Planning on getting some new Sub70 699's with the Project X Rifle shafts. But my main question is grips. Currently I have the midsize Golf Pride Core Grips, which are great but want to get the MC for the new clubs.
What are y'all's thoughts? What grips have you tried and why you like/dislike them?

Very proud of myself today. Shot a 39 playing 9 holes with 3 mates. New personal best by 6 strokes. My long game wasn't bad but my short game was on fire.🔥

Has anyone tried the Sub70 699 irons? Their price tag is very appealing. I tried the demo clubs and they gave me extra yardage without sacrificing accuracy. But wanted to hear from you guys rather than just what their website reviews were saying.

Between window shopping and hands on demoing, I would complete this and use it as a guide for your final decision.

Awesome, glad to hear. the 699 4 iron was not as thick as id imagine, which is good. It is a cannon for me, i could only imagine a whole set of them with project x shafts.

Pulled the trigger on the 699's. Have already played 4 rounds of them and absolutely love them! Got the Project x rifle shafts, amazing, MCC midsize grips, amazing, and then of course the 699 that look great at address and even better putting the ball on the green. Extremely happy with my purchase!!

I never thought about that until you mentioned it. Moving the logo on the backside does prevent aligning my hands properly. Especially if the logo is just off everything else will be offset. I will have to remember that next time i re-grip my clubs. Hell i will have to remember that when I play next time so that I don't line up my hands incorrectly!!

Pkkenny88 got a reaction from bens197 in Evenflow anyone?
I just ordered an EvenFlow White T1100 for my Ping G400 driver. I went up to 75 grams instead of the stock 55 but stayed with the stiff flex. I am hoping that a better shaft and a more suited shaft for my swing and swing speed will prevent my fades from turning to a terrible slice.

Currently and have been loaded with the EvenFlow Hzrd Black on my M6 driver for the past two years and absolutely love it.. I haven't experienced that much of a variety in Driver shafts over my years as I was always comfortable with the stock ones that came with them, however the performance is and was noticeable the minute i got fitted and took it to the course.

Tour Velvet 360 for me. I prefer to use the club face to align my hands and I don't have to worry about logos or anything stupid when I tinker with adjustable clubs. Great mixture of feel, texture, and resistance to moisture. I've contemplated switching to the Tour Velvet Cord or Multi-compound, but I have yet to do it.

This is a reasonably new grip post, so I'll chime in again.  I had the original New Decade MC grips when they were pretty new, maybe 15 years or so back.  I liked them, they did really well during a rain-filled trip to Ireland.  But then I tried Iomic grips, and I've never thought about trying anything else.  I'm currently using the X-Evolution grip.  The material stays tacky-feeling for a long time, even when wear spots develop.  I've had them on for three years in some cases, playing close to 80 rounds a year.  I've got nothing bad to say about any other grips, but Iomic is going to be my choice for the foreseeable future.

I absolutely love the feel of slightly tacky leather slip on grips.  I believe there is no finer grip than the BestGrips Microperf club grip.  My preference is the Augusta limited edition Microperf.  Best part of this grip is that they last for a very long time.  I am into my 4th season with my grips on my irons and LW and they're still going strong.  These may last another 4 years easily (expect I might be changing clubs soon - new Hogan Icon irons).

The long irons can be difficult. I have a 4 iron but pulled it and just use my 5 iron with a 3 hybrid. Looking at the 5-AW of the 699 irons. When I need to update my hybrid I am sure I will get in touch with Jason. I do like the black finish on the 639 CB irons though. Very Nice!

Looking at pulling the trigger on the 699 irons. I did the demo with the 6 & 9 iron, gained close to 10 yards on each club with the stronger lofts. I had a standard set for shaft and loft so I missed right a few times given my swing but with the customization options that should get sorted out.
    Which set did you purchase?

I would give you an ace for that. Especially if some randoms saw and made that comment. Obviously wouldn't be able to count if the ball had hit the flagstick and bounced out but since the noodle was there and prevented the ball from staying in.
I had a similar issue on a Par putt. Playing with 3 buddies and of course had to have the pin in and the noodle in. Hit the ball with some pace and we all watched as the ball entered the cup, ran over the noodle and went out the other side. All 3 fellow golfers immediately said if the noodle wasn't in that ball was in, needless to say I counted it!

Hey everyone. Newbie to the forums but have used MGS website for over a year now. Started playing golf in my high school days but had to put on hiatus for life. Getting back into tho and back in love!
How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score?  Cumulatively around 4 or 5 years. My GHIN is 12.9.
What do you love about golf? The ups and downs of a round of golf. Love the challenge on each hole and how the thought process needs to change. But also the bomb drives and the birdie putts!
What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? Found MyGolfSpy through a Google search. Tired of just relying on Golf Digest. I do love to compare MyGolfSpy and Golf Digest reviews.
Where are you from? What is your home course? I am from Lilburn, GA. Currently living in Ringgold, GA. Nob North is my home course but play many courses in Chattanooga, TN.
What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Best thing is can almost play golf year around. Doesn't snow too much down here. Worst thing is alllllllll of the private courses. Just about 2 private courses per 1 public course.
What do you do for a living? I am an Assembly Supervisor at the Volkswagen Chattanooga Plant
How’d you pick your user name? First and last initial of my name, my last name and my birth year.

Awesome let me know how they hit!
Im looking into the MCC grips myself. All my grips are Golf Pride so I'm weary to venture outside of that comfort zone.

Go with The Grip Master Perf Wraps for that classic look! You won't be disappointed with how they feel and perform.

Have you tried practicing with just one hand? Tiger Woods technique of practicing with just putting with the right hand and then putting with the left hand. This has helped me get my arms to work together and smooth out my putting stroke. It also helps train yourself to get and keep the putter face squared.
I have issues with pushing my putts to the right so i practice more with my right arm and working on getting it square at impact.

I recently switched to the Snell MTB Black and X  to test out and have not been disappointed. Feels like it travels further than the Pro V1X or Chrome Softs I used to play with, but that could just be that I have hit the weight room recently.
I also like the way the Snell ball comes off my irons more so than any other ball I’ve used.

Go in with a friend and buy up to 5 dozen and I think it’s around $28 per dozen. I think it’s worth it.

They just opened after being shut down for close to a month which helped the course be in great shape. Played 27 holes over the past 3 days there. Course can be so fun but quickly punish you with bad shots

    Hello everyone;
I have been playing golf for 64 years. My grandfather taught me.   My normal score is between 80 and 85.  It is a sport that allows you to be outside, is challenging, you can play with friends or meet new people.  With handicaps you can play with other golfers of various skill levels and be competitive.  I enjoy seeing what is happening from different golf viewpoints and at some point become a tester.  Born and raised in Portsmouth VA.  I now live at The Villages in Florida.  We have 12 Championship courses and 44 executive courses.  We also have 2  9 hole putting courses and a chip and putt course.  What I like best about The Villages courses you can play all year.  I am retired but I did work for GE (Suffolk VA.),  Norfolk Naval Shipyard (Portsmouth VA.), Naval Sea Systems Command (Washington DC.)  and the USGA (Far Hills NJ).
