Pink/Green ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A buddy of mine just gave me a set of Titleist 735 cm irons. I use to game a set and they are still my all time favorite irons. I am looking at refurbishing these (along with finding a 6 iron since its missing?) but they are a little more beat up then any other set I have worked on. I was wondering if I should give these an extra sand before a normal three step polish or if there is another process that would work well. Thanks in advance. I will try to keep updating this as my project progresses. prussell24
The next thing I did was to strip out the paint fill. I then gave them a quick once over with some 150 grit sandpaper by hand. The next step will be to polish. bens197 1 Quote 917 D2 9.5 - Project X Hzrdus Smoke Black 70g 6.5 M2 (2017) 3W 17.5 - G 4H 22 - 735cm 3 - PW - KBS Tour Black Nickel 115g ( R ) SM4 Tour Chrome 52˚- 8˚ | 56˚- 8˚ | 60˚- 7˚ - True Temper Dynamic Gold ( W ) California Coronado MTB-X

What did you polish them with, and are you going to restore stock paint fill or go with a personal design? I'm working on a set os MP-60s that were pretty rusted up. Soaked them in vinegar, stripped the paint fill, and scrubbed everywhere with a fine steel wool. Took rust right off, but I'd like to polish them, fill in some of the lighter scratches, and protect them. prussell24
I used a three different compounds with cotton buffing wheels. It similar to this set (Link). I haven't decided what I want to do next. I am going to do a custom paint job but haven't decided which. I also am thinking about pulling the shafts and replacing them with a lighter shaft. I have been thinking about going to lighter shafts in my irons and thought this might be a great way to try them out. I might post some color options here and see what you all think. I found a 6 iron on ebay to replace the missing club so I am waiting for that to arrive before moving forward. zrumble 1 Quote 917 D2 9.5 - Project X Hzrdus Smoke Black 70g 6.5 M2 (2017) 3W 17.5 - G 4H 22 - 735cm 3 - PW - KBS Tour Black Nickel 115g ( R ) SM4 Tour Chrome 52˚- 8˚ | 56˚- 8˚ | 60˚- 7˚ - True Temper Dynamic Gold ( W ) California Coronado MTB-X
prussell24
I received the new 6 iron unfortunately its the chrome addition not the stainless. It looks a bit different but I think I am just going to roll with it. I'll post a picture once it stops raining so you can see the difference. prussell24
Finally had some free time and was able to start re assembling these clubs. I ended up getting a set of uncut KBS tour black nickel R flex 110g shafts. Just need to put the grips on and then I will post pictures / review how they play. prussell24
I finally got the chance to finish this project. Went ahead and put on some gray iomic grips. Took them out today and played a round. They felt great. I really liked having the slightly lighter shafts. I had forgotten how much I love these irons. I really thought that I would be disappointed to be honest compared to more modern irons I have played since I owned these but they were awesome. I saw an average of 3 yards improvement and dispersion was very tight. Workability was very good. Only had one bad miss hit which I felt immediately but the shot did not go to far off line. Super happy with how these turned out and they are going to be my new irons for this summer.
