I actually saw the most improvement in my driver with it really starting to pick up about 3 weeks into the testing.  It feels weird to start but once you get used to the new grip things pick up quickly, at least they did for me.  My driver has improved enough that I am actually thinking about changing the settings on my Callaway adjustable back into a Neutral from the draw bias as I have started to come out left more which never happened to me in the past.

I’d echo Patrick’s comments in that it takes a little while to get used to the different grip but stick with it and you should see an improvement

I wasn't selected for the test, I just happened to purchase one of these on my own after browsing Amazon right before the test was announced.  I thought I'd give my thoughts for the crowd as well.

Initial Impressions:

I was only intending this for my own use so I didn't take unboxing photos or anything, but it comes in a standard glove sleeve with the requisite quality you'd expect from a product like this.  Also included in the sleeve is a card with a QR code on it.  I ignored that card, thinking, it's a glove why do I need instructions?  Turns out it's kind of important which I'll get to a little later.

Form, Fit, Function:

I watched the video on the Amazon listing so I had an idea of what to expect.  A glove with blue visual cues showing you how to properly set your grip.  Seeing as how this was something I needed to work on, I bit the bullet on the $30.  I also noted the sizing guide which led me to order a smaller size than I was expecting, but the advice was spot on and it actually fits better than my normal glove.  The glove was soft and the blue grip indicator in the fingers is a super grippy rubber which helps hold onto the club.

I've read other reviews that say the glove comes apart and the rubber peels off, but I'm not concerned about that as I don't expect to use it frequently enough for that to matter as I'll explain at the end.  FFF Score 9.0/10

First Use:

Ok, here's where we get silly.  Like I said earlier, QR code, who needs instructions for a glove, blah.  I took my new glove, with all the confidence in the world to the range with a general idea of how to work it.  After 10 minutes of trying to line the indicator on the thumb up with my shoulder I screeched with frustration! How do I make this point at my shoulder? It's impossible, my hand doesn't bend like that!  Frustrated I pulled my phone out and headed to the website to look for a video.  NOTHING, ugh.  I quit. I tossed it aside and put on normal glove.

The next day, I came to this very thread and posted like wtf! I can't work this stupid thing? And somebody replied like did you watch the videos? And I was like I looked all over the website there were no videos.  And they wrote back, like you have to scan the QR code from the package.... oh.  Then I was like, that's ridiculous, why can't they just put the videos on the website or Youtube, anybody should be able to see it.  I think it was at this point I realized it was a representative of the company here to answer questions.  Hope I wasn't too rude🫢.

Newly humbled, I pulled out my phone to scan the QR code on the card that luckily I didn't throw away.  I still stand by my original feedback that it is silly to have to sign up for an account to watch the videos, and that the only way to get to the right website is on a little card that you could easily throw in the trash.

Just put a link on the website. Don't lose this -->PXL_20240902_011105059.jpg.90c344b6aa4fec23aee91ed7421fd5ae.jpg

Initial Experience 5.5/10 (partly my fault 😜)

Instructional Videos:

Ok, course corrected and re-calibrated I sign up for my account which is where the rub comes in.  The reason that they do it this way is to try and up-sell you a paid instructional program at like $999/year.  No thanks, but respect the hustle.  You do not have to pay anything else to watch the instructional videos for the glove, phew.

There are 3 videos, unlike this review they are short and to the point, like less than 3 minutes each. Muah, chef's kiss.  Excellent.  In fact the third video is on grip pressure and it basically just says try different grip pressures to see what works.  There, saved you all 3 minutes that you can spend reading more of my diatribe.  The first video explains the indicators and how to set the club in your hand.  The second video talks about the difference between a weak and strong grip and how that affects ball flight.  So that's all it takes, like 5.5 minutes and you know exactly how to use the glove and I immediately see what I was doing wrong my first try.

Videos: Short, clear, to the point 10/10

Second Range Session:

Armed with my new knowledge I returned to the range.  Aha! Man this is so simple.

                                 Step 1:   PXL_20240828_191651103.jpg.e7ce9190bbf114380d885de7937d294b.jpg

Grip in the blue strip, check! I figured that one out on my own.

                                   Step 2: PXL_20240828_191736451.jpg.f23751bfbb1c018d174ec2050e6842dd.jpg

Turn your grip hand to see two knuckles, nicely framed in blue.  Man, my normal grip is so weak.  That's why I wanted this glove to begin with.  Great so far!

                                    Step 3: PXL_20240828_191913176.PORTRAIT.jpg.fc4421c7cb088fbda7fb961dab4c570a.jpg

Cover this third patch on the thumb with your other hand so the V in your second hand points at your shoulder.  This is the part I couldn't quite do as my hands are too small to comfortably overlap my hands that high around my grip hand.  So I just hold it normally and use the third indicator to line up by sight.  Sorry I couldn't grip and hold the camera, but use your imagination.

Simple.  And immediately it's clear to me that my grip is too weak and I hold the club too much in my palm.  I used it on two range sessions and have enough for the feel the proper grip that I can adjust on the course.  Sure enough using the grip as the glove shows I was hitting much straighter, like immediately.  Not even kidding it was crazy.

Ease of Use 9.5/10

Hidden Use:

Something that stuck with me from the second video was how the grip could affect ball flight.  Strong grip -> draw, weak grip -> fade.  I know this training aid is teaching a neutral grip, but could I use it to modify my grip to change my ball flight without trying to modify the rest of my swing.

PXL_20240828_191707233.jpg.c8c08a7dc07360cb6e97d0ad3ddf2d46.jpg<--Weaker      Stronger-->  PXL_20240828_191907534.PORTRAIT.jpg.0e3bf17680a823833bed0606472e0767.jpg

Now that I was an expert at neutral grip I gave it a shot. And wouldn't you know it worked!  I mean I know it should work, but I was still amazed it did.  Maybe a second generation can add this feature into the design.  Hidden Feature 10/10.

Durability Concerns:

I know others have criticized the durability. I am not concerned. It is a glove like any other, I'd expect it to wear like one.  The reason I am not concerned is, I'm not using like a regular glove on the course.  It's a training aid and I will treat it as such.  Like I said, a few shots is all it takes to figure out your grip and you can go back to a normal glove and follow the same steps just without the blue indicators.  I only imagine taking this out every once and awhile when my grip seems off.  Using it that way, I'd expect it to last quite awhile.  Durability: Not concerned 8/10

Conclusion:

This product is a winner.  Simple to use (once you watch the videos), good quality build, teaches fundamentals, and not necessary to use all the time to be effective.   That being said it probably won't last as regular glove so don't use it as one, especially not at $30 a pop.  It's better than a molded grip because you can use it on your regular clubs and the visual indicators point out the exact keys your are trying to ingrain into your mind. It is silly that you need to create an account just to see the videos and that you can't just get to them directly from the main website, but overall the whole package is an excellent value IMO.

Overall Score: 9.5/10

Highly recommended for anyone struggling with grip consistency and needs a visual reminder!

@sman3115 how long would you say it took you to be comfortable with the new grip?

On the durability side, I have actually continued to wear mine even after the test as a regular glove as I want to see how long it takes to destroy (I normally a 2/3 times a month play a round usually between 18 to 27 holes a month) and an additional 4 to 6 hours hitting balls at a range/simulator/ or in the net in the back yard and so far seeing similar wear to my Mizuno and FootJoy gloves honestly after two months the grip areas on the glove still holding up so I have been impressed by the durability.

Just a few swings really, once I gave up trying to use the third indicator on the thumb.  My grip wasn't too far off though.  Just a little too weak and in the palm so I didn't have much to do. I could see someone with a crazy strong baseball bat grip having a tough time adjusting though.

I am also originally from the Springfield area so cheers! Nice to see another western MA-hole on here.

Did you not find that if you got the palm and knuckles right then the arrow pointed towards the shoulder anyway?

Not without an exaggerated wrist bend that totally threw the club face off.  Maybe it was, but from my perspective it looked to be pointed in the wrong spot.  And it felt off trying to make it work.

As a follow up after the review, I played 18 at a local course this morning.  I did not play where I am a member, but another course I play frequently.  I played the front 9 with my go to glove, and the back 9 with the Me and My Golf Glove.  The front 9 went as I had anticipated; how I normally play.  On the back 9, with the test glove, I 'tinkered' with my grip, trying really hard to move my left hand more to the right.  My drives, and my irons, were straighter, as they have been with this club.  The distances I was achieving was closer to what I normally hit.  Where, before today my distances had been ten to twenty percent less than I usually play, today that delta lessened.  I think what is helping is a new series of videos I started watching from the manufacturer.  They sent me an email offering a free video series for hitting better drives with their product.  So far, the results are encouraging.

I received an email from the manufacture offering 5 free videos, so I signed up for them.  I am certain I will be receiving a significant amount of emails in future attempting to get me to purchase more.

I have only looked at the free ones they have sent and the ones that came with the glove I do like their videos they keep them short but informative and I find them easy to follow I have been thinking about some of there other training aids for winter as the glove has worked well for me and you get some access to there site with purchase and certain bundles at least form what I can tell.

Did you not find that if you got the palm and knuckles right then the arrow pointed towards the shoulder anyway?

I took the glove out for another range session the other day just to double check what I was saying about the thumb indicator and I think I am right.  I took some pictures to illustrate what I am seeing when I look down, even my solo photography skills and quick paint editing may look exaggerated.

Inkedpic1_LI.jpg.9c425cdab4266481d7153358a91f7203.jpg taring down the thumb arrow looks to be pointing to my zipper or right ear if you're being generous due to trying to hold the camera and snap

Inkedpic2_LI.jpg.d0952f98c0bf7ba92de9a366b25715f8.jpg To get the arrow pointed at my right shoulder I have to severely bend my wrist and point the clubface way left

Inkedpic3_LI.jpg.030ca00771da32b3071fec2e222f0f1b.jpg This is what you actually want to see.  The pad of the right thumb covers the arrow, notice the rounded side and the shape of your thumb.  It's the triangle with your right thumb and index finger which then points at your right shoulder.

Again I am just really impressed with the simplicity of this as a practice tool, but it only is going to help you if you are halfway decent and your swing path matches your face path for the most part.  Forcing a neutral grip won't fix your other swing flaws, but having some insight into the relationship to grip and face direction has been very helpful to me.

And I know MGS has kind of been really rubbing into Snell's face with the QC issues with their new manufacturing partner, but this video they sent out on Sunday really offers some good advice if you are looking to work on your grip.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just wanted to share a little post test update and what I think is another advantage of this glove in specific circumstance.

I was playing an early morning round yesterday as I had taken the day off work for some doctors appoints and as such as typical on the courses in New England this time of year it was a bit wet.  Now I used to use a Callaway wet weather glove on days like this before I had this glove for a little extra traction but unfortunately did not have one in decent shape on me this morning as I had recently cleaned out my bag so I decided to just use a regular glove to start the round to see if the new grip from the use of this product had settled in without the reminders the glove provides.

I was pleasantly surprised that the grip has seemed to settle in and be my "comfortable: grip and my routine of placing the club in the finger where the blue stripe would be and positioning so my knuckles wee visible all stayed with me.  What was less then pleasant was that after about 4 holes my glove was soaked and getting slick so I decided to change back to the me and my golf glove.  Honestly I liked it better in these damp conditions then some of the other wet weather gloves I have used.  With het extra grippy areas on the glove I had a very secure grip without having to use to much pressure and still had the confidence to swing the club full bore.  Additionally I feel like I got the additional group benefits without the extra bulk that some of the wet weather gloves have.  I don't know that this would hold up in a full rainstorm but for a general morning dew situation I think there are additional advantages to this glove as well as its training use.

That’s good to hear. I haven’t had chance to try mine in the wet but will when the opportunity arises
