goaliewales14
Yesterday there was an article posted giving us the first look at Bettinardi's Antidote putter line. The link is below in case anyone missed it. This new putter line brought up an interesting question that I want to posed to everyone. If a club was the best performing golf club out on the market, but was an eye sore to look at, would you buy it? Also, if you would buy it, would you pay the same price, or higher, as its closest competitor? Based upon the comments I read about that article, everyone strongly dislikes the looks of the new putter line, but what if it does work? Again, it would definitely have to prove itself against all of the other out there. In my own personal opinion, I would argue that some of Scotty Cameron's putters have been towards that ugly side, yet people still purchase them. Whether they are purchasing them out of brand loyalty, or performance, I couldn't tell you. That's also not the cheapest line to purchase. What are everyone else's thoughts on this? https://mygolfspy.com/first-look-bettinardis-antidote-putter-line/ Driver: Callaway Rogue ST Max 3 Wood: Taylormade SIM 3 Utility Iron: Srixon U85 4i – 5i: Taylormade P790 6i – AW: Taylormade P770 SW: Taylormade MG3 TW Grind LW: Taylormade Hi-Toe 3 Low Bounce Putter: PXG Battle Ready One & Done
STUDque
Yeesh. I never thought I'd call a Betty ugly but.......well now there's the model 2. For better or for worse, that's definitely a club that people will ask about when you whip it out. cnosil
Not the best looking putter, but it it works for my stroke I would play it. My issue is the cost; I don;t pay that much for putters, $300 range is generally my limit. i might go higher if there wasn't something else that provided equivalent performance Driver: G400 Max 9* w/ KBS Tour Driven Fairway: XCG7 Beta 15* w/Fujikura Fuel Hybrids: 915H 21* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype 915H 24* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype Irons: TR20V 6-11 w/Vizard TR20-85 Graphite Wedge: 54/12D, 60/8M w/Accra iWedge 90 Graphite Putter: Sacks Parente MC 3 Stripe Backup Putters: Milled Collection RSX 2, mFGP2, Futura 5W, TM-180 Member: MGS Hitsquad since 2017
ddryan
I still want a Betti B9- that is one smooth looking putter, and from the evals, it works as good as it looks...https://forum.mygolfspy.com/topic/20813-official-forum-member-review-bettinardi-putters/ What's in the bag? null
I'd never miss a putt with that thing - mainly because I'd never putt with it in the first place.
kardboard.kid
Based on my putter review so far, price point does not equate to quality. Sure there may be some loss in overall performance, but the average golfer does not need it. Only some one who is considering Golf as a profession would. That market is a very small percentage of the overall market. There nice to read about, but I would never buy one. McaseyM
i am all for using what works best for me, but the price point is a bit much for me. Even if it was ugly, as long as it gets the ball in the hole better than anything else. Golf is still mostly the Indian, not the arrow, but having a properly fit bow does make the biggest difference. ole gray
I'd put the model #2 in play in a skinny minute as I have a yearning for a center shafted putter. I have a pretty Betty (Queen B #9) now so I got the pretty covered. Besides if that big arse model #2 rolls the egg good, I don't care what that heifer looks like. If the cow brings me milk, she ain't got to wear a bow on her head..... JTexGolfer
The price point for me is off putting. I paid $375 for a custom fitted and custom weighted Edel and that's about as much as I could see paying. No way I would pay $500 for something that's not fitted on the hope that it works. 400 Driver (8*) UST ATTAS Punch 6S F6 Baffler (16*) Matrix Red Tie 65Q4 816 H1 Hybrid (21*,23*) Diamana S+ Blue 82 HY Z765 (5-PW) +2* Aerotech Steelfiber i110cw Vokey SM5 50.08F 54.10M Aerotech Steelfiber i110cw PM Grind 60* Dynamic Gold S400 TR 1966 Anser 2 Z Star ball Pioneer Cart Bag
TMAC
I have to like the looks of a putter when I'm standing over it. I've owned several Bettis', but this series won't be making it in my bag any time soon. Just butt ugly.
