I'm getting pretty good at tearing clubs apart these days. Saved the basically brand new GP Tour Velvet 360s and pulled all the shafts in about 25 minutes.
Step one, complete! The shafts already have found a new home for $60, so I'm at least recouping a little of the cost of the irons.

Started golfing when I was im grade school and at age 53 still looking. I did take about 10 years off so maybe thats the problem. lol...Scared it and hit a few sticks along the way. Last year when we started playing those foam inserts, I thought I had an ace only to find the ball a foot above the stick....hmm..to this day I believe without the foam, I had an ace.  Back to playing and maybe more par 3 three courses should be on my agenda.
Good luck to all of us.

I don't have the decades-long chase that some of you have. I've only been playing regularly for about 8 years now.
What I do have is an 8-year-old who constantly reminds me that he has an ace, and that he got his when he was 5. So that's my burden.

I'm in.. I had a trophy picked out. You know the kind where you insert the actual ball in it. But I'm sure that company is out of business by now! 🤣 I've been waiting 30 years to purchase it... and counting.....

Pretty much been all PING for the past 35 years but that may very well change after next week.  To be honest, the PE2's were just the hot club at the time and the G410's did yield the best results from my first ever LM fitting. But now, having been on MGS for a couple of years, I am woke to other possibilities - so we shall see 🙂.

I read, I believe on MGS, a long time ago the philosophy I've always ascribed too when I've played my best.  No one brand has all the right answers for anyones game.  I've currently got 4 brands represented but that can fluctuate in all honesty because I do switch out clubs frequently.  There was a time recently from top to bottom I went with Callaway clubs.  Woods, irons, wedges and odd putter.  That was a forced set make up and honestly it hurt my game overall.
In the end, clubs are tools.  You gotta have the right tool to be able to score your best.  That's what I've gone back too and my scores are reflective of that now as well.

Here is an example that it isn't predominantly equipment advances.    45 year old golfer (non long drive competitor where they were getting 350 during that timeframe as well) getting 300+ with 25 year old equipment.  Todays players could do the exact same thing.

Only read the first page, but nobody has mentioned the OEMs there.
The biggest pushback on bifurcation will come from them. “Tour” equipment is a big part of their sales pitch to consumers.
Titleist doesn’t want joe average to think his ball isn’t the same Pro V Justin Thomas plays, same thing with Callaway, Ping and Taylormade with their drivers.

I'm sure we will hear all about the evil's of bifurcation shortly but I'm not in that camp.  I played baseball in High School and College at a very interesting time.  My senior year of High School was 1974, the first year that I ever saw an aluminum bat.  Of course I didn't use it but you would have thought all of us would because we had a guy go from hitting .260 his junior year to .420 his senior year - duh.....  In college the coach required us to use aluminum bats - I hit right around .300 just as I had in High School against far inferior pitch - duh.....  I never thought that we weren't playing baseball whether we were using wood or aluminum, 7 innings or 9, DH or no (designated runners for the catchers in college, too) BTW.

Likewise with golf - bifurcation exists already - certainly you have the option to play a back set of tees if you tee it up where a tour event is played I supposed you could perhaps be playing from the same set as used in a tournament - but certainly not under the same course conditions, with the same pin placements - all that stuff makes a dramatic difference in the game - rest assured that the scores at the US Open this summer will be higher than they were this past week at Torey Pines.  It will be the same course but it won't.
True this will be another step in that direction but its that or making a very challenging game more challenging still for the rest of us - I've busted my you know what to recapture 15 or so yards.  There is certainly no issue with me hitting the ball too far and I'm a fairly skilled golfer for an amateur.  If for some reason the ruling bodies and tours think that they need to create local rules to change the balance of value per skill in the game - so be it - just leave us alone please.

    The experiment begins!
So far, it seems promising. I'm keeping my putter at 34", so the bulge in the grip really settles more into the palm of my left hand than it does strictly on my wrist. But it still has the effect of reminding me to keep my hands and wrists calm and to putt with my shoulders:
I'll keep this thread updated as I keep testing.

Proud Dad moment, my 7-yr old son made a traveling developmental select baseball team.
The coaches are really intense about developing players, and the team as a whole.  Grant had to do a full tryout and then wait a couple days to hear, then when the coach called he said “we’d like to offer Grant a spot with the Bruins.”  I wanted to ask if he needs an agent...

Love the feel of that Tour Snsr/blue grip. While I don't play it now I have in past. Additionally I wanted to share that at one period of time I enjoyed the Garsen type grips as they seem to quiet my hands or rather I did not open/close putter as much. I may go back to those on a few of my backup putters.

Losing a family member is hard; can’t imagine losing both parents that close together. Underlying conditions or not, whether the death rate is .01% or 10% COVID is a terrible illness since it seems to impact everyone differently. I lost my mother to COVID a couple of weeks ago and she had few traditional symptoms. All I
can suggest is that you let you friend know that you are there to support her.

Thanks for the encouragement and thanks for following a long. Yeah, the weather is not so great right now.

The pulled pork turned out wonderfully! I smoked it in a mixture of Alder, pecan, and cherry and it came out with a moderate smoke flavor. I topped it with some Jim Beam maple bourbon BBQ sauce which had a hint of sweetness. Still got leftovers and we're planning on having it again for dinner tomorrow night.

Got to the store to have the tip installed on my brother’s new driver shaft today.
Looks reaaallll nice.. I sure hope I don’t lose it somewhere along the way to deliver it to him.

I also got a good look at the OGIO Woode bag I ordered... I think it’s going to work out really nice.  The internal dividers basically mimic the top, so the 4 wood slots are not sharing the same internal space as the 4 irons slots to the right which I originally feared they might.  They’re not fully boxed, as the sides are only anchored internally at the top and bottom, but they seem good enough that shafts shouldn’t move around the outside into another area (I know probably way more than anyone but me cares to read about the internal configuration of dividers... so if you read all that, thank you).
Colors look good in person.  I feel the Gray and Orange is not as bold as it looks in the photos... but in the sun I can see it popping.

Hope you get to play soon. Regarding pulling putts, what size/brand putter grip are you using?
