The ProV1 yellow seemed to perform much better than the ProV1 White, I wish the Maxfli yellows had made it into the testing. Makes me wonder if the yellow cover isn't slightly firmer which led to more distance. I am going to have to try out the Maxfli Tour S in yellow and see if that is the case there over the white Tour S

40-50 is the sweet spot for a dozen of the top end balls. 30 for DTC brands. IMO.
Titleist is obviously the benchmark and they are 55 but if you wait for the loyalty deal it knocks the price down to 42. Dicks/GG had Chromesofts buy 3 get 1 free in their 48 ball cube. Srixon runs regular bogo sales. If LA Golf got down to 40-50 i'd probably pull the trigger on trying them after seeing the ball data.

i almost bought that dang cubed box early this year and talked myself out of it...now i'm really hoping it makes a comeback again. i might have to drop into my local dicks and see if they don't possibly still have some on shelfs even though they don't show online anymore. that's a great deal.

MGS did a ball lab test on them in ‘22 and gave em an overall score of 89 in that test.
On a whim and based on that info, I had a DSG gift card and bought a dozen, and I was shocked by how well they performed for me.
Already a low spin hitter as it is, but for me, off the driver, the X LS just flies. Don’t know if it is the hexagonal dimple pattern or whatever, but I was hitting to landing areas at my home course that I was rarely ever at. Went thru that dzn and didn’t buy them again, I’m a DTC Snell/Vice guy. 
Fast fwd to just maybe a month or two ago and DSG had the cubed box sale for 48 balls at the cost of about 3 dzn. Snatched ‘em up, and once again, they’re a fantastic performer for me. I might just suck it up and buy them from here on out … especially when you factor in that they’re wayyy more durable than the new Snells. 
For reference I’m at/around 107 swing speed. 

For a mid swing speed guy here a couple things that stuck out to me:
LA Golf Ball seems to be FOR REAL. Top marks for driver and iron at mid swing speed. Still...I can't justify 60 bucks for a dozen balls.
ProV1 YELLOW was a champ. Kind of surprising to see it rate higher than the white version, must be something to the coloring proces of the cover that changes the dynamic of the ball. 
Titleist Tour Speed was a pleasant surprise and you can find some sales on them sometimes compared to the ProV so maybe save a little scratch without sacrificing much performance wise.
MaxFli keeps hanging with the big dogs. Easily the best value in a golf ball that you can get. 
Chromesoft X LS was a surprise to me, it's the one ball that I haven't tested out at all, going to have to throw a few in the bag before I definitively settle on a ball.
 
As of now, i'd like to go pro v1 yellow but due to cost i'll end up sticking with my Maxli Tour Yellow (i do wish the Maxfli Yellow had made it into testing considering the difference in performance between the prov1 yellow/white but iiwii.)
 
Quickie Edit: TAYLORMADE TP LINE...BIG WOOF. Absolutely atrocious performance from them. Their Tour Response ball graded out better.

granted i only look at the mid swing speed data as that matches up with my own swing but none of the DTC brands were particularly impressive. they all lagged behind Maxfli.

The Chromesoft X LS is a great ball if you are looking for higher compression and low spin. This ball goes a long way and still bites on the green. It just won’t spin back excessively. 

Keep in mind that the Sam’s Vice double dozen is the 1st gen Vice Pro (just know that it is the same ball that was tested in the 2019 MGS ball test, subsequent tests were a different ball). The current gen Vice Pro (2020) has the newer Foremost cover formulation that is noticeably more durable.

First thing I do every morning it check for this! haha counting down the days. I was hoping it would be out before my next golf trip a week from today but looks like I'll stick to Maxfli Tour X for the trip and look forward to seeing the data when I'm back! This is easily the most exciting golf info for me personally. I get so excited every test! haha

Nice to see a great ball lab for the new Tour S ball. I have played my best golf with the AVX and Tour S this summer...now that the yellows have dropped I think i'll be going all in on the Tour S. 
Just holding out for the actual ball test data before I pull the trigger.

FWIW the AVX has always been my favorite ball and I've been playing the Maxfli Tour S as well this year, I don't notice any difference between the two other than what they cost me to buy them.

I have been playing the new V3s recently as I burned through all of my demo V1x balls.  The V3 isn't bad, but the high spin off of long clubs is noticible.  Distance as well as bigger slices are suffering, especially compared to the V1x.  Handling around the greens has been good.  I do like the feel of the V3.

Went into the store to pick up 4 dozen. When I was trying to get the 4 dozen for $120 rate the computer kept messing up and wouldn't honor the price. Guys working there were getting pissed the computer wouldn't work and ended up giving me a bit more of a discount out of frustration. 🙂 Regardless, I got my balls and I'm playing Friday.
