The plan is pretty broad as the intent is to just get me committed to doing the things on the list and not worry too much about finer details like amount of time or amount of weight. For example I plan to do at least one session from the BetterMe app that can vary from 7-10 minutes. I plan to get on the eliptical for at least 15 minutes but will go longer if the mood suits me. Once I get into a better routine of working out I will add more details. For now, my overweight and beat up body just needs to get used to some vigorous exercise again and then we can go from there. jbern
I haven’t been good about posting my fitness activities, but I do have one highlight from last week. I completed a new years training program on the tonal. The first workout and last workout were exactly the same and I lifted 1000 more pounds in the last workout than the first. So that means progress is being made and I’m getting stronger. I started a new strength program called “Everyday Fit” that is more intense and is 4 days per week instead of 3. We’ll see how it goes! ejgaudette
Wanted to give a bit of an update. I have been tracking and working to get more movement into the days and getting back on track for eating. I am right around 60% for my push up/abs/mobility/and pull up routine. The goal is 75% but working to get that back into that realm by the end of the month, weekdays are easy just need to get a weekend day too. Getting more cardio in this week and hope to keep it rolling. Yesterday was cross country skiing while pulling our youngest, went for a run this morning, skating with the kids Wednesday, back to skiing Thursday, running Friday. Should be a nice way to keep it fresh and interesting. As for eating just cleaning everything up. I have a set up that usually works for me, I have been whole food plan based for about 2 years so really just making sure to cut anything that is too processed. Right now chips are about the most processed thing we eat. Also just watching to make sure I hit the various groups of foods to get the most out of it. Starting to feel healthier which is the end goal really. Time to keep it rolling. taylorjonasher, BallsLeon, cksurfdude and 2 others 4 1 Quote Epic Max LS 9° Ventus Blue 6X (2021 Official Review) | Epic Speed 18° Evenflow Riptide 70g 6.0 816 H1 21° Diamana S+ Blue 70 S | SMS 4-5/SMS Pro 6-PW Steelfiber i95 S (2023 Official Review) Glide 4.0 50°.12°S/54°.14°W/58°.6°T PING Z-Z115 Wedge Flex | SOFT 11S Super Stroke Mid-Slim 2.0 Hoofer Bag | Pro V1 | Right Handed | Tracked by V3

My weight has been fairly stable (i.e. within a narrow range) for years so don't need a new scale per se, but .. as I age I'm interested in maintaining what muscle mass I have .. so if this one gives consistent (if not completely accurate) measurements for that it'd be helpful to track over time. Thx! On Waze scale: Interesting output on muscle mass - wonder how accurate it is. I'm at a point now of trying to figure out what affect my workouts have been on increasing muscle mass. However, I can attest to the fact that it has increased my on-course performance as I track distances for each club via Shotscope. The improved performance via workouts have had a better effect on my distances then using a speed training device like SuperSpeed. FYI - one sobering statistic I read recently is that one loses 1% of muscle mass each year over 40, not sure how accurate that is. ejgaudette and cksurfdude 2 Quote Left Hand orientation SIM 2 D Max with Fujikura Air Speeder Shaft Cobra Radspeed 3W/RIptide Shaft 410 Hybrids 22*, 26* Cobra Speed Zone 6-GP/Recoil ESX 460 F3 Shafts SM7 54* Wedge Glide 3.0 60* Wedge O Works putter V3 NX9-HD - 4 Wheel EZGO TXT 48v cart - too many shoes to list and so many to buy And BAG Boy Golf Balls: Vice Pro Plus 2020 Official Tester Beginning Driver Speed - 78 2019 Official Tester 410 Driver 2018 Official Tester C300

taylorjonasher
First day at 315 for deadlifts. Back in the day my max was 375 or 385, so I'm getting close to maybe being able to pick that much up again. I completed 3 of 4 sets; decided that the jump from last week was not worth attempting the last set as I was losing my form. I will keep the same set plan for next week; with either 4 or 5 sets of 4. I had to jet out early to go get my guys started for the day. I finished my curls (second link) on my return to go shower up. Coincidently there was a article in my Apple News Fitness section yesterday ; University of New Mexico health expert Dr. Abinash Achrekar spoke on the aging process. He said age-related muscle loss starts much earlier than people may think. "The process, called sarcopenia, or age-related muscle loss, can begin as early as age 35," Achrekar said. "People can lose 1-2% of their muscle mass, with it turning into fat instead." As aging continues, this muscle-loss percentage increases, especially for those who do not do strength-based training. "After age 60, that can jump to 3% a year," Achrekar said. "That doesn't sound like much, but average adults who don't do regular strength training can lose 4 to 6 pounds of muscle per decade." ejgaudette, cksurfdude and taylorjonasher 3 Quote Left Hand orientation SIM 2 D Max with Fujikura Air Speeder Shaft Cobra Radspeed 3W/RIptide Shaft 410 Hybrids 22*, 26* Cobra Speed Zone 6-GP/Recoil ESX 460 F3 Shafts SM7 54* Wedge Glide 3.0 60* Wedge O Works putter V3 NX9-HD - 4 Wheel EZGO TXT 48v cart - too many shoes to list and so many to buy And BAG Boy Golf Balls: Vice Pro Plus 2020 Official Tester Beginning Driver Speed - 78 2019 Official Tester 410 Driver 2018 Official Tester C300

tony@CIC
Is anyone doing asymmetrical strength training? One thing my fitness instructor (my daughter) identified is that I'm stronger on my left side (coincidently I'm a lefty) then my right side. Last night as I was trying to get to sleep, I wondered what effect that has on my golf swing, since my weaker side is the lead or 'pulling' side and the trail is the 'pushing' side. Doing a bit of research this morning I found out that the 'pull' side has a bigger effect on the directionality and speed than the 'push' side. According to one research article - focus on the lead arm will result in straighter drives. While that is not the result I'm looking to achieve, I'm now thinking that focusing a bit more on right side strength training might yield some improved swing speed results. Your thoughts? Unless I have the day off, it’s always 0430 for me. Whether or not it impacts my lifts would be interesting but not terribly useful info to me…it’s when I workout regardless. taylorjonasher, ejgaudette and cksurfdude 3 Quote Driver: TSR2, Ventus Blue 6 S, 65g Stiff FW: TSR2 3w, 15, Ventus Blue 7 S, 70g Stiff Hybrids: Apex Pro 3H, Ventus Blue 8 S, 80g Stiff Stealth DHY 4H, Ventus Blue 8 S, 80g Stiff Irons: SMS 5-6, SMS Pro 7-PW, Aerotech Steelfiber i95 Stiff Wedges: SM9 48 F Grind, 52 F Grind, 56 M Grind, Aerotech Steelfiber i95 Stiff Putter: Sri-Hot 5K Triple Wide, Stroke Lab shaft Ball: Pro V1 Click here for my HONMA TR20 Official Review! It's almost always 0530-0545, but depending on work schedule it will sometimes be 0800, 1200, or 1400. I have the same issues throughout the day, so I guess I'll chalk it up to general fatigue. I just hate having a sh**ty session when the one before was awesome.
