  1. There is nothing “standard” in the golf industry. Adapters are specific to the manufacturer and their depths are different; I have Never seen a chart to compare. Basically the only way is to find someone with both adapters and get them to measure.
  2. No, out of business since about 2010
  3. They don’t count the clubs or check for conformance. They are a company that was simply hired to capture what clubs a player is playing with. They have a binder with every players previously used clubs and update as needed. Simply an inventory. As far as I know we mortals cannot get access to the site but pretty sure it is how we get those stats that X club or shaft was the most used at the tournament. You can read more about them here: http://darrellsurvey.com
  4. Looking forward to watching the coverage tomorrow; I guess that is a benefit of working from home.
  5. That is why looking at 2 positions doesn't tell you a lot. seems like you are in good position, but don't know how you got there.
  6. I think it looks pretty good; but I don't know nuthin about analyzing a swing.
  7. 7 Fairways, 11 greens, 33 putts. 4 bogeys, 1 double, 2 birdies 40/36:76. Pitching practice paid off as my short game shots were much better. Also started to incorporate target selection based on the DECADE system.
  8. Darrel survey is the industry standard. They are on the first tee the first day of every tournament and document every club in the players bag. That doesn't mean that players don't switch the next day. I don't think knowing the clubs provides any type of competitive advantage, but the manufacturers probably don't want it released especially of a player has a logo for one manufacturer but plays something else.
  9. Congrats on setting a new personal best; keep it up!
  10. I am not bothered by playing with someone, but I know people that are. Had an experience in my companies golf league; someone was paired with a vice president and he made me switch so he didn't have to play with him. Wasn't about how good or bad he was; it was simply based on the level in the company. From a player perspective; perhaps he felt like he would be holding you up or something. Hard to say; but people in general are odd and I put myself in that category
  11. Wedge distance practice. Hit a lot of 50 yard shots trying to shorten my backswing length. took some video to see how far back I was going. Took a while to get here; felt like my left hand was just getting past my right thigh.
  12. That is probably just a practice thing. Need to get used to how hot the ball is off the face.
  13. I think it is user error . I have one in my gamer and really see no different between it and a regular shaft. If I were to get on a puttlab/capto/Quintic and dive down into the swing numbers there may be a difference. I just don't think it is worth the cost.
  14. The simple answer is that you can use some oil on the head to help prevent rusting...... for carbon putters people have used things like baby oil and gun oil to help prevent rusting. Because it is an oil, it probably won't evaporate and will have a tendency to be messy. Steel wool is softer than the club and with little effort, you can remove the rust easily. completely preventing rust on a raw clubhead is pretty much impossible and all you can do is try the things suggested in this thread to minimize/slow down the process.
  15. I play golf year round so I do get some practice time outdoors. Weekday outdoors is limited by daylight so that will happen on Saturday and before my weekly round. During week I will be doing most wanted testing at MGS so I have access to a GCQuad and can setup different distances to capture club data. I can also head over if one of the GCQuads isn’t being used. The launch monitor is great because we can look at the data and see what is going on with the swing.
  16. Continuing to practice the short game shots. Working on keeping the clubhead outside hands on backswing and not rolling my Hands/arms which brings the clubhead inside. Also working on shortening the swing. Feedback was that that swing is too long for a 50 yard shot. Been doing swings to stop at shaft parallel; which is really hard for me, and generating more speed. Haven’t used a ball to see how it is working so I Need to get on a launch monitor or back to the practice area to see the distance. I have been using a towel to keep low point under control.
  17. Different shape to give a specific look to players that want something in the mid mallet category. They allow for more Weight without having to go longer and even allow for shorter heel to toe measurements. It also allows for different weight distributions to impact rotation. I am not convinced heavier and/or mallets provide more “stability”; whatever that means. Find the putter(s) that lets you start the ball online and control speed.
  18. I would still suggest contacting the tournament directly. There should be a committee that coordinates local caddies
  19. What level of golf? While I aven’t actually caddied, I have talked with some people that have when I was doing my volunteer shifts at various professional Tournaments. For LPGA and Senior PGA events, there is a committee for the event. They help coordinate the caddy list. To actually be on a pros bag Knowledge of the course is really beneficial. At the senior event I worked, people caddied for the amateurs in the pro-am event. If you want to donut professionally, I used to read a blog written by an LPGA caddy that went event to event to find a bag. He had some posts about how to get started. If that is what you want, I will see if I can find the site again.
  20. No experience and I have never heard of anyone needing one for a Putter. Another thought is to weld Some more material on the stub.
  21. I would just address on a year by year basis and see what I need or want.
  22. Generally you will be safe with them. I have hit windows, pictures, and other things and nothing broke until that one day I cracked the glass in a picture. more of a freak occurrence but it may happen.
