  1. The weight change in the LST has been a game changer! I’ve switched to a 6 gram weight instead of the standard 16 gram, and have seen an exponential improvement! Best of all I’m having no trouble closing the face, and my dispersion has improved along with hitting my preferred shape more often. 16gram LST: 158 mph ball speed/ 106-109 mph club head speed 6 gram LST: 165 mph ball speed/ 110-114 mph club head speed
  2. MOI on the i210 and i59 are virtually identical, I just wanted a larger head and the stronger loft (22 vs 23.5) for the 4. It bridges the gap between my U510 3 iron and the i59’s nicely.
  3. Nothing worse than paying upfront and then having to wait! I ordered a set i59’s(5-W) and an i210 4 iron with project x LS 6.0 shafts and arccos grips on 9/20. Received 10/23…. I was in shock when the shop called to say they were in; I figured it be at least until Christmas before I got them. I’m glad I didn’t deviate from stock shaft/grip options as I think that’s what’s delaying a lot of orders…
  4. Even Par 72 for my 1st round with the i59’s. You know that feeling you get once or twice a round when you pure one? That feeling/sound with these babies is so superior to my old AP3 it’s not funny. Shot of the day was this 6 iron to about 13 feet. Missed the eagle putt though…
  5. New indoor hitting bay opened closer to my house, but uses trackman. These new Titleist balls make it a hard decision between this studio and another 20 minutes farther away that uses GC quad hawk
  6. When I was fit for my driver shaft (Tensei ck pro white 60g) I was swinging 118. New swing, I’m down in the 106-110 range and hitting it farther than before. Same shaft, much slower swing speed, but higher ball speed and lower spin. I’ve tried some non x-stiff shafts and no dice, I just can’t control them. If you find something that works for you, I’d hold on to it. By all means, try others, but don’t sell your #1.
  7. This!!! Hitting my 3 wood(G410 LST) off a tee just makes it spin more. Noticed a 23 yard disparity off a tee vs off the deck. Once I realized I hit it longer and straighter off the deck, I just started skipping the tee.
  8. I just bought 6, 10, & 20g weights for my Ping G410 LST. Very interested to see how lighter and heavier versions will affect my swing speed , ball speed, dispersion and backspin numbers.
  9. @MiddlerGot any data for us to look at?How heavy is the shaft in your driver? Where on the face is your typical impact? Do you hit up or down on the ball with driver? With my old swing, I was swinging left and down with a face open to path. (7 degrees left 2-5 degrees down, and a club face 4-7 right of path) all that equaled a fairly straight iron shot. Until late in the round when I would start squaring the face to the path and start hitting shots dead straight left. With a driver it was similar, but more exaggerated due to lack of backspin. Changing my swing path was the cure to this issue for me. Try hitting the exact opposite shape shot that you usually hit. For me, this moved my strike out towards the heel and made my miss a toe-y knuckle ball that would fall out of the sky. This was so different from my usual cut/power fade that I was encouraged to keep trying. Eventually I found the center of the face and my driving has gotten so much better over the last 25 rounds. I think Martin Hall said, “keep doing what you’ve been doing, and you’ll keep getting what you’ve been getting.” The most dangerous golf swing thought I ever adopted was that my driver swing was supposed to be “different” from my iron swing. Might have wasted 2+ seasons on this idea of trying to maintain 2 different swings.
  10. Even par 72 for my 1st round with my i59’s! 9/14 FIR -11/18 GIR - 5/7 up&down - 29 putts 4 birdies 4 bogeys
  11. Kitchen remodel in the works! Still in the planning stage, but pics soon…
  12. So I ordered 9/20, and received 10/23; not too shabby…
  13. So woke up to pouring rain today in the valley so I had to cancel my tee time. Was wondering what I’d do all day when the golf shop called to say my order had arrived…
  14. @Thin2win@fixyurdivot so guess what came today?
  15. Have not: I honestly have tried to forget about them for about 2 months, haven’t even called the shop yet. Was quoted 6-8 weeks…
  16. Love fall golf: my wife shot her all time low of 87 Sunday, and I was no slouch myself! I took a bogey on 18 for a tidy score of 1 over on the day. Short game was on point all day including going 7/7 on up & down opportunities. Followed that up with a roller coaster round of +2 that included 2 doubles and bogey against 3 birdies. Why does it always take all season to score well? And then it snowed here today…
  17. 5 over 77 today: got away from me a bit on the back 9. But 11/14 fairways is ridiculous for me! But just a gorgeous day to be outside…
  18. I59’s (5-PW) plus I210 4 iron, orange dot(2* flat) with project x ls 6.0 shafts and arccos grips ordered! $1700 out the door, wonder if I’ll get them by Christmas
  19. Ordered I59’s Monday: if they’re here by Christmas it’ll be a miracle….
  20. Swinging fast and swinging hard are 2 different things. I find it difficult to sequence properly if I’m not swinging close to all-out. It’s what makes my driver essentially a driving range only club.
  21. I can hit driver OB in either direction(currently learning a draw after 2 seasons of hitting fades) 3wood I can shape both ways depending on the situation Irons are a baby draw Generally the driver only makes an appearance on par 5’s where I can afford to miss either side
  22. I see no correlation in my game between hitting more fairways and scoring better. But hitting more greens? Absolutely. If I hit 9+ GIR, I’m gonna break 80. For me to gain a tangible accuracy increase, I have to club down to 3 iron, so hitting 3 out of 4 fairways comes at a cost of 30-50 yards. Like everyone else, I’m much more accurate with a wedge than a 7 iron; whether it’s in the fairway or rough is of almost no consequence to me. I want to hit my tee shot as far as possible, and give me the shortest approach shot possible.
  23. @fixyurdivot just got back from my iron fitting: the I59 are legit! They are plenty forgiving for such a compact blade like shape. Feel? Amazing. Great launch and spin numbers as well. The only club in the running against it is the Titleist T-100. And since the project x ls 6.0 is a no up charge shaft in the ping, but not in the T100, for me the price difference 4-W would be $140. If comparing stock offerings the difference is $60 a club… but for what I’d be getting, (I210 4i, I59 5-W) vs T100(t100s 4i, 5-W t100) it’s $1629 for the Ping and $1490 for the Titleist. Granted, what closes the price gap is shaft up-charge, but $140 isn’t the end of the world for a set of irons you love.
  24. As far as why this cycle of current players favors team Europe, I think it’s more about familiarity with match play. Don’t know about the rest of you guys, but I’ve never played match play with my golfing buddies. If euros grow up golfing in this style, I’d say it is a natural advantage. Will that advantage continue with a new generation coming up for the American side? I’m hoping no…
