Jonnythec
I recently played a game of indoor (cause it's -35 out). I don't understand why I play so good indoors? I played against a buddy who has 10 handi while I'm a mid 20's and we went toe to toe all day. Ended up loosing in playoff. But o don't get why I play so good indoors. On the course this guy would destroy me all day but indoors I'm almost unstoppable. I don't get it, am I getting better?..ya a bit every time. But I'm playing almost 20 shots better indoors and I can't figure it out. Help me Sent from my iPhone while sitting at the 19th hole.

hckymeyer
Here's a few thoughts on the subject. You could have been having a good day and he could have been just a little off. It happens. What did you have putting set to? Most of the simulator's I've played on default to 6' or 8' gimmee's. Putting is notoriously difficult to get right on a simulator, so if he's a decent putter and getting handicapped by the simulator it's going to cost him strokes. Likewise if you only have to get it within 6 or 8' for the two putt that is much different than on the course. Next you are hitting from a perfect lie every time. You have a flat stance and off a mat it's almost impossible to hit the ball fat. So the majority of the time it will be a decent strike off a mat where outdoor it may have been a chunk or worse. Last depending on what type of simulator you were on it's hard to judge exactly how accurate it is. At the end of the day though it could be a little bit of all of those things. You also might be more comfortable indoors, lots of guys don't like hitting in a box and it can affect their swing. My only advice for next time is to make sure you get a couple strokes so you pull out the win and make him buy the beverages! furu
Can't compare it to real golf. I've had a -2 on Harbour Town indoors on a top simulator. With a 7i. Only a 7i. No putter, driver, wedge or any other club. Usually scored around par on any course with just one club. Some simulators are based on sensors. Some have high speed cameras. None are perfect. It's fun but it's not real golf and it's not real scores.
Jmikecpa
I play better most times indoors as well. The perfect lie on every shot is a huge advantage. It is better than ball in hand on a course outdoors. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy WITB 2024 Driver: Qi10 LS 9* Ltd. drewneddy
What simulator was it? TruGolf and S8 are some nice simulators. I don't think I'd be much a fan of the Opti Shot as it looks gimmicky Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
