President cup choices

Do you agree with Couples and Normans picks?

Woods and Haas for the U.S team, Robert Allenby and Aaron Baddeley for the Internationals, good choices?

No real problem with the international picks. No one else apart from maybe VJ jumps out at me.

Haas seems like a keep Finchem happy pic. Apart from the Tour Champs he has been pretty quiet. Tiger, well its not like he never not going to be there. Couples was screwed whether he picked him or not.

I have a revolving WITB policy.

Unfortunately, this year's Int. Team doesn't look as strong as before except for a couple of Australians. LEt's hope its a good competition though.

Tiger, well, I guess they are trying to bring his confidence back in an "easier" tournament, but still, I don't think it is fair with other golfers who are rising up and would benefit from the experience. No one denies Wood's career, but he is not meeting the standards right now...

I'm fine with the picks. To me, if you didn't earn a spot, then you didn't earn a spot and you have no room to b****. If we wanted to go with the best players (at least according to the points system), we would eliminate captain's picks.

Keegan is going as well (was measured for his Uni's). Stricker is supposedly not sure if he'll be able to play, and in that event, Keegan is taking his spot. That begs the question, if Strick is unable to play, who do you now pair with Tiger? DJ maybe? You'd only need 1 caddie.

In The Bag
Driver: TaylorMade M2 (2017) w/ Project X T1100 HZRDUS Handcrafted 65x
Strong 3 wood: Taylormade M1 15* w/ ProjectX T1100 HZRDUS handcrafted 75x
3 Hybrid: Adams PRO 18* w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"
4 Hybrid: Adams PRO 20* (bent to 21*) w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"
4-AW: TaylorMade P770 w/ Dynamic Gold Tour Issue Black Onyx S400

SW: 56* Scratch Tour Dept(CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold Spinner
LW: 60* Scratch Tour Department (CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold Spinner
XW: 64* Cally XForged Vintage w/ DG X100 8 iron tiger stepped
Putter: Nike Method Prototype 006 at 34"

Have a ton of back-ups in all categories, but there are always 14 clubs in the bag that differ depending on the course and set-up. Bomb and gouge. Yes, I'm a club gigolo.

From what people are saying to me on the course and in the gym, feedback is seemingly positive.

A few doubts about Haas actually though.

People happy to have Tiger on the team, but feel that maybe others earned the right instead.

As far as the International team, not very strong, and although these team events usually surprise, fingers crossed it will be fairly close and the Internationals put in a good performance.

A lot to has to do with certain players playing schedules... Even though they will be trying to get psyched for it, some have had long seasons and may affect their performance and determination to triumph.

Cheers,

Alex

I think the USA picks are half right, obviously Haas has earned his place but Woods!!

Stinks of TV and money to me. I won't be watching it.

K Bradley wins 2 tournaments including a major and is ignored. Theres a R Cup next year, surely Bradley is already a contender? Would P Cup experience not be a perfect intro?

Europe prepares for future R Cups with the Seve Trophy.

I'm perplexed but again I say, TV and money!

The odds were stacked against Bradley. The qualifying points are run over a 2 year period. So every other player had a 12 month start on him with him being a rookie this year.
