    Morning All,
I got up this morning and got to work fine. traffic is a bear getting on base and will continue for a while. That's neither her nor there as that's not a huge issue. What I found in my email when I got in was a code that I used to register for a free golf lesson program through PGA Hope. I'm excited about this since it is holding me accountable to do what I have to in order to hit my goal of breaking 90 consistently this year. That starts on the 2nd of March and is for 6 Saturdays in a row. I'm more than ok not going and playing when I'm getting lessons on those days. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Having played golf in Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, and Missouri. I can say that Florida is mostly flat which is great and you can play year round. North Carolina and Virginia both have more hills and undulation in their courses making you have to think and remember how to hit certain shots of those lies. Missouri has beautiful courses around the Lake Of The Ozarks. Big Cedar Lodge where you can book a stay has Payne's Valley along with 2 or 3 other courses and a par 3 course. But I think it is more of what someone views as the best. I hate playing in the cold but don't mind playing when it's like 95 outside. That is me though.

I agree, the guide is fantastic…thank you to @GolfSpy_APH and the MGS team for putting it together!  Appreciate all of the hard work and effort the team puts in to make these tests possible.
Being selected for a test is just the beginning, it takes a lot of time and effort to put the equipment through a thorough test and provide the type of feedback the community is looking for.

It does get cold yes it does but I would rather play in the cold than the blistering heat! But then again I would love to play everywhere hahaha! But I have to say Wisconsin has some beautiful courses! You get to play a course in a minimum three different seasons which changes the way the course can be played and the beauty of the landscape! There are so many different courses to play to from PGA courses public links style each one different unique

So looking thru some articles and research for public courses, Wisconsin and California rank way up there. Of course I haven't played either locations but for the purpose of vacation, I would prob choose Wisconsin.
If it was living somewhere and the ability to play year-round, I'm not moving to the cold. Ha.

    Ditto
And also there are fittings and fittings - was this really a fitting or a demo day?  Big Difference there.
I saw a respondent say he had a bad fitting at Golftec - I believe it because not all Golftec's are alike.  I was fit at my local Golftec last year and it was a great experience.  I particularly appreciated the follow up - by the time I had my driver in hand I knew it was what I was fit for.  So that's another possibility of the OP - have you brought the driver in to be sure that you got what was ordered?  The gap in technology between a R11 and Stealth 2 is so great that it is hard to imagine how you wouldn't see a benefit unless you were completely missfit, there were something wrong with the way the club was built or something has gone side ways with your swing - that happens too - I've been unhappy with a new set of irons that I purchased last summer - they were great at first and then I started having issued - had to be their fault, right?

Not so fast there Indian, it was clearly me, I'm swinging much better and guess what.  All of a sudden the irons aren't so bad as I thought they were.  Actually there are pretty sweet - I'm glad I didn't sell them as I threatened to a couple of months ago.

Any way - I'm wondering if the driver came in differently from what was ordered.

I know I'll be getting the new Mizuno Pro's. I'm just not sure if it will be the 245 or the 243 model. I hit the 245's and they were amazing. After I left I realized I should probably have hit the 243 model as well to see How they performed.

    Morning all,
Woke up a minute before my alarm, and I'm not sure which is more maddening. waking up a minute before or 5 minutes before. Anyhow, today is my Monday for work. That means I have to get some info for our Industrial Health people who want to come and put these devices on us to see what awesome stuff we may be breathing in while cleaning weapons. We are also having to have noise devices to measure how loud it gets. Not sure why they are doing that now, but it goes in the medical record. I guess it's never to late for that stuff.

I don’t think the range is a liar at all unless you’re talking about ranges that only have the mats to hit off of. But even then, you can still find out if you are hitting the club face properly and not chunking it.

... Almost in the Cast vs Forged category of theories. It boggles my mind to think any athlete would not want to practice with exactly the same equipment they use in competition. The more reps the better. It absolutely makes no sense to use something that is more difficult than what you normally use.

... I don't wanna confuse this with training aids that are specifically addressing an issue you wish to improve. Faster swing speed or more descending strike with an iron can b addressed with a training aid because you are trying to develop a specific skill NOT hitting normal shots. The one that really gets me is a MB will make you focus more. Focus is focus and it can be identical with a Tour Edge E523 Hot Launch SGI 7 iron or a P7TW MB 7 iron. "I tend to swing harder with the GI because I can get away with it and I can't get away with swinging a MB harder so I make better swings". Well duh, don't swing the GI harder. 🙄

... I will play practice rounds doing things like hitting all 3/4 knockdown shots or all fades to hone in on those skills and I can't imagine hitting those with a different iron. I am practicing those shots because I will want/need to use them on occasion when I play. Hitting a knockdown 3/4 7i with an MB will react a little differently than with my T200 gamers and of course most importantly I won't be hitting that MB when I play and my score counts.

... That said, after teaching many students I am a big believer in "whatever works". If you find convincing yourself into thinking a MB will improve your ball striking, it has a chance to do just that. I had one mid index student that insisted he hit MB's better than GI's. But he changed his swing with his MB's and at first I thought he was doing it on purpose, but after several months with him I realized he had a mental block with GI's because he truly believed he couldn't hit them well ... so he didn't. He was a decent ball striker so I had no doubt a GI would improve his scores if he could swing them the same as his MB's but clearly he could not and I never brought it up again. Everyone is different and what works for me may not work for you, even attempting to do the same thing.

Wheelieb reacted to BringerofRain in New Iron dilemma
I had exactly the same thing for me. My 7 iron went from 195 to 175 when I made the switch from game improvement irons to better irons.

While the yardages took a little adjustment the biggest adjustment I had with better irons was the minimal offset. With the Game improvement irons I rarely missed right but that all changed when I got the new irons.

Of course when I got fit every shot was perfectly straight but as we know  the range is a liar.
