Bruce Sizemore’s new putters (More Golf)

My new More Golf Render putter is the best feeling face milling pattern I’ve tried, plus the fastest, purest roll I’ve ever put on a ball!  I’m loving this newest putter line by Bruce Sizemore, the technology behind it, plus the interchangeable necks.

Like many MGS readers, I’m a bit of a putter collector and have used most every putter brand over the years.  I can often go through 10 or more putters in a year!  This year I realized that no matter which putters I’ve owned and rotate through each year, my Sizemore Collection copper insert KB-01 putter is always one of them.  I believe Bruce Sizemore made these in 2007-8 with a very unique IND-X face milling pattern.  It’s been the most solid, consistent feeling putter I’ve owned over the years.  That is until recently!

After some research this spring, I found out Bruce Sizemore has a new company, More Golf.  His newest venture with modular designs for putters, irons and wedges is quite innovative,  technically advanced, plus locally made in the USA.  I opted for the blade looking Render model and two necks, a mid-curved about 1/2 shaft offset and a mid-straight no offset.

Sizemore uses 120 gram Oban steel putter shafts which I tried in the mid-straight neck.  While I do prefer about 1/2 shaft offset, this mid-straight neck really sets up nicely and square.  Plus the Render design has subtle alignment aids which assist at setup.  The Oban shaft combined in the billet milled 303 SS head has a very solid, very balanced feel.

I then installed an Accra P100 graphite shaft in the mid-curve neck and quickly changed necks.  I’m loving this modular, interchangeable hosel feature.  Again, very balanced, solid feel with just a little more shaft flex since P100 is Accra’s softer putter shaft.  This peak roll face milling feels unlike any I’ve tried before.  From the first putt with the Render putter indoors, the ball seemed to roll end-over-end faster than any of my other putters have.  The overall feel is both very solid, slightly higher pitch than my Sizemore Collection copper insert putter….and very, very well balanced.  The head weight is 348 grams, so I added lead tape to the bottom to get to the 360 gram weight I prefer.

My initial rounds were on fast greens rolling 12-13 and I’m really impressed with the feel at impact and a consistent, faster end-over-end roll pattern with less skid.  This peak roll milling pattern felt almost sticky on the face in a positive way as though the ball just stayed on the face an extra millisecond.  It felt very controlled with consistent, accurate speed control.  Even with an occasional slight mishit, the ball was coming off consistently and still finding the hole.  Both my speed control on long putts and accuracy on short putts is as good as I’ve had in a very long time.

I also tested the Render putter on slower, grainy Bermuda greens recently.  While having to stroke with more pace, both the speed control and roll continued to be impressive.  Bruce Sizemore really has a winner in this putter model.  With the peak roll face milling, my other putters may not see any rotation time again!

I like you had a Sizemore putter years ago and recently picked up on of his more golf putters.   Getting it reshafted with a graphite shaft as well.

i like the putter; it seems to me that it has a different sound and feel than most other putters and I am looking forward to putting it in the bag.

Great-looking putters. Are they available in-store anywhere? Curious about the feel and roll - given what you both said.

I was just coming back to post that, too.  Wow.  Okay. So...the blades are definitely more attractive than the mallets, lol.  WOW.  (And yes, I know the irony of my playing a spaceship (and now a slightly smaller spaceship)...but ... yeah. Wow. Lol.)

Which graphite shaft are you trying?

I think you should go with the irons and wedges; should go nicely with the lab putter.  😁

Waiting to get it installed before I do a reveal/review.   I wanted to try a graphite shaft in a putter and the More Golf putter was purchased specifically to install a shaft.  I have tried many of the options available but never got objective data so I want to club champion to get some Puttlab data.
