I demoed the 6 & 9 irons and, like you, really couldn't find many things wrong with them. Only mild complaint was I over hit some greens, but that isn't a legit problem haha.
Good to hear you liked them!

Well I gotta be honest and say there wasn't anything I disliked about them. I was using a TM TP5 ball and the ball just melted off the face and took off like a rocket. Nice high trajectory without ballooning into the 15mph wind I played in. I also had zero problems holding the greens (the couple I hit anyways lol). Mine are shafted with DG130 S300 for reference.

Ive always been a fan of Golf Pride Tour Wrap grips.  I love the oldschool look and love the way they feel.  I know that I probably should switch to a cord grip for the humid weather during the summer but I just love me a wrap grip.

I'm actually getting ready to head out for my first round of the year with some Sub70 699's. I am a Multi compound grip guy. I don't care to play any other style. Currently have some generic MCC grips on them. I have the t200 irons coming for testing and have GP MCC grips on them as well.

Planning on getting some new Sub70 699's with the Project X Rifle shafts. But my main question is grips. Currently I have the midsize Golf Pride Core Grips, which are great but want to get the MC for the new clubs.
What are y'all's thoughts? What grips have you tried and why you like/dislike them?

The "Golf Ball Test" was very eye opening for me to say the least.
The 2 things that I took out of it that apply to me are,
    1. You do not have to spend $45.00 to get a quality golf ball
    2. Pick a quality ball and stay with it.
That said, I chose the Snell MTB-X and so far I have no regrets.

They are a bit stronger than traditional blades. If you go on their website they have the specs of each iron. They are fun/easy to hit. If you're in the market, check them out. I hear they have a great demo program; I just bought them without hitting them and don't regret it.

I just purchased my first ever pair of golf shoes. I went with the Inesis Waterproof Grip Shoes due to a combination of looks and price. It didn't hurt that they were on the most wanted list either...
Look: The shoes look great. I went with the snowy white, which on the website look a little more gray. The shoes, however, are very white. Which is fine, but I was hoping for a more muted gray. They look like a combination of a golf shoe and a running shoe. I'm digging them.
Fit: Their website said that the shoes generally run small and suggested ordering a size up. I did this, and the size up fit like a size too big. In hindsight I should have measured my foot and used their measurement guidelines which would have told me to order my regular size. That said, returning the shoes was easy. Their customer service responded quickly, sent me a return label, and my new pair was in the mail before I had shipped them the other pair back.
Feel: The shoes feel great. They may be too narrow for someone with wider feet, but they fit my foot fine. They are a bit stiff at first, but it wasn't uncomfortable during my practice. They are soft and somewhat springy, a feel that I don't mind. I like that the grips are rubber and not "plasticy" feeling.
Performance: I've only used them in the backyard, but they seem to perform like a golf shoe. They grip the ground great and feel stable underfoot. My yard has some muddy spots from where I've been practicing and I definitely get some slipping when I'm wearing non-golf shoes. I didn't experience any slipping in these. I'm curious to see how waterproof they are. I'm used to golfing early morning in dewy grass and finishing the round with soaked feet.
Price: Can't imagine there are many shoes that have the looks and feel for less than $80. I'd recommend them for sure.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on a pair of the True Linkswear Masters edition, Original - Green Jacket shoes.

Maybe it was the fact of being cooped up in the house, the Masters being postponed, or my intrigue with smaller golf brands with the same or similar views of how golf should be played (walking and in any condition), but I felt drawn to these the moment I saw them.

When they arrived and after a thorough cleaning, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality comfort and feel. Furthermore, the color, while seeming a little unique or exotic, surprisingly felt versatile and unique. The toe box, feels roomie, and appears larger than it is (likely due to the white color), but the traction feels just as sturdy as any spineless shoe I have owned.

While I haven’t had an opportunity to wear them on the course, my only concern at this point is keeping them clean. I’m looking forward to my next stroll in the park in my new shoes.

A few pics for anyone interested.

Very similar to Birdicorn. $12! Has a bottle opener built-in, and magnet that holds the coin.

They just opened after being shut down for close to a month which helped the course be in great shape. Played 27 holes over the past 3 days there. Course can be so fun but quickly punish you with bad shots

Pkkenny88 reacted to Mr. 82 in St. James Bay - Carrabelle, Florida
Living in Tallahassee is always a challenge for the avid golfer.  St. James Bay is a golf course that is right near the Gulf of Mexico, so it's a golf option for husbands when their wives wish to go to the beach.  I've played this course more then a handful of times, typically once or twice a year over the past 4 years or so, and up until last year the conditions were decent, and the layout itself demanded accurate shots to fairways that are visually intimidating to hit, as there are multiple wetlands and waste areas where if you hit it in there, your ball is gone.  As a 6 handicapper who hits a straight tee shot, I tend to manage this course well, and can usually work my way around this golf course without too much difficulty.  But I'll simply say that for the average golfer who has his fair share of misses left or right either off of the tee, or on approach to the green, this course will absolutely eat your lunch.  I've witnessed a 15 handicap golfer bring more than a dozen golf balls with him, and run out of golf balls by the 14th hole.  I've also witnessed someone pull a "Tin Cup" on the par three 17th hole here, and rinse four straight balls into the water from the tee.
Beyond the complexities and challenge of the layout of this course, when you do visit this "resort" you would expect conditions to be better than average, because you typically visit a place like this while on vacation or on the weekend, when you are going places to enjoy yourself.  Today I experienced something I thought I would never witness in my life at a place like this.  This golf course is virtually unplayable, as teeing grounds were reduced to dirt piles, and fairways had limited to no grass.  And because we were playing in an official FSGA event today, we were forced to play the ball down and putt everything out.  We originally had 13 people sign up for this event, but one couple didn't show up, and another man simply quit playing out of frustration after 5 holes.
The course was playing so difficult that the average score for the 10 remaining players in the field was a 99.  That included a 4 handicap who posted a 109, and a 6 handicap who posted a 95.  But it's one thing to be challenged by a golf course layout, but it's another thing to be challenged by conditions on the course that have deteriorated so badly as to make the golf course virtually unplayable.  Factor in a gusting wind that was unpredictable and hard to figure out, and you had all the ingredients for golf carnage.  The other thing I found quite disturbing is that the natural wetlands that run the entire length of this course have become so overgrown that natural foliage that runs in front of your teeing area, blocks your view of fairways and target areas, making picking a target line almost impossible.
I am posting this mostly because I would hope to save anyone the time and money of bothering to even play here.  I'm honestly very saddened to see this golf course in such horrible shape, as it is one of the few golf options in the Tallahassee area.  But losing this course might be better then still deceiving the public by offering them golf here.  I can't imagine that anyone would enjoy their experience here, at least in it's current state.  One thing off course sort of stood out to me to sum up this entire experience.  They had a bunch of dining room chairs and a popcorn machine stored in the men's locker room.  I mean, that says something about the direction that this place is headed.  But hey, they have a weekly axe throwing contest for the locals. 🙄 That's something to look forward to.

Pkkenny88 reacted to Rickp in Has anyone purchased products because of the MGS Reviews?
Not sure if this has been done B4 or even if this is the right place for this.
Over the months I've been in this Forum I've read many reviews from a lot of Spy's and also the official MGS reviews. I'm curious if anyone has purchased products or at least looked carefully at items because of the positive reviews.
I have bought equipment and used the reviews to help me decide on which to buy.
Such as Ping G400 irons, Ping Pioneer golf bag, Odyssey #7 Oworks and a couple of different balls.
    Anyone else?

I heard about them from this website I believe. I’ve had a couple bad experiences with local “fitters” in my area; trying to push me to buy the latest and most expensive club as well as the club that gives me the most distance on their monitors. Building to my liking and not have a salesman push for something else, is refreshing. Price point is refreshing. Performance of these irons are great and the customer service was top notch. Highly recommend you go with them if you’re in the market.

Edit your profile and once you're in that screen, select Edit Signature.  Then you can type in whatever you want.  The different manufacturer logos are in the emoticon tool bar. Pretty sure the is a thread that spells it out more clearly, but I can't find it right now.

I am looking to upgrade my irons next. Using Ping i3+ (Black Dot) from my cousin, love the clubs. But I have never been fitted and owned a new set of clubs just for myself. So new irons here I come....just can't decide. Decisions, decisions.
