  1. False advertising with the headline...I really expected much worse. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  2. I'll be there around 2ish on Sunday. Let me know when you plan on being there?
  3. Yeah, great point. To me last years model sat closed. Although the 190 sits open it may benefit me a bit as it encourages me to roll my wrists a bit better and follow thru. Going to try to hit it this week outdoors.
  4. I had no idea. So who will be the winner? Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  5. Nice work DawgDaddy! I hit these at True Spec and they couldn’t beat my Launchers. The fitter reached out to me the very next day and told me they fit a guy into the Big Bertha irons....he was using the Launchers. I can see how these could be neck and neck. If you can convert Ole Grey I may need to take another look. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  6. Yep I think I’m going to check it out with my twins on Sunday. Never been to a show like this so it could be cool....for me at least! Let me know if you’d like to try to connect for a quick handshake and hello? It would be nice to put a face with the name. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

  8. I'll bet Goodell can't wait to see the evidence in this case.
  9. Haha, old news in these parts. In a strip mall no less. Spygate Deflategate Penetrategate
  10. Why limit the use of the Hammer to the range? Get that thing out on the course and share your thoughts with all of us.
  11. After a day of golf and a night of drinking bought a driver from a late night informercial. Iron Byron crushed this driver further than every other driver they compared it to. Had to have it, lasted 2 rounds in my bag. I wish I could remember the name of it.
  12. Very good topic, I’ve been curious about this myself. I tested the Launcher HB irons last year and they are firmly in the bag. I still like to look but reality sets in and I realize these are about as good as it will get for me. After reading others reviews on MGS I have in my bag the Cobra 3/4 and 5/6 fairway woods as well as Cleveland CBX wedges. Currently eyeing a couple of drivers but do I really need a new one is the question I keep asking myself. Also close to pulling the trigger on a putter fitting. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

  17. I finally got the ST190 in my hands today in Nashville. The look is fantastic but boy does it sit open at address. Those of you that have hit this club did this impact performance at all for you?
  18. Does this change anything for anyone? TGW TESTS THE TOP 10 GOLF BALLS OF 2019 Golf Balls, Golf News | 7 | As golfers gear up for 2019, now is the perfect time to consider which golf ball they’ll be putting in their bag. This year’s offerings include new versions of popular golf balls like the Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x, TaylorMade’s TP5 and TP5x, and the Z-Star and Z-Star XV from Srixon. Other manufacturers are bringing new models to the golf course such as the Bridgestone e12 and the Callaway ERC Soft and Supersoft Magna. At TGW, we put together this handy guide so you can see how these golf balls stack up against each other. Whether you’re looking for a Tour-performance ball or a ball to help with game improvement, we broke down the information you need to know to choose the right ball. HOW WE TESTED All of the data for this test was collected on the same day during an indoor hitting session using a Foresight GC2 launch monitor. Golf ball testing was conducted by Rick Hatfield, head golf professional at Flint Hills National Golf Club and TGW’s resident product guru. We collected average spin rates for each golf ball with a driver, 7 iron, and wedge as well as distance for each club. Rick used a Cobra King F9 Speedback 9° driver, adjusted to 8° and standard length, a Callaway Apex 19 7 iron, and a Callaway Mack Daddy 4 54° wedge. Each manufacturer may rate compression through a different test, so a golf ball that rates a 75 on one test may rate as a 70 or 80 on another. Also, with the latest materials and technology, manufacturers can make a golf ball feel softer than it is. A ball might have a compression rating of 75 but they can make it feel and play softer than that actual number. DISTANCE BALL WINNER Our pick for best ball from the distance category is the Callaway ERC Soft golf ball. This ball graded out high for a few reasons: ERC Soft ranked first or second for distance with every club when tested against the other distance balls Good spin for ideal distance off the driver Solid spin off the irons to knock it close or hold the green The most spin off the wedge of any distance ball tested giving you more control around the greens Triple Track Alignment system is an added bonus for putting TOUR PERFORMANCE BALL WINNER The winner in the Tour Performance category is the Titleist Pro V1x. Here is why we loved this golf ball: It ranked high enough in distance while maintaining the control better golfers want in their golf ball Extremely low spin off the driver make this a powerful golf ball in the long game Second highest spin rate off the 7 iron allowing you to hit the ball close and hold greens Highest spin rate off the wedge for incredible control in the short game If you’re looking to improve your game, there are a number of new offerings for 2019 designed to help you play better golf. Bridgestone’s e12 Soft and Speed golf balls were created based on 12 years of swing data for golfers who want long, straight distance without sacrificing soft feel. Callaway’s newest entry, the ERC Soft (named after founder Ely Reeves Callaway), is their longest ball with soft feel, boasting a new hybrid cover and their signature Graphene Dual Soft Fast Core. Callaway also put a new spin on the Supersoft golf ball with the Supersoft Magna, an oversized golf ball that is longer, straighter, and more forgiving due to its higher center of gravity. For golfers looking for performance just like the pros, some popular Tour-level golf balls all got updates for 2019. The sixth generation of Srixon Z-Star and Z-Star XV golf balls feature a new Slide-Ring Material in the cover to dig deep into grooves on wedges and irons, giving you maximum spin and control. TaylorMade’s TP5 and TP5x golf balls were upgraded with a high energy transfer material called HFX that acts like a stiff spring through four increasingly stiff layers to boost ball speed. The 2019 Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls are made with a 17% thinner cover and a new casing layer that increases ball speed and lowers spin in the long game.

  20. I used to play a course with tight fairways but luckily the rough wasn’t bad. When I questioned it the pro said it was to save money by not having to mow as much. He didn’t give me a number but how much could it be to make a couple more runs up the sides with the mower? Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  21. Damn that’s a lot of golf. Let’s say you played zero rounds since April...what would you do instead of golf? Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  22. I am right there with you on the D2+ Feel. It really is a good ball and will be my gamer to start the year. Long, straight, stops enough and great in the wind. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
