirons - Speedblades 3-8, 85g stiff steel, 2 upwedges - Scor 40, 45, 50, 54, 58putter - Ketsch 35" slight arc, SuperStroke 2.0 mid-slimball - ProV1x
sp0rtsfan86
I'm thinking about getting one. However, I'm in a weird place. My iron set is a 5-PW. I have a 4 hybrid that goes basically 5-10 yards further than the 5 iron. I'm almost tempted to drop the 3 wood and hybrid and get a 4 iron and get a 3 iron as well. That or replace my 3W/hybrid with a driving iron and go with a hybrid/5wood. It's one of those until I get to a launch monitor and figure out my distances with each style of club and what I can hit, I can't see myself pulling the trigger. Im currently looking on ebay for something along the rocketballz 3iron lines. Polly gonna bend it strong a degree or two and put a dg x7 2i shaft in to match the rest of my set. ZenGolfer
Ive gamed Mizuno driving irons in the past but I dont have the swing speed to generate enough spin to get the ball high enough in the air with them. The SLDR 3 iron (19*) top line isn't as thick as you might think. It's thinner than the SB or RB irons. It also has about half the offset as the SB or RB irons. I am seriously considering just buying a SLDR 3 iron (but with a DG X100 shaft) for times when i need to keep it a little lower and use my 19* sonartec hybrid for the days that require a lot of carry and less roll. RoverRick
Last week in this thread, I stated that I had used to game MP FLI HI's but went back to the Hogan Hybrids for higher approaches and more spin. This did not really work out the way I wanted it. I found myself wishing I had the iron like clubs last week. I wanted the hybrids because I felt I could hit and hold more greens but in reality, I would have been better off with a longer running irons. I also do not think the MP FLI HI is a true driving iron. It is more of a GI iron. A driving iron IMHO is something that needs to be hit off of a tee, The FLI HI works equally well off the turf. The FLI HIs will find their way back into my game bag. I have some new hybrid shafts and am going to alternate the FLI HIs and the Adams 9031 Pro Blacks for a while. Undershooter
Ive never been called a flipper before? Are no divots generally an indicator? Bc if so then that's not me. I usually take dollar bill sized divots. May even take a tiny one with a fairway wood depending on the shot I'm trying to hit.
