Avg swing speed was 114 mph with 282 yd carry and 300 total. Never been quite there before. Ball speed average was 166 mph. The last strike was truly a walk off for me at 115 mph because it didn’t feel like much effort and got out there at 317 yds total which is like….whoa. Sorry, not trying to brag as it is just uncharted territory for me. The balls I missed right still had slight left curvature. Pretty much everything was a draw.

Remind us what setup and SS range you're in. It might just be a matter of tweaking a thing or 2.. or 3😜. A lot of us had to bounce ideas off of each other in order to get dialed in as this is kind of uncharted territory. As long as you're willing to keep trying, you've got a support group here as strong as any, willing to help out.

So I’ve slightly given up on this. I’m not getting rid of the shaft just yet though. While I do get my best numbers with it. I’m not consistent enough with my swing to avoid that towering 5k rpm shot. With my other shaft I never get it. It sits around 2,700 - 3,000 and a 260ish carry. Yes the Otto can give me that 2200 and 270 carry but I get those errant shots that’s really discouraging.

Well, today was another win for me in the Otto-Phlex war. I touched 170 mph ball speed 3 times today which I have never done before and got several CARRIES over 300 yds. Average swing speed was 112-115 mph and I am awaiting my trackman report which I will use to update this or a subsequent  post with. The magic setup today was -1* (10.5 --> 9.5) with the 6g weight rather than 12g weight. Launch was down and spin was down. Just a joy to swing really.

So played 9 holes today with my Titleist TS3 8.5* driver with the head loft set at minus .75 C1 on the adapter, still not tuned it on my Rapsodo launch monitor to find the best ball position and ball height to get the best outcome which is a Draw. My best drive was dead straight down the middle 230 metres. WOW guess who's a happy camper and I passed my friends ball by 12 metres so a double helping of joy as my friends not happy as it's the first time yabba dabba doo..
I only reminded him a couple of times hahaha..

A diamond grit hacksaw blade works fine.  My recommendation is to wrap some tape around the area where you intend to cut, cut slowly and let the grit do the work as opposed to  you "leaning into it", make your cut, remove tape and voila.
Depending on what gplb you bought it might, if it's the 45 gram version, be a butt trim only so leave the tip alone.

Just saw on the MGS Instagram feed that driver testing starts in a little over 14 days.   Excited to see and try all the new drivers and get back to swinging clubs on a regular basis.

The biggest differences are size and inventory. The PGASS here in Sarasota is about the size and scale of a Walmart and had tons of club and accessory inventory. They also have several hitting bays you can rent out (by 1/2 hr?). I also found their clothing  house brand to be very good and inexpensive.

I have to admit that I thought rust on the face of a wedge would increase the friction, thereby increasing spin.  This myth has been busted for me.  I play Corey Paul raw wedges which have rusted; apparently for no other reason than appearance.

I was fumbling around and found a couple of articles around cleaning rust of steel shafts.  Both recommend against any kind of abrasive medium as it will likely scratch the shaft finish.  One technique involves vinegar and the other lemon juice.  Both are fairly acidic.  Just Goggle these two:
How To Remove Rust From Golf Club Shafts (Step-by-Step Guide) (golfcartreport.com)
How to Remove Rust Spots From Golf Shafts | Golfweek (usatoday.com)
I'm sure there are several techniques.  Good luck!

I played with a set of Mizuno MP H4 forged irons for 6 years.  For the past 2 years I have owned a set of PXG 0211 irons with graphite shafts and this year I purchased a set of PXG Gen 3 0311 irons with steel shafts.  I do not plan on replacing either set any time soon.

After reading a thread on must have tools for golf repair, I have asked Santa for the following items.
    grip removal tool
    ferrule installer tool
    1/2" belt sander
I have always made do without these items, but I think they will come in handy.

I am 3 weeks post surgery and progressing well.  The sling is very uncomfortable, but the pain has not been bad.

Simple.  I just want back the 20 or so yards I've lost off the tee in the past few years! (Getting old has its penalties.)

I am not even sure where to go with this. I lost a good friend and employee today and just crushed. He was not feeling well this week and last we heard from him was Saturday. His family called for a welfare check and unfortunately we did not get good news. He came to VA in February to work for me and not only was great at his job but became one of my best friends and golf partners. He was way too young to leave this world but it was better for his time here. I have his St. Bernard staying with me until we figure out next steps with his family and the poor guy is just devastated as well. Going to be a rough few days and a lot of tears shed.
