Course greens are most important for business

What are your thoughts?

I live in Orlando and play many different courses. I play a couple times a week but by far my favorite course is the course closest to my home and is usually in really good shape. It’s very consistent regarding the conditions and I know they put a lot of time and money into maintaining their great conditions for the golfers. They have (2) 18 hole championship courses. Unfortunately, one of the courses has recently began experiencing contamination on the greens in at least half of the greens. I’ve already noticed, as well as the course employees have mentioned to me that many of the players calling to book a tee time are avoiding booking a tee time at the course with the green contamination, which is making the other 18 hole course a heck of a lot busier and harder to get on . It’s unfortunate, but these are the pains of owning and running a golf course. The right way to fix this contamination issue is to replace the greens which is an expensive renovation. Before I book a tee time, I will typically look at recent reviews for what golfers are saying about the greens on that course. If the reviews are no good, I will not play the course because it is not worth putting through contaminated grass or bare spots, etc..

Do you rate courses first by the condition of the greens or something else?

You sure you’re in Orlando and not Australia?
Those greens are the wrong way up

Based on your photos, I would say those greens are bordering on unplayable.   If I had a choice I would pick the other course as well and I have avoided courses in my area due to the condition of the greens.

This is very similar to what I played on yesterday!  Add in some large sand patched aeeas and it would be a replica of them!

Greens are the most important part of the course IMO. Thats where you will be making the scores from!

I would consider playing that course at a 50% or better off rate possibly  just to get the playing in!

Just an old newbie golfer, trying to learn and improve 1 club at a time.
