Brjpool
I have a 4 hybrid, looking for a 3 iron or 3 hybrid to add to it. Looking for reviews and reasons why i should consider or not consider some. I'm a higher handicapper, so forgiveness is important as well as distance. BIG STU
Not really knowing your swing and or game I can maybe give some broad insight. If you go the 3 iron route I would suggest a CB with a large face big cavity wide sole with the weight down low. they are easy to hit and get air born. Actually they are pretty cheap since most folks hit hybrids or higher lofted fairways. Personally I am not a hybrid person. Now recently I have went to a 19* 5 wood because I can do a variety of shots with it. I can still hit a 3 iron or even a 2 iron blade or GI but with me getting older I am more consistant with the 5 wood. Also most modern 4 irons have a loft stronger than the older 3irons or even 2 irons for that matter. Usually you can pick up a quality 4 iron cheap in the single club racks because most folks now days do not hit them and you can have it bent 1or 2 * stronger without affecting the bounce. Now what I say is not etched in stone just a general suggestion with you saying you are a high handicapper. Heck a hybrid may work for you. You have to experiment around to see. Kenny B
I am not sure why you want a 3i if you are already playing a 4H, unless you want it for a specific shot like a stinger. If you like your 4H, look for another one in either a 3H or maybe a 2H depending on how far you hit them. @BigStu has a good suggestion; a 5W might be a better option, especially if you have trouble getting long hybrids up in the air. I find it easier to hit a little higher which will give more distance. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Golfspy_CG2
I would also echo Big Stu's suggestion of a 5w to fill that gap. That said, as a high handicapper myself, i can't recommend enough the 816 H1 line from Titleist. I have the 21 and 23 degree. They are simply the easiest hybrids I've ever hit, and launch very high. I actually have my 21 lofted down to 20 to widen the gap a bit. the 917 F2 fairways are so good, Illl probably pick up the 5w next spring sometime. Philly Golf Guy
It also depends on the head shape and type of hybrid you prefer. If you prefer a more iron-like head, which I do, the Apex is a very good choice, with a lot of forgiveness. They're versatile and I find it easier to hit it out of a number of lies over a mini fairway wood type of hybrid. Utility irons are worth a look, especially the Apex and Titleist 712U. I found both surprisingly forgiving and was getting the distance I needed as well. The big problem is that if you miss with them, it's usually a bad miss and doesn't do you any favors on the next shot.
