To me it's the PXG effect.  PXG rocked the market with extremely expensive clubs.  All other brands took notice, and now the prices are rising.  Golfers won't stop buying because well marketing on new shiny clubs is so good.  So now all make more money and we lose on the "value".  Thanks PXG 😕

Isn't that always the question?  Although as consumers, we are never satisfied without having the Latest and Greatest.  Every time we play that question creeps in, what am I leaving on the table.  
Flip side, I've been upgrading this and that.....handicap isn't moving 😞

Would love to see your Srixon Zx vs T100 data.  I also love Modus 120s.  I've done several fittings and demos, Modus 120 always the best fit shaft for me.  

@dlow206 its tough to just throw out a profile for "diggers" your equipment setup looks fantastic and you have invested in your game for sure... That being said sometimes something as simple as a lie angle change can help with that... In general though when some tells me that I tend to have them try Srixon/Hogan irons because of the V sole which is the best when it comes to turf interactions.... If you want I am happy to do a quick swing analysis if you could send me a down the line and face on along with any LM data plus your profile (height weight club head speed with a driver & 7i) and maybe we can find the root cause... I myself will be looking at the new srixion irons when they come out as my next set...

I'd call them criminally underrated in terms of quality and performance TBH. I gamed a combo set for a bit and it was solid. I'm considering doing the same for the ZX series, going ZX5 for 5-6 and ZX7 for 7-PW. We shall see!

I started with 4-W of 785s based on a 7 iron fitting.  4 and 5 were so bad for me, so snatched up some 585s.  Those things are launchers, so much fun to hit the 4 and 5 iron again.  I used to dread it.  Only wished I had gone with the 6 iron as well.  Its so hit or miss for me.  Absolutely love it on good strikes, but I get a little toe side and it loses 20 yds.  Zx5s and 7s in like the W and 9 might be the way to go for me.  Can't wait to hit them. 

you could also combo a 585/785 set.... these irons are some of the best you will ever play.

Almost pulled the trigger on the Z785’s, and all signs indicate it will be tough to keep the set I have instead of grabbing the ZX7’s. The v-sole is legit. I tend to be a little steep with my swing. Time will tell!

It’s one of several reasons why cobra always had the “cheap” moniker associated with the brand. Despite how good many of their iron releases were people viewed them as cheap and the interest wasn’t there

i see that with some of my buddies i play with. 
they swing wide open at the range and then throttle it back on the course. 
i think it’s knowing that a huge mishit on the range doesn’t cost you anything. you’ve got 100 more to work it out. 
that’s two strokes on the course. 
that’s my theory. i’m no doctor, but i did stay at a holiday inn express last year

I am generally finding similar results re: ball speed so far. It is every bit as fast as my Epic, but isn't some world beater. To Titleist's credit, I don't think they are making any grand promises to hit new ball speed records, but they are touting a focus on ball speed consistency across the face, which should in theory help me more often.

Well that was a surprise. Like many of you, I'll hop on eBay and see what sort of sticks are ending soon and seem a bit under-priced. This one seemed to fit that bill:

Never hit a Honma before. To be fair, I did do like a minute of research before bidding and it seems like it might be a good fit with my less than overpowering driver swing. Will be super interested to see what it does compared to what I have in the bag now (Tommy Armour Atomic) and if I hate it, I guess that'll teach me to bid on stuff I don't necessarily want/need!

Chip, you may want to consider the Mitsubishi Diamana D Limited, or D+ Limited, as well as Fujikura Ventus.
I believe that these also are low launch, low spin shafts and should be close to the profile you may be looking for.

Yes, thanks to @jlukes I caught on to him when they had like 5,000 followers and scheduled the fitting, Matt said if I agreed to have it aired on their channel they would do it at no charge.  So I swallowed any fears about having my swing exposed to the world and went for it.   It was such a great couple days there.  Played golf with @newballcoach and Matt the day before the fitting, then spent the better part of the day fitting and filming and just hanging out with them.
The fact they had 5,000 followers when I reached out and went to over 100,000 AFTER my fitting video.  Well just saying...😁
