Congratulations to you and to all the forum staff. A leader is not someone who makes people do things, a true leader inspires people to do things. From what I have seen in only a month as a member you all are a great team, and that starts from the top. Good luck in all your future endeavors and thank you for your dedication to growing this wonderfully frustrating game!

Can’t say that I fully support this comment. Even minor improvements can increase one’s enjoyment of the game and make one feel better about themselves as a player.  Ultimately that is all us amateurs are looking for.
The best advice I have received actually came from this forum.  How I play on the course doesn’t affect my life off the course. It doesn’t increase or decrease the love I give or receive from my family and friends. It doesn’t affect my job or ability to provide for my family.  I am not, nor ever will be a pro, so trying to hold myself up to the standards that are seen on the TV weekly is only going to bring frustration and disappointment in my game.
I agree that instruction from a professional coach is the best way to improve if you are interested in total game improvement. However, if you are a weekend hacker just looking to make yourself feel better about your game then relish the small improvements. Celebrate a round with no triple bogeys. Reflect on those couple great shots you had.  Allow yourself to build on the small positives rather than tearing down your game from the negatives.
If there is a specific area of your game that is really bothering you then focus only on that area for the time being. Bogging yourself down with to many swing corrections, ball positions, club changes, etc, etc, etc, will only breed more frustration.
I fully believe that increased game enjoyment leads to game improvement.

Reiterate a lot that was already said on here….need to hit them to get an idea which is best. I have too many buddies that simply buy off rack and end up disappointed with their purchases. Clubs truly have become an investment. I pretty much view them like a car….a test drive is always a must.  Head to your local Dick’s or Golf Galaxy and give them a workout. Or you can utilize the Utry program via Global. A fitting will give you the best information but price is sometimes a limiter with those.

Give them and some others a test. Better yet get fitted. Then you can try different shafts as well.

I’d hit them all and see what works best.  Might even find that that the combo isn’t the best way to go.

Last Saturday I played in a 2 man scramble at a course that looks like it is built on the side of Mt Everest. Either the course designers didn’t have money for a dozer or it was broken down because they literally cleared trees, planted playable grass and that’s it. The grass is well maintained, but I have never seen such terrain on a course.

Anyway, we were on the par 5 18th that was so long and uphill that you could barely see the green. My partner and I both hit great tee shots to the small landing zone the hole provides, however that same landing zone has a drain directly in the middle that swallows up every drive that comes close. So there we were in this drain depression, about 215-220 out, looking up Mt. Everest at a now blind green. Took out the 3h and gave it a whack in the direction I thought best. Get up to the two tier green and my ball is sitting about 15 yards from the pin on the right tier!  Credit luck as much as any skill but it sure felt satisfying walking up to see where that ball ended up!
And before anyone asks we missed the eagle putt ☹️. But a birdie on that hole from what it looked like from the tee box was a win in our book.

Definitely!  I prefer colored towels as opposed to white myself. I am not the best at changing out/cleaning mine on a regular basis so anything that hides my laziness is appreciated.

    Thank
The purpose of a golf towel is to wipe off the dirt from the club. I don’t pay attention to every pros bag on tv but from what I see the vast majority use a white towel. As for the dirty part we have a wonderful invention to clean them.
