  1. New intro for TXG in their videos signally even more a new era for them. I know it has been said, but I'll say it again. Matt and Ian worked so well together in that combination. Nothing against Mikey or his dynamic with Ian, but TXG had struck gold with Ian doing the deep dive on the numbers and Matt hitting the ball. The back and forth and was well the best. There is a way different feel to the videos with Ian hitting and one that isn't as dynamic. All the info is there and the same analysis, but there is certainly a different feel which seems flatter and less dynamic. Maybe it will just be getting use to it, but I hope they find a groove which will bring that spark back. Or maybe I'm just being too harsh?
  2. More releases from Mizuno! Woohoo Excited for these as they have always been kind to me.
  3. As you can imagine I've been following this thread pretty closely. A few things I want to say I appreciate everyones views and opinions and how they have been expressed. I think this is a pretty touchy thread and the constructive solid conversation and back and forth is a huge reason why I want to be part of this forum. I can't speak to what was said on the main site as I don't know who/why what was said was said? I haven't hit the new Stealth driver even though I think the new tech is cool and do have it on my shortlist. I will also admit that probably a year and a half ago I unsubscribed and set my youtube to ignore Ricks videos. Simply put I didn't enjoy them and wasn't finding value in them. I also recall there being a podcast of his I listened to and he was talking about shafts/fittings which really disagreed with me. For me and his content it was time to move on so I did. Someone also mentioned that at one point he was working on a better testing method with someone from New York. I was excited for this as even though he hits what I'm sure is more then 10 shots), it was quite often 10 shots which were shown in videos and those same 10 shots are the basis for the data shown (again keep in mind I haven't watched one of his videos in nearly a year). The testing method he was talking about was seemingly going to be more robust and consistent. However I think Covid and change in locations may have had something to do with that never quite taking shape... I dunno? Again I've read every comment on this thread and believe this is a good example of makes this forum so great. We have a pretty divisive topic that could easily fall deep down the rabbit hole and have to be shutdown and ppl warned and so on, yet we have nearly 100 posts of back and forth with varying reviews that has been constructive with no real BS. I hope that at some point we find/hear more about this as I do think we have hashed out what has been said on both sides at length and talked on various other points, but appreciate what everyone is bringing to this conversation and who knows maybe the most wanted testing will show some data that none of us really expected?
  4. Take this as a member, not a mod as I have zero insight into the workings of and the goings on with NPG. However I did notice that Miranda has been taken off the staff list on the main site. So I would imagine that has something to do with it as she hosted the show/podcast. In addition I think the Christmas and Holiday break would have had something to do with it. I would imagine we will see more or another new episode soon after all the 2022 releases have come out recapping a lot of it and going into other topics.
  5. Glad that didn't last long, but do hope that you are able to take it easy coming back and not have any setbacks! I wonder if there are other stories out there which haven't been covered such as Mizuno JPX made for Brooks type story? That one really stuck with me and I thought was a awesome selling point for the club. I would also love to (not sure why I haven't made one) about clubs which have stood well past their life cycle. Off the top of my head Taylormade M2 (1st edition) which was used by so many years and years after release. The Cobra F7 3 wood has a cult like following (I know I still have mine and love it) and even irons like the Ping i210. A replacement is likely to be coming at some point, however 4 years past release it is still a "current" club in pings lineup. I'm sure there are many many others... Stensons 3 wood that would make for good threads/conversations that may not have been covered in depth.
  6. Do your best to make sure you have 5 guys starting each week. It won't always be easy or possible, but gives you your best shot at scoring points. Outside of that I always like to roster guys I enjoy watching or cheering for. Join in on the Slack Channel and there is a lot more discussion there as well!
  7. Spent a few minutes going through their release post and some of the comments. Man tough reading if I'm honest. I would say 1 in every 20 (if that) are positive. There will be a lot of questions about this during the live in a half hour and I hope they have the answers. TXG built such a loyal and informed following over the years and it would be a shame to see it disappear because of this. A comment that really stood out to me is as we I'm all pretty sure loved the combo of Matt and Ian together. That was TXG in a way, now with Matt being going and leaving so abruptly there has to be something that really didnt' sit right with him. I won't speculate as he has gone through enough and I really am glad to see all the support (comments on his insta post) he has gotten from so so so many. I really hope for the best and as I said in my first post in this thread is I don't know much about CC outside of what ppl have said and it certainly doesn't look great. I'm hoping, truly hoping, that TXG can be the one to change CC and not the other way around. In any case I'm sure there will be lots more discussion after the live.
  8. Feel free to check out our Buy and Sell section and post this there.
  9. We all still really appreciate your review that was done on the clubs. Tier 1 class! However yes, the news of Matt leaving stings...a lot. I pulled my subscription a few months back as I felt something had changed within their videos and not that I didn't like their content, but I certainly wasn't as eager to watch it as I had in years past. Wishing all the best for Matt and his career moving forward as well as his overall well being. He will certainly be missed and did an amazing job bringing TXG to the heights it achieved.
  10. Having had zero experience with Club Champion I would love to hear how you all think it would effect TXG? My first thought is that TXG is willing to sell and hopefully keep their brand, but hopefully with a large company backing them they can further look to expand into more areas and more stores? Keeping on that I wonder how much the restrictions in Ontario have effected them? It is a hot spot in Canada and maybe this will help them on a strictly business end of things? Regardless interesting development and I hope that it is they are only being bought more in name and will continue with their TXG brand and more or less just be a sister company so to speak without being asked or forced into a direction that they want to be in. That being said I don't see Ian being the type of owner to do that and maybe again this will open up further opportunities for them!
  11. just going to merge this into the 2022 Releases Thread. There will be lots more coming! Can't wait for the new Cobra lineup, PXG 0311 hit the USGA conforming list. Titleist will have their new wedges. I'm sure we will see some new things from Ping and likely Cleveland? I don't think much will come out new from Mizuno that already hasn't been discussed or released, but maybe another new driver or two?
  12. I have a Ogio Goliath cart bag with 14 and putter well. My stand bag is 6. That being said I'm picky and have my bag organized that each club has a specific home so not sure i would like less then 14 for a cart bag. For me the consistency of clubs in the same spots is awesome. Only pet peeve is order of them when on the bag of a cart vs pull cart as the bag or orientation is flipped. Then i have to take it all out and redo it... Grrr
  13. I think 2nd round picks are relative given our size of the league and so on. I agree Rahm is #1 through and through and expect him to be off in the first 6 picks (yes 6 because we are bound to have a autopick). This year is again a bit different then the previous seasons we have played. This is I believe my 4th season with the MGS Fantasy golf and we have had start/sit like this year, best ball and before I believe it was 4 in start sit. There are always good pick ups each year on the waiver wire and always nice surprises from players like Corey Conners a couple years ago to disappointments like Jason Day and others who have seemingly really fallen off. In the end it is a long season and a well rounded team will make a far greater difference then a stacked team... at least that is my thought. That being said I do really appreciate the commissioners moving up the Trade Deadline to just before the Open (pretty sure thats when it is). I think this will put a greater focus on waivers and having a team setup a little earlier with less immediate focus on FedEx Cup standings. Even tho we all know those will matter, but in the end the top 30 guys only matter IF you manage to make the final and even then when we look at last year @blackngold_blood pretty much had the title wrapped up after the first 2 weeks meaning it was only the top 125 and top 70(?) players in that section that made a big difference. Either way good luck to all this season should be a absolute blast!
  14. Very much along the lines with this topic we have a great AMA going on with Fit For Golf! Check it out!
  15. For the magaizines itself I have enjoyed all the behind the scenes, out of the ordinary and course architecture stories they have. Even tho I have them all I haven't read them all as yet. I do have them on display though! As for the discord they have made it essentially a forum. Tons of different topics from buy & sell to get togethers, parenting and a whole lot more. It is why I am having a harder time to get into as if I have the choice of spending time on here or there it is always going to be here. That being said with it being a more immediate chat style I can see the appeal to it as well. Part of the reason I'm hoping there are a few spies that can help enlighten me and sort through a lot of it. Another example is we have a slack channel for our fantasy sports which is great. Another way to interact with members on that topic specifically. This is essentially that, but for ALL topics we could find on the forum. Back to the magazines or journals, the photos they take and the perspectives of some stories are really cool. A street golf one stands out in particular where it was very engaging and made me really want to explore that even though it was somewhere in Africa. I started with the podcasts with DJ Pie and really enjoyed those, the stories are outside normal golf which I enjoyed and is what lead me to look more magazines in the first place.
  16. I've been a subscriber to the Golfers Journal for a while now and it is typically what my parents get me as a Christmas gift each season. Recently I found out about their discord and joined in. It is a interesting concept and I've taken some time to get into it. There is a lot of content there and being as involved with the forum as I am it is hard to dive into another one. That being said it is pretty interesting and is kinda like an app/forum for their platform. I'm curious if we have any other spies who either are part of their discord or subscribers to their journal/magazine?
  17. I feel like all these threads should be merged together... but then a new one would just pop up. However @RickyBobby_PR is right. Sadly this has been discussed at length time and time again and we all know the general reason why. It sucks, but is part of the time we are currently living in. Add in the way golf has boomed over the last couple years and it just compounds a already large issue. With that best thing you can do is be patient and wait like everyone else or cancel the order and wait for new stock if you don't want to get a product that is already "old."
  18. Would be cool if you do your own club stamping on them! Good luck and looking forward to how the project turns out.
  19. I may have to watch the video because altho I think I can make heads of it, the epic max and max LS look so much different. Are the colors thickness' or just the hotter spots on the face?
  20. It was interesting what TM had to say in regards to face size. Essentially because the metal face was heavier manufacturers were very hesitant to go above a certain size because it would throw all the CG and MOI off. However now that it is carbon and there is so much weight savings they can make a bigger face without those previous drawbacks. It makes sense and if you can make a bigger face and in theory a bigger sweet spot it can only be beneficial for golfers of all skills.
  21. Are you saying that at times you are like me and just spam offers to as many as possible and see what hits? haha I do recall a trade last year that happened and you went oh, right forgot about that one... wish I had pulled that offer.
  22. This has been a pretty wild couple days for releases. It is almost too hard to keep up with it all.
  23. Thats interesting and I wonder if that will be on youtube at any point. It is also one of the reasons why I would love for it to work for me as I have a couple Callaway shafts that have worked well for me in the past and could switch them around to see what works best with what.
  24. Love this thread and what it brings. I gave the NLU goals podcast a listen and they went over it as well. My goals for this year as it relates to golf are certainly different from previous years. Goal 1: More at home practice. I have a net, mat, space and my puttout so I'm all set just need to be more active in doing so. Goal 2: Find a golf/work/family balance. Baby is due in the next month which adds an extra element. I worked 60 hours a week from May-September last year with 3 days off in that period so I need to find more time for me, family and golf and less time at work this next season. Goal 3: Find my on course game again. It has been a while since I've played to my potential and it is mainly just due to a lack of time so making time to go to the range, get rounds in will be important to me. Thats about it, no handicap goals, no specific game goals as this year is more or less be me finding the time again to play and making it all count. In a nutshell quality over quantity.
