Hopefully TM gives you a new SIM, that would be a heck of a trade up! Switching to a stiff flex should help cure some of the slice woes if you swing hard enough.
I'll echo what others have said - getting a fitting on your current set would be my recommendation to continue to drive improvement. The pro may see things in your swing speed/spin #s/angle of attack that warrant different shafts to help keep everything under control and minimize dispersion, perhaps even gain a little yardage.
As for the 4 or 5 wood, I'd ask you the question about any yardage gaps. Do you find yourself needing a yardage that you can't get between the 3W and the 2H? If not, then I wouldn't worry about it - I don't carry a 5W, but I've I'm comfortable with the small gap in my clubs there (3W is around 240 carry/260 roll on normal swing, 3H is 210 carry/225 roll), and instead carry four wedges since I like those options playing around the greens.

Has anyone got fitted at GolfTech?
I was planning of getting a new set but before I do I want to get fitted, find out how fast I am swinging, ball speed, RPM all that good stuff. But got a quote for $125 for set of irons for an hour. Any one think that is a good price and has anyone got fitted from Golf Tech stores?

I have gotten fitted at Golftec and thought it was an okay experience. The methodology they use for fitting is pretty decent, they definitely look at the launch monitor data.
What i didn't like is that they don't have universal adapters for their shafts and heads, so they only have certain shafts that fit Callaway, certain shafts that fit TM, etc. So if for some reason there is a specific shaft that you fit into, they may not have it from another brand's heads. Club Champion and True Spec have the universal adapters.
I would say Golftec is better than the few retail store fittings that I have had.

I’ve been seeing this ad pop up on Facebook for several weeks now featuring Blair O’Neill. The pyramid putter claims to have created a gear effect on the face of the putter to correct toe and heel strikes and direct them back towards the hole.

I think MyGolfSpy needs to do some independent testing on this claim.

Just have fun and swing, enjoy the start of a new season! It snowed here Saturday night and all day yesterday, and I got what is likely my final round of the year in on Sunday morning in just above freezing temps, so already missing it.

I'm all about the different swing lengths to hit in between distances. If I was to move my hands down, then I need to change my setup to stand closer, which then changes my downswing angle, etc. -- a lot of added variables in a repeatable swing.
I go with the 7:30/9/10:30 swing distances for each club, so then I know what length of swing shows what distance, and play from there.

I've actually been doing that flipper exercise without the towel for some time and using resistance loops instead of the band, and it definitely helped with overall range of motion. Recommend that for sure.
Will have to try the soccer ball exercise, especially the circular motion part. Feel like working on that with a focus on the movement of the trail side shoulder will be of benefit.

I'm not good enough to hit my clubs exact specific distances with a full swing, so moving my hands lower on the grip does nothing for me except introduce another variable in my ball striking prowess.  With that said, I can take distance off a club by using a 9 to 3 swing.

These are both solid recommendations. I have been working with a physical therapist for a right shoulder injury, (trail shoulder) and it's a sports rehab place and the guy is a golf nut. The two that they really advocate are:
What I call the flipper. I found a picture of the general idea and attached it. (Sorry, couldn't figure out how to embed it.) They have me do it the way it is in the picture, and then turn around 180 and work the opposite direction.
Second, the decievingly simple ball trick.

This was insanely hard at first, but is getting easier, which must mean it's working. Hope these help!

I had been gaming my prior set for 7 years, of clubs cobbled together as I could afford them (during and immediately after college).

With 2020 cancelling travel plans, part of that budget was shifted to a complete new fitted bag! Got fitted by a friend who is now a pro at GolfTec, and ended up with a different set than what I would have bought on my own - was leaning towards TM woods/Mizuno irons/Vokeys, but got better dispersion and launch numbers from the Mav Sub Zeros and Pros.

GBWarPig got a reaction from GolfSpy_SHARK in Why do some struggle with a 3 wood so much?
3 wood is one of my favorite clubs in the bag, just something I can consistently put 250 down the pipe. I've had the most success, and seen friends in my group have the most success, when they stop thinking about hitting it like a wood. Lots of people go for the driver-esque swing, rather than a sweeping to mild trapping motion in the downswing, and they top it combined with overswing, which spray it out everywhere.

My tips is always to move it back towards the middle of your stance, rather than out front, and drop the trailing elbow to make sure you are getting down into the ball.

GBWarPig reacted to DaveP043 in Bushnell warranty is fraudulent
Between my wife and I' we've had 3 different Bushnell units over the years (I won one in a raffle, didn't really need a new one), and never had a problem.  Obviously I can't speak to their customer support, I've never needed support.  But since this thread came back from the dead, I'm struck by the Original Post.  It was the first post by someone who joined on that day, apparently simply to slam Bushnell.  He's never posted again to answer or clarify anything.  To me, that diminishes his credibility a bit, just like one-time posters in Tripadvisor or any other forum that features customer opinions.  So that lack of credibility leads me to look at his claim that this unit has NEVER been exposed to rain or any other kind of moisture.  Really, not once in using the unit for a year?  Perhaps he's in the desert somewhere, perhaps its the truth, but for most golfers, rain and other moisture is something that we deal with pretty regularly.  I know that mine is out in the rain regularly (in its rubberized protective coat), and I don't have problems.  I'm not here to defend Bushnell, as I said I have no experience with their customer service, but the word of a drive-by Bushnell slammer doesn't really cause me much concern.  It seems just as likely that he dropped the unit in a pond, and was angry when Bushnell wouldn't replace it for free.

I had the opposite effect from you - I couldn't get any distance out of the various non-tour balls I played (Maxfli Tour namely) from woods/irons, but didn't mind the performance around the greens as I'm not much of a check up guy, more controlled bump and run. Switched to the MTB-X and immediately gained yards, and have adapted to the spins around the green. Almost like there's infinite ways to play the game.

Might be worth scoring a sleeve of the Gamers and seeing the numbers both on a monitor and on the scorecard. Will play whatever when that scorecard number keeps dropping!

100% this. I learned a very Ben Hogan style grip, and that is neutral at all times with swing path manipulation for ball movement, so I don’t think about adjusting the way I grip the club. It’s purely my connection to transfer swing power to the clubface.

Dead on. If you can, find a Goodwill that's relatively close to a nicer private club. There's one near my house, and I've had some good finds.
Also check out the Goodwill auction site.

I think it makes total sense.
If you are DJ flexibility, you get a huge hip turn and arms are back over the shoulder, so need to fire the legs to start the downswing and be on tempo. But you aren’t DJ, so your hips aren’t turned as much, but hands should still be in a similar position.

If you start your hips/legs first, they are already “ahead” compared to DJ, so the hands have to really speed to catch up. If you drop hands first, they can get in a similar relative position to DJs hips/hands, and lead to more consistent striking.

    Great question and great responses.
I don't really think about grip because I try not to manipulate it. What feels natural has become my slightly strong grip but, I still don't think about it.
I point the club on my target line and set the club down barely holding it with one hand. Then I square my feet, hips, and shoulders to the face of my club with whatever stance fits the club. After all that, I take my grip without moving the face. This results in a slightly strong left and nearer to neutral right for me.
In other words, I build my grip from the ground up as the last piece in the chain to avoid contorting or manipulating it.

Nope, I stick with a neutral grip on all my clubs unless playing a specific shot type (like opening the clubface fully for a flop wedge).

In my opinion, changing the grip to correct ball flight is masking an issue with swing path, and would be more of a band-aid fix.

Working on ensuring the clubface is square at impact would be my step one if seeing shots veer off what you expect, then once you have that in line, working on swing path to shape the ball accordingly.
