I consistently hit 85%+ of fairways but could use distance, so, no. Shot 78 yesterday, hit 12/14 fairways but only 7 GIR because driving distance leaves me with a longer club into the green. If it wasn’t for my putting I would be shooting >85.

Rather play with better players unless they’re slow. Our biweekly game has players ranging from + to 12 HCP’s. Always learn something from the better players.

So far pared all but one hole at my club this year and birdied 72% of the holes. Starting Jan 2 in NC. I’m a slow starter so more birdied holes on the back 9 vs front.

I used to use Arcos but the fee kills it for me. Tried ShotScope and just didn’t work for me. Currently using The Grint and I like it…if I can remember to use it! I have access to Shot Pattern and would use it if it also kept score.

When I did watch it totally messed me up trying new “fixes”. Someone in this thread commented “why take swing fixes from someone who’s never seen your swing”. So true. Only guy I’ll watch is Breed (but he talks too much ) and only for tips, not fixes, on what I’m working on with my instructor.

I heard our PGA Tour Superstore (Raleigh) was smaller than the one in Charlotte but it’s about 3x the size of the largest Golf Galaxy near me in Cary, NC. I doubt GG will shutdown and hope they don’t since it’s about 2 miles from my house.

I grew up just up the road from Destin....didn't play golf then and Destin was nothing more than a sleepy fishing village at that time (60s). No condos, no golf courses, no wall to wall people, no traffic.....nothing like it is today!!!
Now Destin is a madhouse. Used to vacation there in the ‘90’s but it got too crowded.

Times have changed for sure, I played all of these courses back 10 - 12 years ago for $50 or under. The best bang for the buck in that area in Windswept Dunes. It's a 20 minute drive out towards Freeport. I believe it's the longest course in Florida.
Played Windswept Dunes when it first opened. I think the tips were 7700 yards. Very nice track

Sorry but you haven’t played in humidity until you’ve played in the South (I’m from Illinois and living in NC).
Footjoy has a glove called Tropicool that I’m using specifically for humid conditions. So far it’s worked well…much better than a rain glove. $15 on Amazon

Longleaf is vastly improved since US Kids took it over. Unfortunately, they did away with their old bar during the renovation (it was a classic). Played there earlier this year and it was in great shape.
if you haven’t played Tobacco Road curious what you think about it. Target golf at its best.
We are playing Talamore, Mid-South, Pine Needles and Mid Pines in August.

We played Tot Hill Farms last week ($39 on Group Golfer) and for most of us it was our first time. I think all 8 of us enjoyed it. Not nearly as crazy as Stranz’s Tobacco Road. We all live in Raleigh and it was a bit far but we would definitely play it again.
Have fun!

I’m not a gym rat but I saw the Golf Digest has online weight/fitness training. Anyone try this? Anyone you recommend? Also considering Yoga for Golf. Looking for someone who can keep my 67 year old frame going. Thanks.

Deschuttes just came to Raleigh, NC. Draft only but bottles soon. Now if we could only get Ironhorse (Irish Death) or Funky Buhda (Last Snow) my life would be complete.

Club Championship this past weekend. Given my age I played in the net division. Shot 77 first day and won 2 skins. Second day . Came in second place, missed first by 3 strokes.
