Man, these numbers you guys are putting up are crazy. I am in the market for a new hybrid, but the question I have is will I hit it too far? I have my 5 wood and love it, I don't want to replace it. I hit it around 240 yards. I am looking at getting a 20 degree but by the looks of the numbers you all are posting, I'm not sure the 20 degree wouldn't go about 240 yards. Does anyone have a higher lofted one and if so, how far are you all hitting it? I know each of us will hit these clubs diferent lengths but like others have mentioned, I don't want to drop $200 plus on a whim.

I am testing both the black and the X, and I have to say I think I am in the minority with liking the black better. The black feels a bit softer to me and I notice more spin around the greens. Distance wise, I don't notice one being longer than the other. The X has a more "clicky" feel as it should since it's a more firm golf ball. Launch is also pretty comparable. I tend to launch the black a bit higher as well but, again, nothing considerably more than the other. I just like the feel around the greens (inside 100 yards) better with the black. Good luck

I have played in a few nice tournaments that have great swag...usually member/guest tournaments. I just recently (in the fall) played in one and got a Titleist hybrid golf bag with the course logo on the ball pocket. Now I think the best gift of all was many years ago I played in a celebrity tournament and I was paired with Johnny Unitas. At the time, I had a sporting goods store and he signed a ton of memorabilia for me so I could hang it in the store. So did I get a gift from the tournament...not necessarily, but all the celebs took pictures and signed autographs so I'm going to count that.

Where is this? I would come to NJ for something like that!

We have lifted restrictions as well with both, pins and rakes. When I play alone, I leave the pin in, however if I am playing more competitive I prefer the pin out. Visually I think that the hole looks better to me. It's easier for me to aim or to visualize a cup to the left or a cup to the right etc.

I thank you all for the birthday wishes. It was a beautiful day to get outside and play. I grinted the round so I now have an official entry into the Grint challenge. Cheers everyone!

I appreciate it! Thank you. Planning a little golf and then some yard work. haha

So now that the weather is getting warmer, I started down this rabbit hole. I did the Titleist ball demo a while back and was fitted into the ProV1 and the Left Dash, this past year I was playing the Srixon Z star XV, and the year prior I was playing the Bridgestone BXS. I decided to try the Snell line this year as well....so this is where I am at so far: I am NOT liking the Srixon due to quality control. I posted on here a while ago about the cover and ball not being very durable so therefor once my stash is gone, I am not going back to them. To be fair, Srixon gave me a few dozen balls to make up for some cover issues but I still don't think they are very durable so they are out! Left dash is also out, just didn't fit what I wanted the ball to do. While ProV1 is a nice ball, as expected. I LOVED the Bridgestone line from two years ago and I may go back to them if I find a deal but unless that happens I have to say probably out as well. I've played a few rounds with both Snell balls and I have to say I like the black better than the X. I thought it would be the other way around but the black just feels better to me. So I did a head to head one day (tee shots, mid irons and chipping) and I have to say the Snell Black was right there in the mix with the ProV and Bridgestone. So I gotta ask myself, why pay all the extra money for a ball that is comparable to the other two more expensive ones? As of now, it's looking like Snell Black for me this year!

Fairway metals... What have you hit this year?
ballplayer002003 replied to PMookie's topic in General Equipment Talk
I'm with ya on that! I don't mind doing that either. I find year to year clubs don't change much aside from looks. Now I will say, I think they improve much more over say a five or six year time period. -
Nice little quick read https://www.playbetter.com/blogs/products/approach-s12-s42-s62-garmin-golf-watch-comparison

Curious, did you try the Rad Speed by chance as well or did you just try the speedzone? -
Saw this and thought it would be a good watch for ya

Who Changed their swing and ruined their golf game
ballplayer002003 replied to Gg Owen's topic in The 19th Hole
Let's be honest...if you've played golf for any amount of time, this has happened to all of us at some point. I constantly tinker with my swing. I know I shouldn't, I should just keep the same swing but I guess I keep searching for that holy grail that just doesn't exist. -
Dynamic Gold x100 120g Alternative
ballplayer002003 replied to MarcoMc19's topic in Golf Balls/Shafts/Grips
I really like my Nippon Modus 120x. I also had the DG 120 x100 shaft in an older set of irons, but the Nippon is just a smoother shaft in my opinion. I too hit the ball high and my numbers are very similar to yours. I can lean on them a bit and they respond perfectly or I can swing a bit smoother and they still do exactly what I want. -
Nippon Modus players, question for you guys
ballplayer002003 replied to bens197's topic in Golf Balls/Shafts/Grips
That's just it, we are losing our own personal feel with clubs nowadays. The Modus just feels right to me. Am I maximizing my iron shaft? Maybe not, but if the shaft feels good to me, gives me the flight characteristics that I'm seeking and gives me the distance I want, why would I NOT choose it over what a computer is telling me? -
I see PXG the same way I see guys driving Hummers. When they first came out everyone wanted one, now when I see one I just laugh and think they are a bunch of a-holes. No offense if you drive a Hummer. Same goes with PXG. Typically, the guys I see with PXG's suck. They want to be noticed on the course, but can't hit the ball worth a damn.

I too am looking at replacing my 3 wood (Titleist 917 f2) and I first looked to see if MGS had their list up yet. I ALSO went to TXG and saw that they REALLY REALLY liked the Cobra Rad Speed. I don't have any golf shops around me so I can't easily get my hands on a lot of different clubs to try. I have also heard the Srixon is a beast as well. As of now, I am interested in trying the Cobra, TSi 2 and 3, and the Srixon. I would also consider the Ping. I generally don't like Taylor Made stuff, just don't like the feeling and I want to stay away from Callaway since most of my bag is Callaway. haha. I just need to wait for some demo days (if they have them due to Covid). -

Here is my two cents, I played the Modus 120x in my old set of Mizuno's JPX 900 forged and loved them. Last year I was selected to test the Ping g410 irons and went in for my fitting. They used the Mizuno shaft fitting tool and I hit a few shots as one does. What the fitting tool said I should use was the Dynamic Gold X100 120 shafts. Yes, I like my shafts heavy not light as most golfers would scoff at that idea. It DID NOT recommend the Modus for me. Anyway, I had the Pings built with the Dynamic Gold shafts and played them for a while. The DG shafts felt like a 2X4 with an iron head one one end and grip on the other. I didn't mind that. I had no problem hitting them. Eventually, I determined the Ping's were not for me anymore, so I bought the Callaway Apex combo set '19. What shaft did I put in them...I went back to the Modus 120x. Yup, the shaft analyzer did not recommend the Modus AT ALL, yet I am playing it anyway. I find the Modus to be exactly what I want in a shaft. It's launch is ideal for me. I can swing smooth or I can stand on one and the shaft reacts how I want it to. I find the shaft to be very smooth in transition and I have a quick transition, my swing is like Rahm or Finau, short back swing quick transition. Distance is not a problem either. I hit 7 iron 170, I don't need to hit it any further. If you have not tried the Modus yet, I would recommend you try it. -
