Did a 30 minute "sport training" program on my elliptical as part of my exercise yesterday .. it's basic interval training and I managed to keep a fairly steady pace going of about 60 rpms.

Last year I wouldn't have been able to do that!

So thx all in here for helping me get motivated and staying on track to a better '24 👍👏

Congrats on the progress! That is awesome and impressive! We used to have an elliptical and 30 minutes of ANY exercise on that thing wasn't easy.

Passed my PT test for work today but the run was a struggle. Apparently just walking 18 isn’t gonna cut it on the cardio front 😂

WOW, Thats a setup thanks for sharing. Wish something this would have been around when my kids were littles.

My kids are for the most part out of the house. I now have my son’s old room as my "cave". Won't call it man as my wife still gives me input as to what should go in here. :).

Not sure how I missed this reply, but is that room where you keep your workout gear?
I have nothing that resembles a man cave at all! Anything I’d want to display is stored in our crawl space or in the utility room with my tools. Maybe someday…

Last weeks plan was 4 workouts + 1 yoga session + follow the meal plan. I did NOT do the yoga, which was a bummer. I followed the meal plan pretty well and only had one evening where I had a couple handfuls of m&m's that weren't part of the plan. I did the 4 workouts last week which consisted of two random workouts and then started the first two workouts on a Tonal new program called "Add on and Burn Out." The first two workouts were a lot of fun because they're so unique. It consists of 6 sets, where you start with 1 exercise and add an exercise each set. The last block is a burnout block of high intensity exercises that really gets the heart rate up.

We did go on a 4.6 mile family bike ride since the weather was so nice over the weekend! The kids were super excited to get their new bikes out on a path and are eager to go back to another one!

This weeks goal is another 4 tonal strength workouts and 1 yoga session and follow this weeks meal plan.

So far so good on the workouts and meal plan.

My plan took a major detour the last week or so as my knee with a torn meniscus is flaring up with all my added activity so I’m sidelined until I can get another cortisone shot. Gonna have to get it repaired once and for all this fall. For now I’m focusing on upper body work and diet. I’m up 3-4 pounds so working on a plan to get that under control with my knee not cooperating.

How many cortisone shots have you had in it? I've heard guys that have some pretty bad joint capsule damage from the cortisone after the 2nd - I have osteolysis in both of my shoulders and have been fighting the ortho guys against cortisone.

Yeah have heard the same thing, re: repeated cortisone shots.... @Preeway obviously you need to keep functioning and pain relief is a good thing, but maybe more RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevation) and I've become a fan of the drugstore generic for Voltaren. Some people have had some success with CBD cream or oil or rub-on  sticks, too.

I've had two. Going to ask about that same thing when I go in for the next one. I know I will need another before the end of the summer with all the caddy work I do.

I've been trying my CBD cream to no avail. I have a scrip for a pain reliever that does work but none of this is a long term solution. For now, it's just focus on basics like push ups, sit ups and dumbbell work along with resuming my speed training.

I tore my meniscus in June 2017.  It was a ****** to walk. My work then I was putting in 25,000 steps a day. I had surgery on Friday August 3rd and was back to work Monday. It was a slower pace but I got through it with no pain, just fatigue in the knee. As soon as I woke up after the surgery I could tell it was better.

if possible I’d suggest getting it sooner rather than later. No sense in going through our short lives in pain.

I found this cream called “VooDoo pain Relief”. I like it, it works for me, I need to order more as my back is always sore. (MRI coming soon).

I’m about to go workout and I DO NOT want to have anything to do with exercise right now. I’m trying to stick to the plan. Hopefully I get over it and it goes well for me!

Been a super busy week for me at work and trying to get ready for vacation. I've made it to the gym twice, but have had good weigh-ins this week for not really tracking like I had been. No real stats available for intake/burn at the moment, but I've been generally close to my goals based on what I know I consumed. Yesterday was the last part of a hybrid shoulder/biceps, and today was almost an entire leg day. Felt good to be back at it after a few days where I couldn't get in.

6(45) workout.  I’m not doing this workout.  From now on I will do the 6(45) dynamic stretch routine from the beginning on the workouts.  I’ll have to look today and find something else on the BODI App or I’ll just do the dynamic warmup/stretch from 6(45) and go back to LiiFT4.  Run 5k, walk 1 mile, golf specific.

Been keeping up the running and the eating has gotten back in line in the past bit so now down about 5 pounds. Just needed to clean things up on the snacking that was going on. Time to keep the momentum going here as the weather gets warmer and I continue to get out there to run and hopefully in the near future golf.

I just spent an hour going through all the workouts and seeing which blocks meet my needs.  I’m going to start LiiFT4More (yes more). It’s LiiFT4#2.  I have to incorporate more golf stretching techniques into my routine everyday, which I will steal from 6(45).  The weather is finally safe enough to set up my hitting net in the garage again.  Setting that up this weekend as well.

Been off my workout plan for the last week - had to get our guest bathroom demoed and ready for the tile guy. Then the visit to the dermatologist for a scheduled removal of a melanoma on my chest. No strength training or golf for a couple of more days - don't want to take the chance of ripping the stitches.  I expect to be back on track for both on Monday.

What is 6(45)? I have been interested in some golf stretching that I can do in the office.

I demoed a bathroom last year and I remember that being a workout plan on its own! 😆

Sorry to hear about the melanoma spot on your chest. That is never fun and could prevent you from strength training for some time, since it's on your chest. I hope everything goes smoothly for you!

It’s just a “block “ of workouts for full body.  It’s good, but not intense enough.  I can’t take a lot of explanation about moves and chit chat during the workout.  I have a busy schedule.  But the beginning dynamic stretches he works on are great and all of them are golf specific.

I can’t just do things on my own.  I won’t workout if I don’t follow a class/plan.  If I don’t follow a program I’ll just jump on the treadmill and run five miles.  I’m trying to build up some muscle gain, and get stronger.  Dumbbells are starting to get expensive the stronger I get…

I know the feeling. If it wasn't for Tonal scheduling my program workout days, I DEFINITELY would not have worked out yesterday!

Even though you're spending more on Dumbbells, it's gotta be a good feeling for that kind of upgrade!
