Pure blades are thinner. It is a very confusing to distinguish especially with the newer foam injected irons since they have that blade/muscle back look when looking at the back of the iron. jbern 1 Quote Driver: G400 Max 9* w/ KBS Tour Driven Fairway: XCG7 Beta 15* w/Fujikura Fuel Hybrids: 915H 21* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype 915H 24* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype Irons: TR20V 6-11 w/Vizard TR20-85 Graphite Wedge: 54/12D, 60/8M w/Accra iWedge 90 Graphite Putter: Sacks Parente MC 3 Stripe Backup Putters: Milled Collection RSX 2, mFGP2, Futura 5W, TM-180 Member: MGS Hitsquad since 2017

They do make you want to hit them; just so compact and sleek. The S were nice, but not enough of a blade for you. Of all the irons coming out this year, it would be between those and the Wilson staff blades for the set that most appeals to my eye. At a minimum, I want to hit them. I probably have just enough self-control not to buy them, but I do want to hit them Quote WITB: D: QI-10 core 9* Ventus Blue TR Velocore 6x 3w: Brnr mini driver 13.5 Kai Li White 70x 3h: G430 19° Tour 2/Stiff 7W: 21° Rogue ST Max LinQ 7X 5i-6i: ZX5 MKII Project X 6.0 7i-PW: ZX7 MKII Project X 6.0 50°, 54° & 58°: Glide Forged Pro P: Special Select Del Mar Ball: Tour BX mindset Bag: Ghost MGS Anyday 14 way "And so, we beat on, boats against the current, borne ceaselessly into the past." - Fitzgerald ” The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.” - Frost "That you are here—that life exists and identity, That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse." - Whitman

I am not a blade guy from a skill perspective, but their players cavity back is always a favorite during most wanted testing. pozzit
Just found this thread. Great read. I picked up a set of MP33's a few years back and well they are addicting that's for sure. I need to get them back out and play with them more. That are literally hanging on my wall starting at me everyday begging for some play. I feel like February is the wrong time but come spring I may switch to these for a month or 2. Do I have the game Nope but do I love that feel O YEA GolfSpy_BEN 1 Quote Driver: Ben Hogan GS53 4W: Maltby KE4 2i: Maltby KE4 FDI 4-PW: Maltby TS-1 - C-Taper 120g 50,54,58: Maltby TSW Putter: L.A.B. oscar Rossini
I have owned and played MP32s with Fujikura Speeder 757 S shafts for 20yrs, and bought and played other brands and models since, but I still score best with the MP32 blades... Occasionally hit a bad shot but the feel and feed back is just unbeatable IMO. I can't give them up ! pozzit and GolfSpy_BEN
GolfSpy_APH
I would agree there is something about playing MB that is just satisfying. No they are not all that easy to hit however hard to argue a much better feeling in golf than a well struck blade. Jbugai
When I first started golfing, my first set was blades. That’s all I know is playing blades. Rugbymick
Still take out my MP-68's every few rounds. Like everyone says. There is nothing like a well struck blade. Jim Shaw
I would like to weigh in on MB irons. I havent played MB since I had a set of Mizuno's which I bought in 2003 and played until about 2013, loved those irons, still have them actually lol. I then got a set of Miura's that had some "junk in the trunk" although not MB they were forged and I played them until 2023. In 2023 I was graciously selected to test Takomo 301 MB's by MGS. To be honest I thought, "at 64 years of age and looking at the next 5 years I probably need some forgiveness irons like TM 770's or TM 790's something like that. " I tested my Takomo's up against all the latest greatest forged irons in a controlled environment by a fitter that has fitted Justin Rose, Bernard Longer to name a few and the Takomo's performed as well if not better. Don't ask me how or why but these 301 MB's do have some forgiveness, sure I don't get the required distance when I miss the sweet spot but they go straight and do not get me into really bad trouble. And I know cavity back and foam filled iron heads have mishits too.. I have been gaming these MB's since middle of september and while they are hotter off the face than the Miura's I had they are easily as forgiving which is a real bonus and not expected. And when I hit the centre of the club, well it brings a smile to my face... anyway great topic and thanks for the opportunity to talk about MB...
