    2020 Birdie Every Hole Challenge

    Welp, I finish 2 eagles short of the challenge last year. I think it had gotten in my head by around June because I probably made 10+ eagles on the back 9 par 5s but didn't make any on the front 9 par 5s. I also eagle our risk reward drivable par 4 10th a few times.

    I'm back in this year. Keeping 1 sheet for birds/eagles for myself here at MGS and one birdies only sheet for a bet with a buddy of mine.
     

     

    Side note: I birdied the 1st hole of the year on 01/01/21 so we all might be doomed this year!

    Sorry I haven't been around much this season guys. Opening my own business in the fall kind of put a hamper on my posting and the little posting I did do was all for our MGS fantasy football league, bc I help run it.
     

    Anyway, Roll Tide and I hope everyone had a good college football season! Here is to 2021 being better than 2020 and to hopefully yet another title for the tide in '21. 😉

    I also prefer start sit, but ya gotta roll with the punches in free leagues. Having a lot of newbies/ casual fans is the nature of free leagues.
    With that said, I get that there is less strategy but there is still strategy in best ball. I purposely played differently last year than I would've in a start/ sit league and I will continue to do so this year. If you go back a look at the playoffs each of the last 3 seasons, I'd venture to guess that you see a lot of the same names recurring. The best players will generally continue to be the best players and make the playoffs regardless of the format.

    Definitely agree with the format, this year has been run really well and with all the teams just been awesome. Maybe if we were to expand I would suggest a spot be given to the highest point scorer in a division?

    I was a man short. I had to go back and drop someone I didnt want to who was playing this afternoon to add Edmonds and fill out a lineup. Otherwise I was without a full lineup.

    It's not like it's an empty roster spot or Pollard; Chase Edmonds is a pretty decent player most weeks (8 weeks of double digit points).  I think this needs to stand as is.

    I don't personally think Edmonds in a time share is close to Pollard who gets the workload to himself with Zeke out. Which is why I added added him and not Edmonds originally.

    With that said I never asked the other commissioners to swap Tony in for me. While it's obvious that I was adding Tony to play in place of the injured D Harris, I should've double and triple checked that the save went through, but I I didn't. It falls on me to set a lineup, despite the app kind of sucking. It is what it is, I think...

    Edit: I type all of this as I watch Pollard score a second TD. The fantasy gods are cruel sometimes.

    We can definitely look at a league vote for next year. Just know that all 4 commissioners were firmly behind points as a tie breaker.

    Fantasy football doesn't really lineup with actual football when considering what's fair bc you can only control your own team. You can't affect the other team at all. There's no schematic advantage or matching up with other peoples strengths and weaknesses. You just have to score the most points. So points are essentially the be all end all when comparing teams in fantasy sports.

    And while yes, a conference winner is a conference winner. However, we are talking about the 4 spot in this division. Neither team would make the playoffs in a true wildcard scenario.

    HEY! They make some nice baskets out there in the panhandle! And it's the University of Texas Basket Weaving. Get it right. 

    They certainly looked like they were doing more basket weaving in the off season than they did practicing this week  🤣

    Same. I got him the night before he retired last year. And I my player autodraft rankings didn't upload for golf last year and I ended up with exactly 1 top 100 player in the world. Bad breaks happen when drafting to us all unfortunately.

    Was essentially a .500 team before so whatever this that's going on I'm happy. It is really tricky with the major ups and downs, but all part of the ride. 

    I had the opposite happen with so many Euros on the squad. Before I changed up my lineup I was 62-173-1 in my first 4 events back lol

     

    Things have been looking up since then though!

    Same ha. My team was built for Majors/WGCs but obviously that's not exactly gonna be useful during this wacky season.

    @cnosil Rahm playing exclusively in the US was the only way I was giving up Rory. That and I needed an upgrade from Scott since he's not currently playing. Hated to let Rory go but it's what my team needed after a DFL finish this week. Can't win it if you don't make the playoffs.

    Anybody interested in Scott before the trade deadline? He's likely to not play for a few more weeks but I'm debating lowering my upside having him on my team vs getting a more stable player who's going to be playing in the next few weeks. Gotta stop the bleeding as I've dropped 20 spots in the last 3 weeks.
