Kenny B
Would be entertaining just to see what 3 clubs everyone would pick. For me, I have to know what the par 3' lengths are. It would be best if they were all within 20 yards of each other, but that rarely happens. It's a good opportunity to practice emulating Seve. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Kenny B
When I started playing 23 years ago, I couldn't break 60 for 9-holes in our company league. They had a 3-club tournament and I shot 47 with a 5-iron, 9-iron, and putter. Clearly, I had too many clubs in my bag! But the par 3's on the course I was playing set up well for the 5 and 9. Those clubs also work well for 3-shot par 5's. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
fozcycle
Back in the 1980's when I was a member of Pine Ridge CC in Winnfield, LA we used to have a one club challenge.......my club of choice then was a 5 iron. For a 3 club challenge I would select 2 Hybrid(17*), 6 iron(29*) & PW(50*). I can Drive and putt with the 2H. Undershooter
Just guessing but would probably go with 3wood, 6 or 7 iron and 50* wedge. Kenny B
I have tried to putt with woods and hybrids without a lot of success. Since putting is one of my strengths, I can't see taking that away. Yeah, I can putt with a wood, but I have a much higher chance of 3-putting long putts and a lower chance of making any short putts that I may have for birdie or a par save. It all depends on the course and what tee I get to use, but I would probably score better with a shorter tee shot, and try to get up and down with my 9 and putter. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
McaseyM
Myself, I play either fairway wood or 19 hybrid, (depending on how they play at the range that morning), my 8 iron and my 55 wedge. Putting is always fun with the 4 wood. The current champion (3 in a row dammit) usually shoots low 80s with his driver, 7 iron and 60 wedge. deejaid
I might have to make it up that way next year for the tournament Casey. Both mine and my wifes mother had some pretty serious health issues this year so I didnt really golf or even go on the forums at all for about 6 months, but that 3 club challange sounds like fun. Does everyone get one of those patches? WITB: Stan Thompson “Reactionizer” persimmon woods 1-4 Spalding Tour Edition 3-PW Spalding Top-Flite E.V.A.
