mikeanthony
We’re several weeks into the recent price drop on last year’s drivers across the board for most OEMs. And don’t want to rehash a thread that’s likely already long since been discussed when the TS2 was released. Had a full bag fitting done last year and ended up having my existing TM M1 irons re-shafted to my specs, along with purchasing new SM7 54° and 58° wedges. Also had the driver fitting done and the TS2 with the Tensei Blue stiff producing the best numbers. But I simply couldn’t drop $499 on the driver at the time. Well, a few weeks back with the seasonal price drop, I finally bought the TS2 ... and all I can say is, WOW. My previous driver was the Cobra F6 (green color), which I enjoyed and made it work, but my misses were all over the place and I made the mistake of buying it’s stock shaft at a regular flex. This was years ago and my swing was weaker ... Fast fwd several years, and per the fitting last year, my driver club head speed avg was 104mph and avg total distance was 283 yards with the TS2 on the B2 setting. I have a long, slow, low outside takeaway, smooth tempo ... with a slightly outside to across the ball downswing that usually gives me a nice slight baby fade or straight shot. But the difference in distance is substantial, I’m talking ‘the hill that I rarely cleared on a few holes’ to now clearing substantially. Additionally, I now feel like I can really get after the ball and not worry about it sweeping hard to the right like it would with my previous Cobra, which I knew was shaft related. Now my misses are dead straight on my initial target line to start my fade or it’s a hard straight shot further left of my target line ... but it’s nice knowing I can factor the right side of the fairway out of play. I was also slightly biased against the Titleist as a driver, for I was really hoping the Epic Sub Zero or the TMs would be the best, numbers wise ... but it wasn’t so in my case. My only regret is not having made the purchase sooner. So, absolutely consider getting fitted for a driver, for each of our swings are so unique ... and be open to a driver that the numbers/data show it best suits you. Do I recommend the TS2, absolutely! I think the Titleist R&D team is putting more focus into their TS line and I’m selfishly excited to see what their future drivers produce. But do get fitted for it and do try all the different drivers that are available to you at your local fitter. Jwhite86
I've played both the TS2 and the TS3... and ultimately settled on the 2. I had a hard time with the TS3, I'm not sure if it was too much club for me, but the TS2 is basically point and shoot and is long. The last Titleist driver I gamed was the 975J wayyy back in the early 2000s ... and then came the game changer with TM’s R7, it’s adjustable weights, and left Titleist in the dust. silver & black
I wish I would have chosen the TS2 over the 3. It hit both well on the launch monitor, but I'm struggling with it on the course. I still think it's me and not the club because I have had really good days with it.... just not very consistent from round to round. I chose the 3 because I couldn't get past the "weird" look of the 2... to me.

Here are some notes that come from the Titleist Tour department each week. These notes were in late Feb right after The Genesis. But the trend continued this past week at Colonial. I believe the only category they lost was in putters. Odyssey beat them by two putters. >While there were only four Titleist TS4 drivers in play at The Genesis Invitational, three of them [Scott, Max Homa/T5 and Russell Henley/T17] were in the bags of players battling for the championship on Sunday … The TS4 is an ultra-low spinning design and complement to the TS2 and TS3 [the most played model on the PGA TOUR] … The TS4 features a 430cc head volume, which is smaller than the size of the TS2/TS3, both 460cc … According to Wezenbeeck: “While most golfers find their best fit in a TS2 or TS3 driver, there is a small percentage of players out there with distinct performance needs, such as aggressive spin reduction. The TS4 is for those golfers who create too much spin because of the way they deliver the club head. We know through player testing that TS4 provides these players greater distance consistency versus what they were seeing in a higher-MOI product.” TRIPLE SWEEP: After sweeping every major equipment count at 13 PGA TOUR events in 2019, Titleist secured a third straight in 2020 at this week’s The Genesis Invitational … From golf balls, to drivers, fairways and hybrids, to utilities, iron sets, wedges and putters – Titleist has now been the top choice of more players across every category at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and The Genesis Invitational. silver & black
So.... anyone who is following this thread..................... I made an adjustment to my TS3 this morning. I went to B1 (3/4* upright) and took the adjustable weight to maximum draw. I immediately started to crush it with a very slight fade. I can play this. I hit 11 of 14 driver hole fairways. I seem to be getting my swing back a bit. The coming weeks will be interesting. I may need to get back closer to neutral setting as my swing improves. Losing weight is really good, but it doesn't come without consequences to your golf swing.... at least for me. I'll keep you updated.... if anyone cares...lol.
