  1. 44-37 today. Front 9 we were stuck behind some mooks and took 3 hours to play. The course we played has 36 holes, so we didn't have to follow them on the back, and played in 1:40. I woNdEr WhAt tHe DiFfeRenCe WaS... Take Dead Aim
  2. Sam Snead did this too, but with a draw. He set up like a pull hitter in baseball and kept everything left side. Though I don't believe there's a book on his swing, and nothing out there on Snead is as detailed as Hogan. Take Dead Aim
  3. I do not think par 3 courses will help the game. Nor will 9-hole only or executive courses. If you don't have regulation 18, you don't have anything. Take Dead Aim
  4. I am doing the same thing, hitting draws all day, every day. (It worked for Snead) But like everyone else here, yea I'm gonna hit a push or leave one out to the right. My conception of this plan is to stick to my guns and be able to hit the shot I am most comfortable with as often as possible. Yea, I'll miss once in awhile, or there's a hole I'll have to club down because it doesn't fit my preferred shape. But I think this plan builds confidence and I just need to miss smaller and lose shots less often. Take Dead Aim
  5. I was gaming an original Ram Zebra up until 2 years ago. Take Dead Aim
  6. I saw the featured pairings, and that first one Rors, Rahm, and Brooks. How do you pick against those guys????? Take Dead Aim
  7. I've had 3 sets total since high school. And my last set I just got at the end of 2018, so I guess I'm towards the 7 year crowd. Take Dead Aim
  8. 100x better than Raccoon. Especially now that they fixed the old 5th hole. Dumbest par 5 ever. For everyone else, reading this: You teed off with a 8 or 9 iron to a corner, then a fairway wood up a hill, then another 9i or wedge into the green. You could try to cut around the corner if you hit a hybrid perfect, but otherwise you were hitting 3. Take Dead Aim
  9. If I ever make it out there, I'm playing Torrey. I have a list of all the publicly accessible PGA tour tracks and I want to play as many as I can. Take Dead Aim
  10. Fox Den, another favorite! Take Dead Aim
  11. Northeast Ohio. I'd say most courses are between $40-50 on a weekend with cart. I think the most expensive is about $75. (Pete Dye layout) Take Dead Aim
  12. I agree with you on the thought of accessibility, that's part of the definition too. For example in my area there are a few courses that have a "one price all the time" policy. They keep rates super low, like $25 for 18+ cart on a weekend, so their tee sheet is full all the time, but they also allow walk-ups too, so the course is always jam packed and 6 hour rounds are normal. Take Dead Aim
  13. I actually grew up in Geauga, so my favorite courses are on the east side, especially Sugar Bush & Windmill Lakes. Hawk's Nest is super fun to play! I just played Forest Hills on Sunday, that course is a great deal, though it needs played a few times to get used to the layout. I play Cossett Creek a lot. Not as nice, but really easy to get out on. Take Dead Aim
  14. Layout is the most important. I can live with slightly subpar conditions if the course is fun to play and challenging. Accessibility is also big, if I know it's going to be a 5+ hour round I will actively avoid that course. As far as the rest, just don't be jerks, and have fair concession prices. Some courses around here are getting to be over $5 for a hot dog and that's ridiculous for Ohio. Take Dead Aim
  15. The peacefulness of early morning or evening of being in nature alone. The challenge against myself, and the constant desire for improvement are next. Friendships are nice, but I've never found that rival that takes the game as serious as I do. Take Dead Aim
  16. 81 today, couldn't sink a putt. Either pars or doubles, nothing much in between. Take Dead Aim
  17. Mid iron bump & run. I use the 7, but anything could work Take Dead Aim
  18. Played Sunday in Elyria and the course was covered. Let's see what tomorrow morning brings. Take Dead Aim
  19. I would throw an muscle back 2 iron as a specialty club. When you absolutely, positively need to keep it low, go 2 iron Take Dead Aim
  20. Same here. Is there a course you call home? Take Dead Aim
  21. I haven't downsized, still younger and I used to caddy. I am thinking of doing some old school 6 club challenges this year. The 6 would be 3W, 4i, 7i, PW, 54*, and putter. Try to match the old old school mashie/niblick era for lofts. Take Dead Aim
  22. I agree I hope the ladies get more TV time. Take Dead Aim
  23. I don't worry about it. I hit draws and bombs. I'll back off and play to the corner if a hole doesn't fit my shape. Take Dead Aim
