Dan Underwood Posted May 24 Share Posted May 24 My kids were sitting next to me as I was deciding on what putter to test as I was choosing what one the two oldest were fighting over who gets it after the test is over if I don't end up keeping it it the bag. I gamed the same clubs from highschool to 2020 but putters don't last long. May have a reputation for putters having a short life span. But I have always grabbed one off the shelf. It was a new experience for me to build what I wanted. TCUfrog Posted May 27 Share Posted May 27 Just got back from a weekend at Old Barnwell in Aiken, SC. If you haven’t heard of it, look it up. It’s a new club that’s designed by a few Doak disciples. Beautiful design with challenging greens. Played 3 rounds with the Bettinardi. Putted well but not great. Had 1, 3 putt each round and a lot of 2 putts but I think that is more reflective of tough green complexes and tougher pins. I believe I will play my first round at my home course, The Birch Hills Golf Club. Nine hole round, and really focus on rolling the ball on my target line. I use a line on my ball so pretty easy to tell if I succeed or not. Will probably do the unboxing at home, possibly a youtube video to go with it. Really looking forward to this part. I'm really looking forward to seeing putts drop from the 10-12' range. I played 9 holes for men's night, and the game was least amount of putts. So my goal was miss the green by a few yards lol, chip it close and 1 putt. Worked like a charm on a few holes but ultimately ended with 14 putts with the ER2. Just for a little picture into my putting ability. I rarely miss the 6' variety, but definitely need to drain more from that 10' range. Cannot wait for the T-Squared Putter to arrive!! But first round will be at my home course, then I'll play some at the country clubs maybe get to play 1 or 2 rounds around the north east of Wyo but other than that they will mostly be on the same home course I have had since I was a small jr. Mine is also due Friday, generally they are timely on delivery just not always to the right location where I live.
